  4. Still depends on how tall you are, but it's definitely not as egregious as last year for people under 5'10" or so. Bringing back the old trains would still be the most desirable option, but the new ones have gotten better.
  5. Bizarro has its good days and its bad days. On its good days, it lives up to its reputation in every possible way. On its bad days, it's still decent, but it shows its age. It was absolutely flying when I last rode it a few weeks ago, but I've seen it on both sides of the spectrum.
  6. Deicide - Between the Flesh and the Void
  7. Yeah, definitely hit Lake Compounce. You can and will do everything worth doing at SFNE in one day and Lake Compounce is a wonderful park that should not be missed.
  8. They could have been cleaning it. Maybe someone pissed all over it or something.

  16. I guess it depends on the park. SFNE is within a stone's throw of Springfield, Hartford, Holyoke, and Chicopee, all of which are very rough cities with gang problems, and it does lead to poorly-behaved and occasionally aggressive and belligerent crowds. I can distinctly recall someone using the single rider line on Bizarro a couple years back and being verbally accosted by a couple of gangbangers who thought that he was cutting; when he made the (very ill-advised) decision to flip them off and keep moving, they started loudly threatening him and throwing gang signs and the attendant very nearly had to call security (I did see another attendant talking them down, so I guess that it was a case of disaster averted).
  17. Six Flags New England has shortened or eliminated several of them because of groups abusing them and multiple instances of altercations between people using or abusing the lines and staff and/or guests that very nearly got violent. Sometimes it was just guests who thought that they were cutting and decided to verbally abuse and threaten people using the lines, other times it was groups who were abusing the lines who became belligerent when told to leave by staff.
  18. Yeah, no shortcuts this year. There used to be one right near the entrance that would take you to Crackaxle Canyon, but it appears that they've started closing it off.
  19. School groups are annoying and often poorly-behaved, but they do clear out en masse between 6-8PM and the park becomes way more manageable. You'll still find groups of kids there throughout the summer (largely summer outreach programs and church youth groups), but they're usually smaller individually and seldom come in all on the same day, which is what tends to happen with school groups. Fridays as a whole tend to be 50/50; they're either really chill or slammed with groups.
  20. Alkaloid - Alter Magnitudes
  21. Protest the Hero - Limb from Limb
  22. Weekend crowds at SFNE are invariably massive, poorly-behaved, and never let up. Plan on ponying up for a Flash Pass if you want to enjoy yourself, as the lines will be enormous all day long.
  23. Bedbugs? Jesus christ, dude. I've stayed in some bad hotels over the years, but nothing THAT bad. That's the kind of **** that would make me wonder if the previous occupant of the room hadn't shot up or stuffed $60,000 worth of coke in the mattress as a drop point.
  24. George Kollias - Aeons of Burning Galaxies
  25. Place was slammed with school groups yesterday. Almost all of them were loud and obnoxious and the linecutting was egregious.
