  1. Early weather forecast for WCB is 67 and sunny for SFMM, 65 and sunny for KBF. That's some damn fine coaster riding weather if you ask me.
  2. ^ Summer baby. < Christmas baby. V Crybaby!
  3. ^Seriously? Well that sucks. I suppose if Robb is giving out Club TPR membership cards at WCB I could make it happen. Otherwise, it's not a big deal to skip it. Either that or he just lets me borrow KT.
  4. ^That might be closer to what it's like. My friend didn't do the best job in the world at explaining it, I'll have to ask him again before I leave. The basic principle behind it was if you get in and out before an hour's up it's no cost to you.
  5. ^I'll be sure to pay RipCord a visit when I stop by the Point in June. I gotta find out which of my former crew is still there this year, not sure if there's even anyone coming back that I worked with.
  6. As has already been said, skycoasters are absolutely a blast to work. I almost went back to being regular crew on Ripcord instead of a TL this year, just because it's so much fun. It's been tough the last two seasons not working at a Skycoaster like I did my first three seasons. Thankfully my career is moving forward, but I'll always remember my roots!
  7. ^I'm sure they give you a ticket with the time on it so when you leave, if it's been over an hour, you gotta pay up.
  8. ^What my friend told me was that when you get there, you can tell them you want to just shop. They give you a ticket with a time on it, and you go in. All the coasters are in the shopping area, and have no ticket takers or anything. You can just get in line and ride them while you're "shopping," and if you leave before an hour is up, there's no charge. It's kinda like when you park at an airport and leave within half an hour and they don't make you pay anything. The only drawback is, apparently the lines are kinda long so it's tough to get all three in an hour.
  9. ^Luckily, I already have all the Kennywood credits (minus Sky Rocket, of course). So if Sky Rocket isn't ready by the time I go on that trip, I'm just not going to go to Kennywood. The good thing is, Knoebel's is open until 10 that night, I'll be starting bright and early, there aren't a ton of credits to be had at those parks, and I have a lead foot.
  10. So a little change of plans, looks like I'll be heading to SFOG this Saturday. My friend who is coming to WCB with me is coming up for the weekend and since we have nothing better to do and have to make our first use of our SF season passes at SFOG, we'll be there on Saturday. So expect a few pics!
  11. ^Legoland is just going to be a quick stop. I know if you get in there and out within an hour it's free (according to a few colleagues who went there in November), so we're just going to get whatever of the three credits we can in an hour. After that, we're just taking our time and doing a bit of sight seeing in LA because the rides don't open at Pacific Park until 6 that night, which is kind of nice. Probably going to do dinner at Ivy At The Shore right there near the pier, as well.
  12. ^I think the reason they toned down the splash size is because of how bad the deceleration would have been hitting deeper water at that speed. You come down that drop pretty fast, so it wouldn't feel too good to be slammed into the lap bar. Either way, you still get plenty wet on PP. Water gets splashed up onto you during the drop, and then the final splashdown after the run out gets you soaked. So it's not the size of the splash that matters, just how they use it.
  13. ^Yep, they are open 10-6 on Easter Sunday. If there's one thing I've learned from working at parks, it's that they don't close for holidays. I also think that since it's only a Christian holiday that people who aren't religious or practice another religion may get upset with the park for shutting down on Easter. That's a slippery slope.
  14. ^Ok I lied. Just watched The Hurt Locker, could definitely see how it won the cinematography and director Oscars. While I thought it was a great film (and INTENSE! holy crap!), I still think Inglourious Basterds was better. Just my opinion, though.
  15. ^ Sunny in his home. < Sunny where the sun don't shine. V Sunny D!
  16. So I'll just jump on the bandwagon of hosting a thread to document my travels this season, as I should have a TON. 17. ^^I also don't see how IB didn't get the cinematography Oscar.
  18. Guys try using kayak.com to find a hotel room. I've found hotel rooms for all 4 nights I'll be out there for less than $200 combined. And two of the four rooms are 3-stars, they aren't just some janky, craptastic, hole in the wall rooms.
  19. ^Certainly hasn't received the outrageous amount of obsession that Maverick did. Then again, there's no reason it should. I don't think they were going for a "big splash" ride in this case (pardon the pun).
  20. Looks like things are coming along nicely!
  21. NO. Everyone that wants to ride "Percy" should not attend WCB. Deal with it. JJ No need to get upset over it, I'm pretty sure everyone that's mentioned it has been joking. -Steve "Can't we joke about things anymore?" Burant
  22. ^ Feels the power. < HAS THE POWERRRRRR!!!!!! V Just can't do it, captain, they don't have the power!
