  1. My advice: Choose to listen to it or not... Get to Six Flags Magic Mountain at opening (before it opens). Walk in the direction of X2/Viper (north from the front gate--same direction--not actually north I don't think). Watch all the kids/teens run to X2 and look at them have to wait in a line and be told that the ride isn't open yet and that they're aren't sure when exactly the ride will open. From there, continue to walk/speed walk to Terminator Salvation: The Ride and Deja Vu (Cyclone Bay). Ride both of them then head downward to Goldrusher, Riddler's Revenge, Batman, Scream, Colossus, and Goliath (all in this order). Take a break; maybe go to Mooseburger Lodge and enjoy a tasty burger. Actually treat yourself to a tasty burger for being able to ride the majority of the rides in under 3 hours. Worry about Revolution, Tatsu, X2, Ninja, Superman, and Viper for later. This plan will result you with a 1-2 hour wait for X2 on a typical summer day. Wait to ride Tatsu in the late afternoon, early evening. The line usually gets shorter than compared to the early afternoon (or right in the morning... when all the people get off X2 and think of riding Tatsu). * Revolution should never have a line. * Don't bother riding Superman if there's a line sticking out the front entrance... unless you care for credits.. you should have time to wait it out though if you would choose to. * Viper should not have much of a line that would discourage you to ride. * Ninja - if you're planning on going in the next month or so, it'll probably be closed. * Tatsu - line shouldn't be longer than 30 minutes in the mid afternoon (4:00 PM) ** Of course, this is based on my experiences going on a Sunday and two Fridays this past summer. In essence, going for Cyclone Bay knocks off two birds with one stone, I think. Terminator and Deja Vu have some of the longest waits in this park, behind X2. Tatsu doesn't even have that long of a line in my experience compared to Deja Vu. So there's a lot of time savings there. Also, you're on the right side of the park which means limited wait for rides like Riddler's, etc if you pursue it quickly. It takes a while for the GP to MIGRATE over on the right end of the park. Good luck and have fun.
  2. ^^ wow, I was going to go to MM today, but dang it! I still hope I can go on Sunday. I think I may just get lucky... from what I just saw on the news... its gonna rain throughout the week.. but for Sunday... cloudy.. no rain. I hope that is how it goes.
  3. Wow, this debate is really going strong. On an unrelated note, does anyone know when X2 will be open again? It seems like it will be closed this weekend. I'm hoping it will be open for Superbowl weekend.
  4. What a waste of money and efforts if this stands. They should have used these funds and efforts to go toward a Kingda Ka clone for 2011. Not only do we get a "family" roller coaster that nullifies the family aspect of it all, which makes the ride practically useless.
  5. Since they made this ride with a ridiculous height requirement can we now all agree that it pretty nullifies the point of having this ride in the first place? LOL
  6. Who's planning on going to Six Flags MM on Feb 7? I wonder if X2 will be open by then. I'm going to bring my brother to Six Flags and he's never been on X or X2 for a matter of fact. I'm hoping for great weather and that the ride will be open then.
  7. I'm 19. The first roller coaster I think I rode was Jaguar (Knotts Berry Farm). I was not tall enough to ride Montezuma's Revenge. I don't know what year this was...probably 1996 or 1997. Anyways, I remember my uncle took me to Six Flags Magic Mountain in 1998 and I wasn't tall enough to ride the two premier rides at the time, Batman: The Ride or Riddler's Revenge. lol.
  8. If you guys had to rank all the [non-junior] roller coasters in this park on the basis of your enjoyment, preference, etc... well, how do you rank the roller coasters we have? 1. Goliath 2. X2 3. Tatsu 4. Riddler's Revenge 5. SCREAM! 6. Deja Vu 7. Terminator Salvation: The Ride 8. Batman: The Ride 9. Viper 10. Colossus 11. Revolution 12. Ninja 13. Goldrusher 14. Superman: The Escape I'm most likely to start my day with Goliath. And least likely to want to ride Superman: The Escape. Though I usually intend to ride all these rides every time I make a trip to the Mountain.
  9. ^^ I'm all for Six Flags MM being like Cedar Point and building more roller coasters. But they have to do what's best for maximizing their profits, if they're even earning a profit at all. Going the fully roller coaster route wasn't adding up exactly as perhaps anticipated. Who knows if they'll deviate from there a little. Anyways what makes Cedar Point so great is not just the roller coasters they have, but also the flat rides. I would be happy if we could get some flat rides.... even some that are at Knotts.. like the one next to Perilous Plunge.. whatever that one is called . We need (thrill) flats! Yes, Superman: The Escape should be torn down, just to be torn down because it is HORRIBLE. But that's my opinion. I don't speak for the GP. The GP certainly think otherwise... i.e. 'Superman is the best ride in the park'
  10. ^^ tee hee. (About) Colossus... I would be all for it getting a make over. I think Six Flags MM is getting to the point that it has everything (roller coaster wise) and does not need anything more.... we just need our Kingda Ka clone, of course But I, awill961, approve of a Colossus makeover. The first drop is the only ride that gives me the drop stomach feeling, butterflies in your stomach sensation or w/e it is... not even Goliath or X give me that feeling. I'd say do it!
  11. .... Terminator was ACHIEVING 2 hour wait times when it was running one train this past summer. I waited 145 minutes for it this past July Does this count?
  12. Great news: Freefall is unplanningly MAKING A COMEBACK this summer! Courtesy of SixFlagsMM Via Twitter! No. 1 Trusted SixFlagsMM update source.
