Cedar Point gif for the win! Loving the report so far, the details you put in are pretty awesome. I'm glad you enjoyed Kennywood. Sorry to hear about your poor trip to Potato Patch though -

I've been wondering about something and hopefully you guys can help me out. I recently bought a Platinum Pass off of Kings Island's website, however I will be attending Cedar Point before I can get my pass processed. Can I still get my platinum pass processed at Cedar Point or do I have to get it processed at KI since I bought it from there? Also any idea of the size of crowds on June 1st? It's a Monday so I know those are usually less busy, however a lot of schools are starting to let out. Thanks!! -

It's so tragic that all these theme park accidents happened on the same day. My condolences go out to everyone that was involved. -

I noticed that as well. Didn't it use to be $50 per person? I wonder why they keep increasing the price of Fast Lane. However I do have to say it is worth every penny. Being able to ride all the big (E-Ticket) rides multiple times and with minimal wait definitely makes any trip to Cedar Point so much easier and lots of fun! -
I'm glad I wasn't the only one surprised by how Gunter looked in person, don't get me wrong I think he's an absolute hunk so I'm not really complaining. ^Agreed All things about Gunter aside hopefully I can get out to BGW and ride this thing, it's been YEARS since I've been to the park so it would be a blast to see all the new rides. Thanks for the PTR Chuck!

Wow I'm surprised they showed us that much! Especially the drop sequence, it definitely looks like its got some umph to it as well. I'm extremely excited about Verbolten now and I'm trying to find a way out there to get on this ride. The only problem will be dragging my boyfriend along with me. haha

I'm honestly not one bit upset about WildCat being removed. While it did provide a nice thrill for families. I was always sort of scared of it's safety. Maybe Cedar Point can put a new family coaster in soon? Something that can appease everyone like Backlot Stunt Coaster at Kings Island or maybe even something Verbolten like (I know dream big). But that's just my two cents. -
Favorite Standalone Haunts?
diverguy59 replied to Stephen G's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know Ohio has some GREAT Haunted Houses. Some of my favorites are Haunted Hoochie/Dead Acres -Pataskala, OH Dead Acres/Haunted Hoochie This haunt is just f**king insane! The actors grab at you, put their chainsaws against your body and legs, plus totally invade your personal space. The wait can sometimes be 2+ hours. But it's totally worth it in my opinion. Plus they now have a 3D maze which I hear is also pretty cool. The Terror Fest-Columbus, OH TerrorFest The special effects, props, and sets in this house are pretty good for a Columbus haunt. I had a great time at this haunted house. It also helps that the place is ALL INDOORS! So even if it's raining, which it tends to do that a lot in Ohio during October, you can still stay dry and enjoy a scary good time. Lastly I haven't been to this one but I'm planning on driving out to visit it, is the Ohio State Reformatory's Haunted Prison Experience. Haunted Prison Experience I'm pretty excited about this haunt because I haven't really heard anything bad about it. I'm a big scardey cat but I LOVE being scared and this seems like it will be a great place to test my limits. Even though I have never been. I do hear however that The Dent Schoolhouse is another AMAZING haunt in the Cincinnati,OH area. The Dent Schoolhouse So if you are anywhere near these haunts or feel like making a trip I say definitely check them out! -

As much as I would have loved to see a new ride or even Roller Coaster. I have to say Dinosaurs Alive and a New Mat Slide for Soak City isn't incredibly bad. It's definitely helping making Cedar Point a little more family friendly than just a place for Thrill Seekers to go get their adrenaline high. -
Hey guys I'm visiting Chicago for the 4th of July holiday and a trip to Six Flags Great America has been planned. I'm really excited because the last time I was at this park Giant Drop had just opened! (which was 1997 for all of you who don't know). I was just wondering how have crowds been so far this year? More specifically how busy is it on the weekdays? We plan on going July 5th or 6th and I'm trying to figure out if it would be beneficial to buy a Flash Pass for the day or not. One last thing if I do get a Flash Pass can someone please explain the difference between the Regular, Gold and Platinum Flash Passes, I'm sort of confused on how it works. Thanks

So a couple of things. Cedar Point has finally reached 500,000 fans of Facebook! So because of this they have decided to start releasing clues as to what next years ride will be The first clue I believe was just posted moments ago on their Facebook page The 1st clue to Cedar Points new ride? [EDIT] FeelTheForce beat me to it! but I have to agree with him it looks like "AIRtImE" but do the caps mean something?[EDIT] Second of all After taking a recent trip on August 13-14 I finally got to ride Shoot The Rapids TWICE . I absolutely loved the ride. The concept is great and when working properly the ride can be really fun. However I have to say it is probably Cedar Point's worst investment. First off my boyfriend and I didn't even get to ride the ride until 9:00 at night. Which stinks cause unlike Florida when it gets dark in Ohio the temperature usually drops a significant amount making the ride a little less than enjoyable cause 70 degree weather and water rides don't mix well. Anyways moving on our 1st day at Cedar Point STR opened around 9:00 and they had us all loaded up and ready to go. But then when the ride broke down on us and they had to evacuate all the boats in the station using a generator to open up the restraints as the ride completely shut down on them. I was fairly pissed being that I had been hanging around that area of the park all day just to ride STR and because I just spent $2 on a locker moments ago because no bags were allowed past the railroad tracks. Fortunately they gave me my money back an apologized for what had happened. The 2nd night the ride opened up again around 9:00 but only after like 30 minutes of testing using some Cedar Point employees as a test boat for a couple of runs. Now here is where I run into a major problem. A family of about 5 or 6 people were in front of us and were about to fill up the boat, but since me and my boyfriend combined are a total weight of about 375+ pounds we had to sit in the very front of the boat, this upset the family because the father and son of about 8 years old really wanted to ride in the front. The ride op was nicely trying to explain why they couldn't sit in the front to the family but they weren't really buying it. Eventually it all got worked out but the family was fairly bitter the entire ride. My boyfriend and I ended up riding STR twice and had a very nice rest of the evening. I hope to God they figure out what the F**K is wrong with this ride and why it is messed up as much as it is. This ride is really fun and when operating when its 85+ Degrees would be a lot more enjoyable than operating when its 70 outside and almost closing time. God Luck Cedar Point -Gabe -

I love getting drenched. Especially when its a hot day so this ride was made for me. But also if I know I'm going to go on water rides, I usually bring a change of clothes. Like for when it gets cooler in the evening I can change into nice warm clothes and not worry about being soaked all day. But thanks for the PTR of Shoot The Rapids. It looks great can't wait to ride it in 2 weeks! -
Awesome trip report dude. I can't wait to go to Cedar Point myself!

I'm planning my trip depending on when STR opens. But then again I'm only 2 hours away from Cedar Point. So it easily is like a day trip for me. Anyways can't wait to go cause I finally got a Platinum Pass. WOOT WOOT -
Is it sad that I may cry a little bit because all of this amazing theming is now gone? I had such good times at IOA especially in The Lost Continent! I'm a little upset that Harry Potter of all things has now taken over it. I just feel they could do so much better with the theming for the Dragons. Maybe we'll see more in the future and maybe we won't but hands down Lost Continent will forever be one of the best themed areas of a park I have EVER been too. But I do have to say while I am upset about a lot of the change, I am also really excited to see how this whole Harry Potter thing turns out.

Can we just go back to being excited for a new ride? Personally I can't wait to ride it. I LOVE water rides, so I was pretty excited when they announced this STR!
