  1. What on Earth would possess you to do this?
  2. My lap count is only completely accurate for the last two years, and everything before that is a rough estimate, but according to Coaster Counter, I've traveled 1533.44 miles (2467.83 km). I have climbed 61.79 miles and dropped 49.21 miles. I have somewhere between 2500 and 3000 lifetime laps I think. I'd like to know what someone like Robb or Roger Bannister's mileage would be, although I highly doubt they have laps counted.
  3. 305 has a monstrous box-lattice structure holding the lift track. I think the structure under the track on this one has to be different because of the track width needed to support the trains. Here's a picture I took when the ride was still lying around in the parking lot.
  4. Larry got it right. I'm not entirely sure how I was able to swing 9 of them in one day. I started at Jenkinson's and ended at Morey's, and I think I just got lucky with the traffic on the Garden State Parkway and in Atlantic City (even got lost in AC for a little bit trying to find Steel Pier). I skipped Storybook Land, too. Getting all the credits would be rather impressive, as a few were closed that day (it was early in the season). I also missed the one Wacky Worm because I'm an idiot and didn't remember it was there. The one thing that helped me with Morey's is that it was open until 10 or 11 that night, and I needed just about every second of that to get every credit there since it was pretty crowded. Best of luck whenever you try it!
  5. This ride is certainly starting to look good. Hopefully they don't hit any construction snags during the winter.
  6. Whore on the Shore is the only way to go. Doing all those in one day is one of my proudest accomplishments, although I didn't to Keansburg or Clementon that day. I didn't have a stalker following me, though, so you get bonus points for that.
  7. While I'm not of the thought that CP has to build a new coaster every other year, they definitely need to keep going back to their bread and butter that made them famous. I'm all for creating an all-around experience for guests, but CP is still a coaster park, so I hope Ouimet keeps that in mind.
  8. I've had some 2-2.5 hour waits in my time, most recently the 2 hour wait for Cheetah Hunt on opening day, but it's extremely rare that I'll ever wait that long for anything I've already ridden. If I see a wait of over half an hour for just about anything these days, I'm moving on to the next ride. I absolutely can't stand waiting in line!
  9. ^That's pretty bad, but I must admit, I'm obsessed with getting every credit within a day's drive, so it also just means you're not completely insane.
  10. ^That'll happen eventually. Jen and I will make a big Gulf coast credit run one day. I'll question my own sanity for driving to Naples from Orlando for a kiddie credit, but I've done far worse for roller coasters.
  11. Another Florida credit I'll need. I'm glad I live here now!
  12. Coaster is one of those rides that's on my bucket list, which is why I'm stoked at the possibility for a NW trip next year. Although splitting loyalties between the NW and Scandinavia is going to be nearly impossible.
  13. So how soon is it before the rides side of the park is closed off forever?
  14. Mean Streak was absolutely smoother last year than in years past. No matter how smooth it is, though, it'll never change the fact that the layout is painfully boring and uneventful.
  15. ^The Carowinds version is an Intamin. Can't speak for the rest, though.
  16. Can't make Jaws tomorrow, don't have the funds for a ticket/pass right now. However, I might make it out to say (temporary) bye to the penguins at SWO at some point in the afternoon.
  17. ^They wouldn't do that because it wouldn't make one shred of sense.
  18. ^KD hasn't changed much in that regard. I'm not sure I ever left that park in a good mood after any of my several visits this year.
  19. ^Entirely possible, but he still followed his plan for retirement that he laid out 5 years ago. Now let's just hope he didn't pull a Favre and send any CF interns pictures of Little Dick.
  20. 21/26 with some educated guesses.
  21. Am I the only one who remembers that Kinzel was going to retire in 2012 regardless? He was going to retire in 2007, then said he was going to stay on for 5 more years to see the Paramount acquisition through. So the only thing that was his "undoing" was his own plan to retire.

  23. I do want to say that based on my visit to the park today, the operations has gotten much better at the park since May. I definitely give the criticism, but I'll give credit when it's due, as well. Sheikra's crew was showing some signs of urgency for the first time maybe ever, Gwazi's crew was moving quickly and dispatching trains together, something I've NEVER seen, Montu's crew was about par for the course, but not horrible, and Kumba was doing a good job, as well. Cheetah Hunt's crew was moving horrifically slowly, though. The line was 60 minutes later in the day, and I wonder how much the crew had to do with that as opposed to the number of people in line. Either way, fun day at the park, and a pretty light crowd for being a Saturday (thank you, Christmas Eve!).
