Playland's Castaway Cove Discussion Thread
terdferg replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I always thought ocean city's first "real" coaster would go to Gillian's and I never thought it would be a launch. I can't wait to check this out. -
More riff raff means higher attendance and more coasters. But private tour companies will offer trips, the same way they do to Atlantic city. Won't change anything, but Christie does suck as a governor. Still waiting on that disaster statement for south Jersey for the storms a few weeks back. Still have friends without power. Typical GOP selfish jerk, completely out of touch with his state.

Valleys happen, but are rare. It's crazy to thing something failed at the same time a Valley occurred. I also haven't seen anything on the news, but I do only get cnn since I use the Apple TV as my entertainment system. Usually they are on top of every single wild mouse that doesn't make it to the lift hill. Do any coasters have a way for the computer to know exactly where on the tracks it is? Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to have a sensor every hundred feet or so. -

Polercoaster coming to Atlantic City?
terdferg replied to terdferg's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Casinos are dying, other forms of tourism are taking off. All the doom and gloom is due to a drop in casino revenues. I wouldn't say dying, but changing. -

Being familiar with the city, the location is pretty much right where the expressway ends, and the view coming in would be amazing.

Moreys Piers Discussion Thread

It's crazy to think that it's been 20 years. I remember when the great white was built. I remember seeing kamikaze (even though that was hunts pier) from the beach being too young to ride. I'm glad I finally got ride it (in sfog) this year and have to say it's better than the nor Easter by far. My dream would be topper track on great white and custom rmc for the dual pier woodie. The topper track sections on Georgia cyclone were el toro smooth. I just never really see lines at moreys so I'm sure financially a huge coaster to them is like an average family buying a new car. -

I would love to think that RMC coming onto the scene is the cause of the delay. I mean, a zero g stall over the beach between piers would rule. -
Yea, I think KK's "dual station" design was flawed from the start. If they used a system like TTD's, things would certainly be improved. However, the staffing issues come into play, there - the rolling block system requires more staffing to work effectively. I disagree. When both sides and all four trains were in use, it works wonderfully.

I've given up hope that the new woodie will ever be built
