How does any of this make sense to you? I've purchased Gold and Platinum level FastPass and it has significantly reduced my wait time. SIGNIFICANTLY. Was it worth the money? You bet. My time waiting, baking in the sun is totally worth it. Hell, Disneyland Fastpass allows you to be virtually queued for said ride while you occupy yourself with other things to do, including waiting for another ride (same as SF). It just saved you waiting 70+ minutes for Space Mtn while you waited 40min for Thunder Mtn. By the time you're off Thunder, youre ready to BYPASS a majority of the Space Mtn line. How does that NOT save you time? Without it, you would be waiting that 70+ min after you get off Thunder Mtn. How is that not valued.... One word, entitlement...

For some reason we get a TON of spiders/spiderwebs at our park. I have literally brushed off full cobwebs on photo eyes on our daily inspections multiple days in a row. That said, maintenance only focuses on cleaning what is required for the ride to function, the rest is up to operations, and they honestly don't have the best operators at Orbit... Dude, that really sucks to hear man... I don't think we do have any "larger size" seats like i have seen on other b&m's for whatever reason... truly sorry. You really, REALLY didn't miss much of anything on vortex... layout is shorter than top gun, your friend WOULD have likely had a concussion from the headbanging... aside from the experience on flight deck [ours is also called that now btw], it sounds like you had a really decent time.

That word used to have a meaning. Now it's just used by angry people who are angry at happy people for not being angry. Omg riiiiight!??! So true. While I understand people's frustration with the racing issue, PLEAS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE IT A REST! Can't we just wait till its first full weekend of regular operation to spend pages bashing? I have such a love/hate relationship with this thread... Ugh...

I'll be there HAHA... Boomerang Bay has been open privately the past 2 Saturdays to (i think it was) Lockheed for their events. I heard management debating on doing this for the extra Saturday in-between the regular opening, should be good for the park. I actually don't know much about the height restrictions yet, I'll have to see what I can find out. WaterWorld is taking precautions during the drought. I wonder what CGA is doing http://wn.ktvu.com/story/29019658/waterworld-california-makes-changes-to-park-during-drought I know that they use all recycled water with a big filtration system. There's the lake that Flight Deck flies over, as well as a reservoir attached to Rip Roaring Rapids.

I'm sorry, but that is such bull$#it... How come SFNE can take and post to the media a video of Wicked Cyclone's first test run [and it was pretty apparent by the applause after it was the FIRST], but there's some sort of super top secret PR blockade that makes SFMM or Twisted Colussus different? Seriously SFMM?..... I'm sorry but why do you think it is YOUR RIGHT to be able to see video of their first test run? If the park didn't want it released for whatever reason, they didn't release it. I'm just so sick of this awful "entitlement" attitude so many coaster enthusiasts carry. Parks aren't going to make decisions to cater to YOUR personal preferences no matter how entitled you think you are. Deal with it and stop complaining like a two year old baby. Personally, I'm at least happy they released the first drop footage and we have someone out at the park right now on a construction tour so maybe we'll get more footage. I apologize, and your right Robb. I did not mean to sound entitled at all. I was just all caught up in excitement and hype and impatience. Couple that with the feeling that we in California often SEEM get the short end of the stick when it comes to this hobby, and I may have not been clear-headed when I wrote that. I will anxiously, excitedly await testing footage if and when it comes. Wouldn't it be awesome if someone from the park or RMC got on Goliath's lift to shoot it?

A megalite would look very nice there. I think they should just replace the stand-up trains and put in regular B&M sit down trains. A megalite would be nice in Grizzly's Spot. First, give up on grizzly being replaced anytime in the near future. Second, you really can't trust a ride op for this kind of information The park has not been very busy at all lately to warrant a real need for a 2nd train on vortex. The other train is in the coaster shop for rehab. I can't completely deny the possibility of what that op said being true, but I work in maintenexe and haven't heard anything about any issues with it. I also know there haven't been any rumors at all about getting floorless trains for it (yet). In my opinion, it's so short I don't think it's worth it.

Speaking of woodies at CGA, guess who has two thumbs and got to ride the first two people occupied trains on gold stricker in 2015? THIS GUY! We're running it for a private event tonight, along with flight deck, vortex, and rue le dodge. Oh yeah, It's nice and smooth and fast to start out the season guys!

Hey guys, just wanted to share something totally FREAKIN awesome in my little world. Today was my first day as the newest ride electrician at CGA! I got to ride the transfer track on vortex and help cycle a train for testing, and helped with the annual electrical rehab on psycho mouse. So anyone else on here that works at the park PM me so we can be buddies!! Yeah, it's still sinking in that I get paid to work on roller coasters...

Hey folks, I applied for a "ride electrician" job at California's Great America and according to their job listing I am fully qualified for what they are looking for. I have called to follow through witht he application multiple times only to be told there is no person or voicemail I can talk to untill HR gets back at the beginning of January. I was hopging to find out if anyone here has done that job, what did you do before that, or how were you qualified for it? For me, I have gone to vocational school, done some commercial electrical work here and there, and am on the verge of obtaining my residential Journeymans License. I need some industrial/commercial experience in order to qualify for a General Journeyman's License. I was also wondering if anyone knows what kind of salary expectations I would have from Cedar Fair? Speaking of which, how is Cedar Fair as a company to work for anyway?
