Anyone know of any sizable discounts for Busch Gardens Europe, Kings Dominion and Hersheypark. We are headed up there in less than 3 weeks and would like to know if there is anything we can get to save some money on this random/last minute trip

Pull throughs are used to check track gauges and as well as clearences sometimes. Although they do have PVC frames to check clearences, the pull through is used to check the tracks for any adjustments that may hinder the trains path through the track. It's used on steel coasters alot .. and requires the used of a crane most of the time, but I can't see a reason one couldn't of been performed here, aside from cost.

I say why don't we all calm down .. let the people do their work and not bother them .. ensure it works .. let the state say OK .. then ride .. you press them or bother them .. they will not enjoy this. I'm certain nothing is wrong with the engineering of the ride or the design, just little construction mishaps that occur when you have to build something piece by piece instead of having pre-made sections to bolt together.

Celebration City at night PTR

That's funny .. the chase lights were working June 16-18. -
Worse comes to worse .. they may have to reprofile the turn and drop .. similar to what they did on many of the huge woodies of the early 90s (ie: Texas Giant, Mean Streak, Rattler). Hopefully .. with the gauge and track adjustments and the fact it did make it further it's second run .. is a good sign .. it's living material .. so it does take a while to break in.

Any info on the new "Tailwind" ultracoaster?
coaster1 replied to trufflesnouter's topic in Ask Alvey
Where's the proof of construction? Have photos of piers being poured, steel on site .. granted .. proof that they are for a ride and not a new hot dog stand or dippin' dots location. -
^ although knowing Landry's, they will just open it one day .. granted that's still 2+ weeks away .. since you still need State certification and oodles of testing and adjustments and .. there will most likely NOT be a media event .. about 99.99999999999998% confirmed they will just open it with no or very very little fanfare.

Frontier City observation/ question
coaster1 replied to coastermanokc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
hmm .. it ran in June 2006 when we were there. It's a Vekoma "Hawk" style ride, one of the few I know of .. it was a perm mount and was possibly sold off to another park. Very very small area .. doubt anything large could go there. www.lonestarthrills.com/gallery2/v/Frontier-City/General-Photos/fc_tomahawk003.jpg.html www.lonestarthrills.com/gallery2/v/Frontier-City/General-Photos/fc-tomahawk004.jpg.html -
Mr. Freeze to turn RED!
coaster1 replied to adc9787's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sticks with Mr Freeze theme from the original comic book .. as Mr Freeze wore red and blue .. they tend to sway more towards the 1960s style Batman/Robin comics more than modern at SFOT -