  13. Instead of making a scene, it would be much, much, more productive to leave a note at Guest Relations about what you saw. I can only hope he will go by this advice rather than mine
  14. Oh, they will. I even think they have too many staff on certain rides during the summer. One ride in particular where they employ too many people, I think, is Riddlers Revenge... there's people standing around...totally not really needed. As for the motivating part, you should call them out on it. Tell them they're not doing their job or to some effect...and make a scene out of it...
  15. ^^ Hopefully they repaint Scream next. That's something I would like to see... maybe even like Medusa's (SFDK) colors and get rid of the parking lot underneath.
  16. Well it is sort of hard to judge on your first ever visit and if I didn't have it then I would have been queuing for 2 hours for tatsu and about an hour for Colossus. I will try to go back but to me the park seems like a bigger version of Thorpe Park - it's fun with friends because you are making jokes and don't really take much notice of the scenery but you try to avoid most other people. Also, are the roller coaster stations normally just a jumble of people with no staff member directing anyone? I understand, man. To be honest with you, that was just a bad day. If the park had that many ride closures, I think it should have warranted a park closure. I wasn't sure if you were recommended a flash pass or not... usually when there are people on this board that are talking about going to SFMM, some recommend that they buy a flash pass...which I think is unnecessary. If you have a great attack plan and familiarize yourself with the park, in many cases it will be unnecessary. I agree with some of the things mentioned above about being able to get in more rides... that's probably true. I guess there's a benefit there, but I still prefer to go without it. Damn.. I would not wait 2 hours for Tatsu...I wouldn't wait more than 5 minutes for Colossus. ...this sounds really painful. Some rides are staffed with employees that direct people... rides like Tatsu, X, Deja Vu, for example all have additional staff for this purpose (you know, to limit the amount of people in the immediate station). I hate it for Deja Vu because I sometimes have to go with row I don't want (I like row 16)... but usually I just get to the park early and ride Deja Vu and Terminator first in the morning. ...so I digress.... Anyways, I don't understand what you mean about it being a bigger version of Thorpe Park. Could you elaborate a little more?
  17. First: I like your name. OK, I think you can get discounted tickets via Six Flags.com (online) for around $27.99 right now. Goliath should be open, now... from what they said. But according to the SF site... it is closed. So is Ninja and Deja Vu. Let's see what other people say.... I'm going by what the site says. Good luck and have fun.
  18. I know I got a bad day, my luck with theme parks is very low (going to Legoland Windsor on the first day ever it was closed due to weather to name one experience) but I am annoyed with the way the park handled it. They could of ran both tracks on Colossus and Superman which were both open and stuggling to handle the queues they were getting as a result of the other ride's closures. I may try again if my parents want to go back to the LA area but we normally only go abroad for long trips once a year and I found queuing for the rides my sister wouldn't do somewhat intimidating and the looks I got with the flashpass were pretty nasty. It's a pity because nearly all of the rides I got on I found amazing. lol Give SFMM another chance. It's a great park. You just went at the wrong time. I've gone to Six Flags MM in December before (Dec 30, 2005 to be exact-- when Tatsu's lift hill was just erected ), but I didn't go through the extent of annoyances as you have. I don't recall much annoyances actually. Anyways, I don't think the park would have ran both sides of Superman or Colossus anyways.... if they don't run them ever simulataneously, I don't see why they should in this scenario. The day wasn't a good day to go to the park. I think the park shouldn't have been open that day in particular. I don't know why everyone recommends people the flashpass, as if it is essential to experience these rides, I personally never buy it and see no reason really.....but whatever. I do find it annoying when people have the flash pass and they take your spot on a ride like Superman...so I kinda feel for those who show you their nasty looks haha.
  19. I wish Superman: The Escape at SFMM could be torn down. I hate this ride. What makes me mad is my friends like it and every time we go they want to ride the ride... so I have to WASTE an 30 minutes to an hour of my SF day on this POS ride. I will admit that the park would look weird with it gone, down, but it is EXTREMELY LAME. I don't feel anything riding this ride... the acceleration is HORRIBLE, and the drop sucks. I would feel different if they did this ride backwards... then I could enjoy the drop at least.
  20. Question: How long do lines usually get for processing season passes in January?
  21. Sorry to hear all about the hurdles some of you guys have to deal with at the moment regarding the Xtreme Pass. Also, thanks for all the responses regarding the food discount. I figured I'd buy the Xtreme Pass anyway.... since it is merely $20 more than a play pass with parking... what the hell, you know? I got a car recently so I'll be doing a lot of driving to and from the Mountain.
  22. Hey EBL, or anyone else with an Xtreme Pass ? ? I was considering purchasing an Xtreme Pass, but I just had a few questions regarding it. Does the 25% discount on food apply to every food place in the park? Other than that, as for the regular play pass... do you guys still think that Six Flags is providing the $10 gift card with purchase?
  23. ^^^ I hope the removal of Superman is not because they intend on changing this ride. Why the hell would SFMM do a transformation on S:TE The ride is horrible. I have friends though that really want to come to SFMM (they live out of state) and they think of S TE as one of the best rides in the park. I just laugh... because I'm sure most of us know how it really is. I'd say wait. I'm guessing you go to other six flags parks anyways....right? I'm wait and just buy a 2010 season pass, be able to ride these rides, blah, blah, blah.
  24. I say "yeah!!!" prior to descending down a drop..... or a go "woooo!"
