Loving the concept art! I know some people have their horror stories but Hershey has never disappointed me. Can not wait to get more information on the new coaster. -

WOW! I have never seen lines like that at this park, accept for the Chick Fil A in the park. Than again I only go to this park every two years or so. -

I think that we are looking for free and low-cost attractions. Personally, I want to visit something more off the beaten path than the National Mall and museums, although we will be going to those. Oh yeah, forget that flash pass, especially on Sunday. Fair warning. Bring a friend free day is that day. You've been warned. Dang, is it even worth going to the park then? Just get a flash pass. Its actually pretty cheap at this park. Also, a few times they have had it on "sale" and at times there are coupons if you have a gold season pass or higher. As far as things to do in DC. Its mostly the museums and trying new restaurants. I do not think there really is no "off the beaten path" in this city.

Saturday during the day is usually pretty dead. You can easily ride every ride, coaster and flat ride, by sun down. Once the sun starts setting you will see an influx of people, not just cars though. LOTS of people use the bus to get here from DC. Superman can easily get to around an hour wait at night. However, a night ride is worth it, especially in the front row. The lines for all of the haunts can easily get to 45 min to an hour each. They are not that good though, unless you are easily scared. They send groups through way too big.

Every haunted house I have went through at an amusement park was TERRIBLE (Six Flags America, Six Flags Great Adventure, Dorney, Kings Dominion, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas). Yes, the themeing was awesome but they were not scary at all. They send way too many people through at once. I have already had the argument that due to the sheer volume of the people they have to. No, they do not. There are lots of haunted attractions in the PA, MD, DE, VA area that send you through with your group - sending a group every few moments. There are many haunts that just stay open until everyone has went through or they close with a disclaimer that you may not make it through every attraction if you do not get there early enough. Some of these haunts get to 3 hours waits too.

I go almost every year for Fright Fest. During the day the lines are manageable. Once it starts to get dark hoards of people come to the park, but they die down after about 10 PM. I've also never been that early in the season for FF though. As far as hotels I always stay Red Carpet Inn and Suites in Wrightstown. Its a hole in the wall but surprisingly has really decent reviews. I usually pay between $45-55 a night. It is about 25 minutes from the park.

Knoebels Discussion Thread

I have been for Hallo-Fun. All of the coasters were open and select other rides. They also brought in a temp flat for in front of Phoenix for the kiddos. I went to the park this past Saturday, this was my first visit in about 5 years. I would love to start with how unbelievable this park is. I went to Six Flags Great Adventure the Wednesday before as well as Six Flags America the Thursday before and I had the best time at Knoebels out of all of them. My BF had never been to Knoebels before this visit and I explained to him this park is not like the Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks he has been to and that this park is more about the experience. Once he took one ride on Phoenix I could not keep him off. We were nervous with the crowds but we waited no longer than about 20 minutes - with the longest wait being about 20 min for Flying Turns. Both Twister and Phoenix operations were AMAZING - they were dispatching trains well before the previous train even reached the brake run. Twister was dispatching when the train was in the second helix and Phoenix was dispatching when the train came to the last air time hills. We both prefer the drop ride here to Zumanjaro at Great Adventure - we rode it every time we talked by it. The only ride that was down I really wanted to ride was the sky lift. -

Have you ever taken a look at SFSTL's antique car layout? If not, take a look and then you may want to reassess your 'Worst' comment. SFSTL's Moon Cars had a great layout back in the day (original attraction), then it got neutered/shortened when they built the picnic area ... then it got neutered/shortened again when American Thunder was built. It is ridiculously short with no themeing, none. It is a wonder why they continue to operate the attraction (ha if you can call it that). I've never been there. So, I can only compare them to ones I have ridden/seen in person. My favorite ones are definitely Knoebels and Kings Dominion.
