  1. Here's a good one from Knoebels' facebook page. This is right in the middle of a lot of people sending their best wishes to the park because of the flooding. The response from Knoebels: Then, the response from the OP (who is an adult, by the way):
  2. ^We get what you're saying. But you might be the only person in TPR history to say KK's "airtime" hill has any airtime whatsoever. And there are top hats with airtime. Go ride Storm Runner or Sky Rocket in the front and report back about how much airtime those top hats have. I've even caught a small pop while riding in the front of TTD, but nothing major.
  3. ^I've never noticed any airtime on the KK hill. I've noticed severe vibrations that make me feel like I'm sitting on a jackhammer, but no airtime.
  4. ^You should probably never ride El Toro then. Or Cheetah Hunt. In fact, I think something like Fiesta Express is more your speed.
  5. Why not Poland? Or Liechtenstein? Maybe even Slovakia? Actually, I got it. Belarus!
  6. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
  7. It slows down going up the hill, then gets slowed WAY down by the trims, and it doesn't really go that fast cresting the hill before the (former) water bombs. I would say it's going 55 mph MAX when it hits those canyons, possibly slower.
  8. ^Isn't the Alpengeist entrance right where Germany begins, right after you cross the bridge out of New France?
  9. ^From what I've heard from someone who is pretty reliable, Gravity Group didn't want to give their trains to Holiday World until they retracked basically the entire ride. No use giving these trains to the park if the track is still a mess. At that point, it would be lipstick on a pig.
  10. ^Where do you see anything about the launch being 74 mph? It's advertised everywhere as 70.
  11. So I guess El Toro's airtime hills suck then?
  12. ^In fairness, the banjo plays in the New France section, which is Canada, which has backwoods areas, which I guess can be connected to banjos.
  13. ^In my five years working in parks, I would say you are absolutely correct. It's really like that in any customer service-related industry. Adults have more of a perspective on life and how to treat people, younger kids just want to collect a paycheck and go home with the least amount of effort possible. It's very, very hard to make 16-20 year olds truly care about providing a positive guest experience.
  14. ^I do agree on Dale, that guy is awesome. He also gives a very appreciative "Thank you!" when I ride by myself and I pull the empty restraint down and buckle it before he gets there. Now let's clone about 20 younger Dales and get them working that ride.
  15. I can tell you right now, the line for Drop Tower does NOT move as fast as the Mach Tower line did yesterday. Not only do they load half of Drop Tower, they also take nearly five minutes per cycle. You spend more time sitting in the ride on the ground waiting on them to FINALLY finish checking restraints than you do actually riding the ride!
  16. I would say KD has the slowest ride ops of any Cedar Fair park I've been to. Carowinds' ops are horrible in some areas of the park, but in the front of the park (pretty much the only place the manager cares about), they do an awesome job. Dorney's ops were doing a fantastic job last month, and CP's ops blow every other park in the chain out of the water. Haven't experienced KBF enough to know a lot about theirs, but the one time I was there, they did a pretty good job (same with KI the few times I've been there). But KD has consistently been the worst, year in and year out.
  17. I rode Mach Tower today, thought it was a neat ride. The rotation on the way up is definitely a very cool experience, as you get an awesome view of EVERYTHING around the park, including a great bird's eye view of Verbolten construction. I only waited half an hour, and I thought the loading process was good, save for the fact that a couple of different times they handed out too many cards and had an extra person with no seat to sit in. The drop itself actually surprised me, it was a longer free fall than I was expecting. Is the drop as good as the giant drop towers? No, but it still wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. The vibrating seats were a nice touch, as well. The music didn't do much for me, just standard theme park cheese. I'll give them kudos for enhancing the drop ride experience, just wish the damn thing had opened sooner.
  18. Especially when they literally have one person checking the entire train. It takes anywhere from 5-7 minutes for one dispatch. I'd hate to see their cycle counts on some days.
  19. ^I'm rarely ever at the park at night, but I've gotten one or two night rides this year. It's definitely a great ride at night.
  20. I haven't seen more than one train running on 305 since the spring, and I only go on weekdays. It's a shame that I have to wait in some ridiculous line on a dead day because they only feel like running one train on their best ride. Most of my 305 rides during the summer have come in that 10 minute early-entry period at the beginning of the day. After 11, the line is back in the queue and I refuse to wait that long for a ride I've ridden 35 times in one day before (without waiting longer than 10 minutes).
  21. Meteor at Little Amerricka. Ivy = was originally located at Kiddytown in north Chicago, near Wrigley Field Logs = built out of wood Illinois = originally located in Illinois Bolt = many bolts hold it together Supernova = space event, meteors are also in space
  22. Did/does the ride operate on a waterfront?
  23. Tiger Terror at Safari Land. Illinois = it's in Illinois Ivy = located near Addison, Wrigley Field is on West Addison Street, ivy walls Steel = steel coaster Bolt = you see a tiger, you're terrified, you bolt Submarine = the Chicago subway system stops near here? (there's a train stop, but I don't think it's underground) Hidden = the coaster is hidden inside a building Desire = I desire to be done with this contest.
