So... Has anyone figured out how the gold pass early entry works? Back when I bought mine they were advertising select days, but I can't find any details, and now it just says "VIP early entry before other guests" would be nice to know how early... And what days if not every day...

Hello fellow parents out there. My wife is NOT a roller coaster enthusiast. She will go on some family coasters and some tame roller coasters, but most of the coasters I get excited about, she could care less. So, I have a 7 month old son, whom I am HOPING to groom into a young roller coaster officianado by the time he's 54" lol. We took him to calfornia's great america for opening day for the first half of the day, and he was pretty happy for the most part, but he did get just a little scared when a big coaster roared past. I plan on taking him a few more times this season to get him used to the theme park environment. I am looking for tips and do's and don'ts from other parents as far as how to coax him into enjoying thrill rides without scaring him into hating them. THANKS!

Hey, I am about an hour and a half drive from the park, so I can't just make a random trip out there... I got my 2013 extreme pass at the end of 2012, and I was hoping someone could possibly give me a rundown on what coupons are in the coupon book this year? What day's are the bring a friend free coupons, or any other admission discounts. Thanks alot!

WOOHOO! Sounds like we FINALLY got a descent show for Haunt in the Showtime theater huh? Last years was absolutely horrible if you ask me, and the year before was pretty bad too. Hopefully this one is here to stay for a bit, on that note did it sound like the GP liked the show as well? Also another question, is Blood Drums still performed by Street Drum Corps? It was listed as such in the Haunt brochure last year. They are actually a fairly descent drum performance group, I remember seeing them many years ago at an arena festival show, forget where/when. But I remember thinking to myself when I saw Blood Drums last year "Hmm, these guys seem familiar, I wonder..." and sure enough it was them. I hope they are back again this year, they are pretty awesome.

I don't wanna sound like an a-hole, but CF's little park to the north, great america, actually has a haunted log ride as well... While it probably doesn't quite compare to what KSF does with Timber mountain (what with it's indoor section and all), it's still pretty awesome, with actors banging and rapping on the flume as you wind your way through a dark wooded area.

oh wow, what a find! I know there's a chance that it's pure coincidence, but I think there is a HIGHER likelihood of it being an easteregg hint! If this is the case, that's pretty exciting, though I don't know all THAT much about Mack, but I know Sierra sidewinder at KBF is by far my favorite wild mouse/spinning car coaster I have ridden. If it is indeed Mack, my only hope is that it is significantly faster than bluefire...

I 100% agree with this... I don't see why they would have a problem opening this with the park next spring when it re-opens for 2013... I wonder if they will have a season pass preview day!?!??? How awesome would that be! Maybe wishful thinking, but this coaster is absolutely going to prompt me to buy a season pass to the park that is 10 min. from my house for the first time in something like a decade! In the past 5-ish years I have ONLY gone for Haunt [the last 2 or 3 seasons]. Needless to say, I can't wait!

I just don't understand why I keep seeing this idea in this thread? While most of the rumors have been hard to believe, haven't we heard from MULTIPLE sources that the 2013 coaster in LJ's spot will be the longest track in the us/world along with the tallest vertical loop? I don't get how Superman: ultimate flight is even remotely comparable to anything that is likely in LJ's spot. I'm not bashing just really confused.

Thanks for the advice Elissa! I'm hoping it wont be bad the 2nd half of the day on a Thursday, but we will see. The only water park I have been to is Raging Waters in San Jose. I went to Manteca water slides when I was a lot younger but don't remember much of it. Oh and Boomerang bay at CGA, but for some weird reason I didn't go on the slides, only the wave pool and endless river? I don't remember why...

I'm pretty sure your thinking of the Magic Mountain one? I believe the HH one included weekdays in July, I'll verify when I get home [Dammit now I'm worried!] There is no MM coupon for free friend in July, only 50% off weekdays in July. We May get a Flash Pass if it's worth it, hopefully it will be a slow Thursday. And thanks Xceleratorfan96, that's the kind of insight I was looking for!

