Bizzaro is definitely a solid ride. I wouldn't call it smooth, it has gotten considerably more rough and rattly over the years. But I enjoy it nonetheless as it has decent forces with a nice backdrop when going up the lift hill. The theme is piss, nothing was better than the old Medusa color scheme.

Since you mention that, as they're retheming SFNE's Bizarro back to Superman, do you think it's likely that they'll follow suit at GAdv and take it back to Medusa this season? No. Bizarro is fine the way it is. No way the park would pay to paint and retheme it back to Medusa since no one but a handful of enthusiasts would care. Though I do agree they could use something else back there to revive that area. But where? With that arena, RMT, SFOA's station, the flume, etc They couldn't really put anything back there without removing trees, no? And that would be lame. I just hope they don't get rid of Bizarro at some point, I could see them eventually relocating it because it rarely has a line, but that works for me since its IMO one of the more solid coasters in the park. If Bizzaro gets relocated it won't be in somewhere in Great Adventure. It would probably go to a whole new park in general. Then they could just put floorless trains on Green Lantern.

There's more to it than that though, especially with GADV. This is what the park has done in the past 8 years: Removed: Removed Chiller Removed GASM Removed Rolling Thunder Closed off entire section of the park past chiller, which put other flats out of commission while they also removed the Intamin 1st Gen Freefall Some rides that were removed (Chaos) were changed to smoking sections rather than replaced with new rides Removed the giant Teepee Added: The Dark Knight - indoor wild mouse The Green Lantern - relocated standup coaster Bizzaro - Medusa is repainted and some of the theming is literally turned upside down, sometimes they turn the fire on too Zumanjaro - Drop tower added to the side of already-built Kingda Ka Safari RIde - The park changed the already existing safari into one that leaves through controlled vehicle from the park and billed it as a new ride. There was an outpost stop added with an upcharged zipline. They didn't add the monkeys back. Larson loop bulled as a coaster S&S 4D coaster that isn't as good as the Intamin version (yes I've ridden both). The capacity and waits for the SFFT version were consistently horrible. That's off the top of my head, sure I've missed something but hopefully not that major. I personally have not bought a SF season pass because I haven't had a reason to go back to GADV (I live in NYC) in the past 3 years and I only go to 1 or 2 other SF parks each summer. My GP friends don't ever feel compelled to go back, usually the saying is "maybe if they add a new big ride, it'll be worth the lines and admission price". When have you last felt compelled to go back to GADV Rob? Do you want to NJ for this ride? Yes there's obviously a lot of investment that was put into the park prior to these past 8 years but really nothing great has been done since Obama's been in office (must be his fault ). I personally get my fair share of credits from travelling for work and then staying a few extra days to go to parks like SFFT, Alton Towers and Thorpe, BGT, etc. And I do one day want to go back and relive Nitro and El Toro and Ka. But to see what's been added to the park recently, or lack thereof, has just been disappointing considering what parks like SFMM and SFGA receive, and everybody here would agree that GADV was once grouped with those parks in terms of SF money allotment. That they have to tear down an entire waterfront theater space for a ride that has a smaller footprint than a Togo heartline twister also confuses me. Here's to hoping for those dueling launched wingriders that reuse Chiller's station, theme to Batman vs. Superman, and dominate that aforementioned closed off area of the park in two years I guess... This is EXACTLY the kind of "self-entitled, obnoxious, stupid coaster enthusiast" enthusiast drivel I'm talking about! Listen to yourself!!! The park has actually IMPROVED quite a bit and you're making rides like Zumanjaro sound like nothing because it's on the "already built Kingda Ka." Really?!??! And you're complaining about monkeys?!?!?! Seriously, you're an idiot. Please get off our forums. He forgot to mention how they removed trees and how we need those back. THEY TOOK DOWN TREES?! Oh and the Tepee...We won't survive without the giant rotting ugly tepee from 1970 something.

...and this gives a GCI coaster the awesome airtime it never had! Now they just need to do this with more GCI woodies! Gwazi...can you be next? Please let it be so! The first thing I said when I saw the layout is "Oh wow, look, they kept some of the signature GCI curves!" And then I looked at the rest and said: "Oh, thank god, they added air time and some awesome RMC stuff!"

To everyone complaining about "what they deserve". Nobody deserves anything. This is the amusement industry, you don't get rides cause you deserve them. You get rides cause thats what the park can afford and or wants at the time. Planning for the next 5 years of this park is most likely done. You all won't be complianing when Great Adventure adds another new coaster within the next two years.

Let's be honest, at a park like Great Adventure, does "theming" really come into play? Enough to really make someone "disappointed?" Really??? I mean, what is El Toro themed to? What is Kingda Ka themed to? What is Zumanjaro themed to? What is Nitro themed to? And most importantly... WHO CARES?!?!? Even the Batman, Green Lantern, Bizarro, etc, rides, you're looking at minimal theming that is mostly cut-outs and a few statues. Does the theming really affect those rides...AT ALL!!?!?! After I posted it, I thought about that point peep the edit Edit: Nitro is in fact themed to a junkyard, you can't tell from the queue line?
-
My thoughts exactly. Easy with the world class talk people. Anyway, this will take lines away from El Toro which is always a beautiful thing. The theming is disappointing from what the video shows, but its Six Flags remember? New coaster will be fine, just thought Gadv would go for the 10 inversion one.

What was your favorite new ride of 2015?

Hey brother, Kong was freakin awesome. -
This is brutal. I was expecting a 4-D but at least give us the larger version. I'm feeling slighted to be honest. Not even a good theme, they just decided to plop it on the lakefront with a generic theme. Any sort of theming would have been better than this. Oh well, I think this will play into my thinking that we will see another coaster added in 2016 or 2017.

Custom Coasters International in retrospect

I'd like to see what they could do if they got their hands on it since all I've ever about the Boss is how much wasted potential is in its layout. -

After riding Wicked Cyclone, Tempesto and Impulse this year I would have to say that Wicked Cyclone beats the other two by a large margin. Not that the other two rides are bad by any means. Both Tempesto and Impulse are terrific in their own right.
