  2. sadly, i cannot think of any intamin coasters that i have been on. i live in florida, so most of my coasters are B&M's (unless i go to disney). so i have to vote for B&M. But i do wish to ride many intamin coasters in the future!
  3. i saw this video on youtube where some guy who is in desperate love with King's Dominion made a video comparing BGE with KD. He said that Appolo's Chariot was a mini hyper because it is only 170 ft tall. so i posted a comment saying that technically it is a hyper coaster because it has a 210 ft drop. so the maker of the video commented back saying that a hyper is 200 ft tall, it has nothing to do with the drop
  4. as straight as a ball...o wait...just straight.
  5. Relient K at Busch Gardens Africa Going to see Blink 182 in September!
  6. ^ i was thinking about that too. if the tips of the wings were to skim the water, then the spray would only hit the passengers behind it! but it would make one sweet water coaster!!!
  7. The dispatch interval may be 23 seconds, but that doesn't mean it will only spend 23 seconds in the station, because they two figures aren't directly linked. The quickest explanation would be to compare with a car assembly line. Eg a car factory here in Australia has a car coming off the line every 3 minutes, but that doesn't mean they only have 3 minutes to make a whole car. On rides with continous loading (Eg Rapids Rides, People Mover, Mullholland Madness etc) the vehicles slow right down once they enter the station and all 'bunch together'. The station is designed to be long enough, and the vehicles moving slowly enough, so that they take enough time to get through it. Once they get to the end of the station they are free to speed up again (So the lift won't be as slow as we are seeing it) To do a calculation, say you made a loading station 20m (66ft) long, with vehicles going through at 2 km/h (1.2 mph) To have a 23 second dispatch interval the vehicles would be trailing each other with a spacing of about 13m (43ft) But, passengers would still have 36 seconds to load in and out because thats how long it would take them to get through the station. So you can see that if they wanted to give people more time to load, they could slow the vehicles down, or make the station longer. i guess i didn't make myself clear. when i read it the first time, i misunderstood it and thought they would get the train through in 23 seconds. ok, i thought wrong. and i do believe i dropped this in my last post.
  8. interesting! so they will have to walk against the people mover to stay in their spot! very cool...NOT!!! Hey! an interview with the designer of HRRR!!!!!! http://www.thecoastercritic.com/2009/05/interview-designer-of-hollywood-rip-ride-rockit.html
  9. guys guys GUYS! calm down. I just meant that I thought it sounds interesting with the people mover, and I am wondering how they will accommodate with a person in a wheelchair if they expect to have trains to go through the station in 23 seconds. now, maybe I read it wrong, and coastercritic means that there will be a train leaving every 23 seconds, but multiple trains in the station, i dont know. I was just thinking. now i'll just stop talking about this and see it myself in july.
  10. I meant how it will be interesting to try and get a group of people out of a train then another group in with at least one person in a wheelchair, in under 23 seconds. It sounds too quick for me, but maybe I just don't know my time stamps!
  11. ^^ how did they put a totally new coaster up that is sooo similar to medusa?
  12. thanks for the update coastercritic! wow! a people mover??? that is going to be very interesting if a person in a wheel chair wants to ride.
  13. ^^and you misunderstood my post. It's called sarcasm.
  14. A coaster enthusiast was telling me about High Roller...and I had to give him the bad news that it wasn't there anymore. He was pretty sad.
  15. yay! nice and slow to the top...bring on the anticipation.
  16. ^ I'm sure that's never crossed his mind... EDIT: never ever ever
  17. ^wind turbines...DUH!!! I had to go back to page 83 to remember this. I recently went to Busch Gardens with some friends, and one just happens to say "It's awesome when Sheikra goes in on the drop." Me, being the crazy coaster loving and knower of all things coaster (yea right!) says "It is perfectly 90 degrees. It's an illusion from when you lift from your seat then get pushed back the G's" "No it's not!" "Look." He did...he shut up.
  18. what the heck? I didn't even see that! Thanks TPDave!!!

    TPR Trips

Hello Robb. I did your questionaire about upcoming trips, and I was wondering, if you were to have a trip close to my home, would I be able to join you for that theme park, with a smaller fee. Like to join you for the ERT and the banquets that you seem to enjoy. Thanks in advance, Joe
  20. I have heard many funny comments from "GP's", but the best is from the actual parks. At Busch Gardens, I always laugh when they say that Montu goes 65 mph...would be better, but a little exaggeration...
  21. It looks like it will start either on the left of the new stage, or to the left of the jimmy neutron ride. I think the bulk of the queue will be on the back side of that building. dont quote me though, these are just general observations.
  22. I just saw a commercial for manta which i have not seen. well, at the end, it said "open for preview" I guess they haven't made an update yet!
  23. everyone is making me soo giddy about riding this! i'll be there june!
