  1. ^Hahaha! That was the best! Then me and my buddy would walk up with wristbands, and we'd walk right by. Some people were also talking about not being able to ride Tatsu, and then we'd be like "Ready for another ride on Tatsu?" The day was entirely awesome...I'm going to be doing this a lot, but thank you Robb and Elissa for everything and the organization, and letting us in and putting up with us all, and thank the park for the free food and lunch and churros and icee's and frozen lemonades! I ate so much food! Honestly the best day I've ever had at Magic Mountain.
  2. It'll be dissapointing...trust me...and i'm not talking about the ride... ...lol...
  3. I just wanted to thank Robb and Elissa and anyone else involved allowing us all to come along and join the party...and providing food! Hell yeah! Really looking forward to it. Now I just hope I was one of the first 200 to RSVP... So there's an estimated 500 people total showing up? Or just theme park review members...I'm just trying to get an idea of how many people you think are gonnab e walking around at 5am.
  4. ^Actually your wrong...that "bleach tale" was a rumor going around that's not exactly true...check your facts, pal...the stain was there before the incident. I love how you act like your sympathetic, then you talk sh*t in the same line...no wonder I typically avoid people like you.
  5. ^Wow, where the hell have you been? Haha, haven't seen you post in forever! Unless...maybe you just stay away from the Magic Mountain thread... Nice update! Its good to get an update that includes other things going on around the park that the typical Joe might not notice...It seems it was slow...damn! I shoulda gone!
  6. Nice to see some vertical work...if track going vertical tells us anything, it's that the rest of the track will be arriving soon, and pretty quickly. I'd like to know what process they go through to get the track in the park and up on the hills. That must not only be a huge pain in the ass, but a very interesting process. The lift hill does look steep. I'm not so concerned about trains showing up as I am seeing this thing being put together.
  7. If it really is announced at 12 AM, I'm gonna be waiting all day for the announcement to come...I decided not to look at coaster sites for a couple days so time would fly by faster, and it sure as hell has! Anouncement tommorow and I'm so ready to see this puppy! I don't care how big it is or what it does, its a terrain flyer!
  8. Which makes sense considering parts of the ride after the first hill (especially the turn-around that's over the station) are very high above ground, probably 100 feet...and the way the ride was built on that hill is pretty phenominal. Which leads me to believe a 30 foot deep footer probably isn't going to be supporting track much higher than 30-40 feet. Awesome updates all around. Thanks a lot...and I think some of you should stop making the wisecracks about them, be thankful you even get updates... I believe someone asked if construction was moving slowly for a coaster...I'd say they're moving pretty well considering the landscape and obstacles they have to deal with (For example, a footer in the waterfall near the front of the park? Holey cow! Whoda ever thunk that?)...footers are boring to watch, but it seems like they dropped a whole lot of them this week, there are probably a lot we can't see just because of the location. Honestly, it just makes it worse looking every day--even every week...this stuff just takes time, soon enough you'll know whats going on and you'll be able to ride... Jah-"I mean, it's not like RCT, that you might be used to."-ames
  9. ^As far as I know (and, well, logically), it would definitly not make any sense to remove the Sky Tower, for all of the reasons you mentioned above. I would bet thousands of dollars of my life savings that Sky Tower will be at the park as long as the park is operating. However, rumors are buzzing around that it may re-open in 2006, as part of the entire propable "Samurai Summit Makeover" that people are hoping happens while Tatsu construction is underway. Nothing is guaranteed though... To me, it's kind of a typical "Sky Tower may re-open" rumor that tends to fly around every year when announcements are scheduled..and much more convienient and believable now that MM is deciding to pay attention to the Samurai hill again after over 8 years of letting it rot (Since the opening of Superman, nothing up there has been touched). I would be utterly surprised and amazed if media day even mentioned the Sky Tower on the 17th. I'd love to believe they would open the ride, I'm all for it. But I really don't think they care enough about that thing to get it running, even with all the new construction happening around it...cause that's just the way things go at Magic Mountain sometimes...although i'd love to be wrong (And I have to be honest, sometimes I get impressed, and this park comes along and really surprises and wows me). Once again, this is all just speculation, and a reason why I think people are so excited about the 17th is because SO many questions are going to be answered on that day. I guess this shows how excited I'm starting to get too...
  10. Now THIS is the kinda stuff that makes me wanna be employed at Magic Mountain...I know I just crap talked the media event, but I'd love to go anyway, haha (Hypocrite i am!).
  11. Or get known like Robb...I bet he's invited...It's okay dude, it's really nothing that special, I've seen them before... Basically, some high up guy from SFMM stands in front of a podium and reads a badly prepared speech about a coaster he could really give a rats ass about...then they show picture's that you'll be seeing on here a couple minutes after anyway...
  12. I love all the updates, no matter how proffesional or unproffesional they are. People taking pics so I can see whats going on without having to visit the park myself is awesome. Seeing Revy's track cut out is pretty odd... The reason I think this ride is going to be big, is because, they wouldn't be going through all the trouble of cutting out exit ramps, rail pieces, and track pieces if it wasn't worth all the work... Absolutely amazing...I'd say perhaps one of the most anticipated coasters since X for me...
  13. Hey, is that you wes? From the kung-fu grippin' westcoast site? I wouldn't worry too much about getting off topic...this kinda crap happens when nothings going on...kinda entertaining if you ask me... Nice edit with the topic title there Robb, haha...I think that will eliminate some of the first-time post problems we've been having around here as of late. ...rookies...
  14. Hey everybody, big news! There's an announcement coming from Six Flags Magic Mountain on November 17th! They say its something big! http://www.sixflags.com/parks/magicmountain#
  15. And obviously, you don't need to be skilled in typing legibly in order to work at Six Flags Magic Mountain either... I wonder if digging for footers has begun...
  16. Don't they ussually dig holes before they start putting up wood frames for footers? I'm sure that's just a temporary wood structure...nothing they're gonna be using for permanent construction...
  17. I was actually just thinking... If a bunch of ride operators just decided not to show up anymore...a lot of parks would be seriously screwed! I mean, that's what would happen at Knott's for some rides, but imagine if like, 100 ride operators just decided not to show up! Haha, man I would not wanna be at the park on that day...
  18. I believe Six Flags California is a combination name of both Hurricane Harbor and Magic Mountain...kind of like a resort. Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor are still seperately named parks within Six Flags California. Hope that clears it up... As for the supports, I noticed something very specific in the photos. If you look at the bottom of some of the supports, they have little H shaped block welded on them. These type of supports with the H block, would have the regular footing attached, with an added H block supporter inserted deeper INTO the footer. Now, if I remember correctly, Silver Bullet had a couple of the exact same type of supports where the cobra roll was placed. So perhaps, this flyer may in fact have a new element, and it may very well be some type of element similar to cobra roll...
  19. Magic Mountain doesn't need a drop tower like Supreme Scream. Once they get Freefall up and running, that ride is good enough for me. Call me old school, but despite its being rough, I like it a lot better than Supreme Scream... Its a whole lot creepier too...
  20. Dang...is it really gonna be crowded tommorow night? And how many christians are there really going to be? I was thinking about going just cause I just thought it'd be a chill night, but the more I hear about it, the less appealing it's becoming.
  21. Hey Robb...I think it's time to pull out that trophy again for the big winner who posted above me... Jah-"I dont get it dude...what do you want for a correct guess?"-ames