Well since I wasn't having much luck in the Magic Mountain thread, and I can't find any threads specifically about this park, I figured I start a new post. I will be visiting this park this coming Thursday with my very good friend Jesse. I have HH included on my season pass as well as a bring a friend free coupon, so this won't cost us anything. But I am a fan of watersides and every time I come to SFMM I say to myself "man sometime I wanna go and check that place out"... Well, now's our chance. We are planning to be on property from SFMM opening to closing, 10:30am till 9pm. Sometime in there we are thinking of spending 3-4 hours at Hurricane Harbor. I was hoping someone would be able to give some insight and tips on what slides are worth a 15-30 min wait, which ones we should just not bother with, and which ones we really shouldn't skip. Also any tips on what time of day would be best? So far I am thinking if we head in around 3-4pm, till they close, then back into MM for a few hours, is this a good plan? Thanks alot!

I hope the ridiculous crowds today will mean a slower day next Thursday [i know, not likely to affect it, but one can hope]. Those wait times are just insane... so glad I'm not at the park today. I apologize I should have stated that I have HH on my season pass, and I'm using the friend free coupon for HH for my friend, as well as the 50% off friend's MM admission. I feel like we shouldn't have much of a problem getting on all the major rides as well as Hurricane Harbor in a FULL Thursday. Anyone else with HH input? Thanks alot!

Thanks for the tips LaMapa, and others. Maybe we will take your advice and head to x2 first, Immediately followed by Tatsu. Is there a shortcut from Tatsu's station to Samurai Summit [superman]? Again, any help or tips for Hurricane Harbor are greatly appreciated. Should we try and do just a few coasters in the morning and head to HH before 12 noon? Or should we wait till closer to dinner time?

Woohoo I am heading to the park this Thursday, the 26th for the first time since bash! Pumped to finally ride lex! I'm taking a very good friend of mine that I believe has only been on x2 a few times, and we went on green lantern once when we were there last season (neither of us were feeling well that day so we didn't end up riding a whole lot). So I am planning on going for a full day, open-close with a break in the middle for hurricane harbor. Now neither of us have been to HH before so I would appreciate some recommendations and tips on what slides to be sure to go on and which ones are skippable? Or should we be able to do most of them in say 3 hours on a Thursday afternoon?. Also, a shout out to anyone who has tricks up their sleeve to make the most out of a Thursday at this time of the season (Pm's are welcome). I really want to start the day with LLDOD, but after that I dunno, and later in the day we'll probably re-ride LLDOD via the single rider line, but for our first ride on it we wanna do it together. Also maybe 2 rides on x2? Like I said any tips/ideas are welcome. I hate to be another guy asking this kind of thing in this thread, I know it can be annoying, but I'm just not sure what to expect for crowd disbursement sith LLDOD now and also throwing in hurricane harbor somehow in the day is a first as well (what hours would be best to do this?) Thanks again.

That's a good question. I'm probably heading up Thursday. Hey Robman, wanna hold off and join me? I don't know yet if I am going to have to work or not though, but if I don't I am really hoping to head up to ride the new beast. I'm hoping to get a friend or 2 to tag along, but who knows, I may just go alone if I have to...

Well, my apologies for not posting the pics yesterday. I had a crazy busy night at work and was wiped out when I got home. Had a great day, well morning, at the park! The skies cleared up, it was sunny, and we didn't wait in a SINGLE line. 10 good rides in 1.5 hours. 2 on Medusa to start, then Boomerang back row [that track looks great btw], then a back row ride on Roar, 2 on V2, and 3 more on Medusa. Ok, on to the pics! 1-2 train wait at medusa an hour after opening is a beautiful thing. Ready for more construction pics? a few shots from Roar's station supports stacked in place and ready overview shot supports stacked in place Old station and que still clearly untouched Looks like vertical construction is very near please excuse the finger Again, they're on the verge of going vertical
