I haven't been on Steel Force in almost 10 years. The last time I rode it, it was my first hypercoaster so I didn't really have much to compare it to. I found it to have tons of airtime while being glass smooth. I plan on hitting up Dorney again sometime in the next year or two and I'm interested to see how it compares to the Intamin and B&M mega coasters I've been on. It definitely doesn't compare. The drop is like coasting down a hill on a bicycle. There's absolutely no " force" on Steel Force. But it does still run pretty smoothly for being almost 20 years old. Next time you get to Dorney, definitely prioritize Talon, Possessed, and Hydra over Steel Force. Hydra over Steel Force, seriously? You are very sadly misguided. Hydra over Steel Force any day of the 7 my friend. I could fall asleep on Steel Force. Hydra's first drop is great for a floor less an I found it more enthralling then any part of Steel Force.

Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread

SFA will get a dark ride when hell freezes over. I agree with the park needing a new water ride (not in the water park) especially since they removed a pretty decent one for Apocalypse. I also concur a few flats wouldn't hurt either. -

Six Flags America (SFA) Discussion Thread
Jcoaster replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SFA is always getting a bad rap for what I see, no reason. My experience there was very pleasant, getting multiple rides on everything besides Mind Eraser which was closed all day (Didn't lose any sleep over that). My question is, and I know SFA isn't atop of Six Flag's treatment list, when will they get a new original coaster? -
One thing is for sure, we can all agree that something needs to be done with Gwazi in the upcoming years. The decision that makes sense is that the park management will do whatever is the most cost efficient. If they do nothing and let it sit with one side operating while adding a new coaster it isn't the end of the world, things could be worse.

Living 15 minutes from Coney Island/Luna park and visiting the park frequently, I can say that what Zamperla has done with the place is great. They have really breathed some life into a place that was dilapidated and run down. The Steeplechase is a fun, intense ride for it size, although a bit short. The Volare flyer I prefer to Superman Ultimate Flight, I kid you not. It is just more fun to me. The Cyclone is still the masterpiece it has always been and the re-tracking by GCI has only made it better, it almost feels new. A little less then two weeks ago I rode the Thunderbolt for the first time. I saw the construction of the ride in previous months and waited anxiously for it to open. The layout looked great and I couldn't wait. The three row trains looked less awkward then I expected and the seats where quite comfortable. The restraints took me off guard as I never experienced anything like them before. Although they were quite comfortable and gave you plenty of freedom to move, the restraints felt quite cheap, being that they were plastic. The vertical lift hill was awesome having enjoyed them on Fahrenheit and HollyWood Rip Rocket Ride. The first drop was fun, although I expected a bit more airtime. The vertical loop was forceful which I loved, then the train made its way through the zero-g which is where it shuffled a bit an was a little painful. The Stengel Dive and Funky turnaround were awesome with a lot of forces. Now, the best part of the ride came after the turnaround. The first airtime coming out of the turnaround....Holy Sh**! All three airtime hills were great as well as the corkscrew. Yes the ride isn't a game changer by any means, and it is a bit rough, but a good rough. It lets you know you're on a ride. I think what Zamperla did for Luna Park with this addition was great and I'm excited to see what the future holds for Luna Park. Overall I would say the Thunderbolt is a solid 7.5/10

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

I said it once, and i'm gonna stick to my guns. Premier launch coaster. That one "big thing" could be a launch or giant loop or tophat along the likes of Full Throttle. -

From what I recall, Dive Machines are very expensive. They require a wider track which hikes up the prices immensely. Also due to the wider track it needs more reinforced supports as well. -
Almighty title fairy....Can I please have a title pertaining to Manatees an a Intamin Aquatrax?

Steel Forceless is just always disappoints me, I found it very bland during the first half of the ride with minimal airtime. The only airtime I had was on the back end after the MCBR. The helix I didn't find that powerful, although it was fun due purely to the speed the train hits the helix at. Of the hyper coasters I've been on (Nitro, Apollo's Chariot, Superman:Ride of Steel and Steel Force) I found Steel Force the weakest, I honestly prefer any other coaster in the park to it.

^^^ Busch Garden's Williamsburg is easily one of the most pleasurable parks I have ever been too and sits atop my favorite parks list along with Hershey Park and IOA. They have 3 world class B&M's with Alpie, Apollo's Chariot and Griffon. A classic Arrow looper with Nessie and Verbolten which I haven't ridden, but have heard only good things.

How about a Premier launch coaster? Has anyone considered that? I've only heard great things about SkyRocket and Full Throttle. -
Nitro is so in need of a paint job that I have heard people say that it is junk yard themed. How sad/pathetic is that? You have one of the best roller coasters on the eastern seaboard and you neglect it to the point where it looks like and eyesore. As a season pass holder the past 5 years, it is disheartening to see the ride just rust away.

Now your'e speaking my language. I think B&M would be selling themselves short if they didn't try their hand at their version of a blitz coaster. Although it maybe too expensive for Holiday World as some others were saying, just imagine how great it could be using the woods and terrain in the area.
