  1. I just sent in my order in case I can go, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go.
  2. Best places: Philadelphia/NYC area, Central Florida, Southern California, England, Germany, France, Japan Philadelphia/NYC area: Dorney, Hershey, Knoebels, Morey's Piers, SF America, SF Great Adventure, and many smaller parks within driving distance for a day trip Central Florida: Disney World, Universal, Sea World, and Busch Gardens all within 2 hours of each other Southern California: Disneyland, Knott's, SF Magic Mountain, and many fun centers within 2 hours of each other England: Many parks and easy to get to using public transport Germany, France, and Japan: See England Worst places: Anywhere west of I-35 (outside of Central and Southern California), Houston, Louisiana, Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Northern New England, Canada (outside of Toronto and Montreal) Anywhere west of I-35: Many states west of I-35 have very few if any roller coasters Houston: The fourth-largest city in the United States has only one roller coaster within 2 hours, thanks to Six Flags and Hurricane Katrina Louisiana: Hurricane Katrina, enough said UP of Michigan and Northern New England: Nearest roller coasters over four hours away and very little freeway to get there Canada: Only two decent-sized amusement parks in entire country (Canada's Wonderland and La Ronde)
  3. I graduated on May 29 from Manistee High School in Manistee, Michigan. My class had only 130 members. In the fall I am going to Grand Valley State University and majoring in Geography with a minor in a math-related field. In fact, through dual enrollment at the local community college and Advanced Placement testing, I already have 11 credits for college. This summer I am mostly having fun by going to the beach (I can walk there and see it from my house) and going to small-town festivals (especially those with fireworks and/or a carnival).
  4. I live in one of the worst places in relationship to amusement parks. Michigan's Adventure: 1.25-1.5 hours SF Great America: 5.5-6 hours Cedar Point: 6 hours Wisconsin Dells area: 7-8 hours (involves ferry travel) Kings Island: 8 hours Holiday World: 9-9.5 hours Valleyfair: 11-12 hours (involves ferry travel) I've only been to the first three. In my opinion, the best place for a coaster enthusiast to live (during the summer) is in the Philadelphia area. You have Dorney Park and SF Great Adventure about 1 hour away, Hershey Park about 1.5 hours away, Knoebels and SF America about 2.5 hours away, Kings Dominion about 4.5 hours away, Kennywood and the other Western PA parks about 5 hours away, and Busch Gardens about 5.5 hours away. Even Cedar Point is within 8 hours. During the winter, the best place is either Southern California or the Lakeland, Florida (halfway between Tampa and Orlando) area. In Southern California, you have SF Magic Mountain, Universal Studios Hollywood, Disneyland, California Adventure, Knott's Berry Farm, Legoland, and Sea World San Diego within three hours. In Lakeland, Florida, Busch Gardens, Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Sea World Florida are all within one hour.
  5. I am considering going, but: 1. I am not sure if my parents will let me go by myself (they probably would, seeing as I have yet to spend a night away from home without parents and I move in at Grand Valley in less than a month). 2. I would either have to drive a long ways (I live about six hours away) or fly into Milwaukee (the airport in my hometown has a nonstop flight to Milwaukee) and find a ride from the airport in Milwaukee.
  6. Football: High school, college, and NFL Basketball: High school (preferably girls; I only watch boys for the highlight reel plays) and college Baseball: MLB Softball: High school (one of my good friends from high school is going to pitch at a D1 school next year) Swimming: High school (last year was the first year my high school had swimming teams)
  7. BUMP Local Radio Stations 94.9 - WKZC - Country - Plays a lot of older stuff 99.7 - WRQE - Soft Rock - Mainly listen to this station when they're all-Christmas in November and December, station located 70 miles from my location 101.5 - WMTE - "Classic Hits" - More like a Jack station; they'll play anything from David Essex to the Goo Goo Dolls and Cinderella to Green Day 103.5 - WTCM - Country - Long-running morning show, good country music, plays some legends Satellite Radio XM8 - 80's on 8 - Plays some deep stuff and the music is better than the crap today XM17 - Prime Country - Plays mostly mullet country (better than some of today's country) XM41 - Hair Nation - Plays a good mix of hard rock and power ballads XM46 - Classic Vinyl - Good traveling music XM49 - Classic Rewind - See 80's on 8, but plays harder rock instead of soft rock I rarely ever listen to local radio anymore, but in my car which doesn't have satellite radio, my radio is set to 101.5.
  8. Speaking of Taco Bell, I eat there almost every day and it is very cost-effective. I can get three soft shell tacos (meat and cheese only), an order of nacho chips, and a pop for around $5.
  9. Song: Love Kills Artist: Vinnie Vincent Invasion (with Mark Slaughter on lead vocals) Great 80's hair metal power ballad from 1988. This originally appeared in Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master. Previous song: Song: We Still Rydin Artist: ButtaScotch Swirl (local white rapper) I posted the video to this song and another ButtaScotch Swirl song in the YouTube thread.
  10. Here are a couple of videos of a white rapper from my hometown, ButtaScotch Swirl. "Ur Sucha Bitch" "We Still Rydin" I actually know this guy and his videos are very funny.
  11. Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure back on Good Friday. This is sad and pathetic considering I have a park with seven coasters 70 miles from me.
