  1. I wish I could go Wednesday but I can't take another day off without a legit excuse (I'm running out of ailments). Friday I will be there bright and early with a huge grin on my face.
  2. Everyone bashed Tempesto last year with how it wouldn't fit in the park with theming etc and after going there and seeing it in person it looked fine and actually fits in quite well. The daredevil theme worked fine since the ride looks kinda like a half pipe itself. The theming for this GCI is a bit off but I could see this being the beginning of a change from the area being New France to Scandinavia (especially if the name ends up being about the Vikings invading). As for the height restrictions this coaster is still a year off and a lot can change during that time.
  3. Great trip report CFC. The new Marco Polo Marketplace looks pretty legit. Very nice, can't wait to see it.
  4. Well one crucial mistake with the theming is that the Vikings were in the New World about 600 years before the French were. So a Viking and French Trapper would never run into each other.
  5. That's what she said! Personally I think this is a solid addition in terms it's something they needed. Could they have placed it elsewhere and gone bigger? Sure, but this is the first woodie in the chain since the disaster Gwazi became so maybe they're being cautious. Some of my favorite woodies are shorter in height and length. Big Dipper at GL and Blue Streak to name two, both under 3,000ft. I'll wait until we see a full layout and how it interacts with Le Scoot and the terrain before judging too much. Of course a full opinion can not be formed until I ride. I still personally, all things aside would have preferred an RMC even with the same stats just because I love topper track so much! I honestly thought they would go with the mini layout RMC released recently.
  6. I can't wait to ride this thing new headrests and all
  7. I'm more conerned about the three subpar names. Did they fire the person who used to name their rides or something?
  8. Just saw some pictures of the craft beer room. Looks amazing!
  9. Sorry I mispoke its between 46 inch (White Lightening) and 48 inches. Still allows for kids to ride.
  10. I have to assume this was part of the deciding factor to go with GCI. In TPR's overview for BGW in the park index, you mention the park lacks a big "family" coaster. Do you think this could potentially fit the bill? Yes seeing that most GCI's have the 42 inch height requirement. I'm hoping for something along the lines of Prowler.
  11. Isn't it ironic how one Busch park closes a GCI woodie and people think that improves the park's overall coaster collection while another Busch park announces one and people think it's the best thing ever. Still not sure what to make of this announcement. Just going to sit back and "wait and see..." I agree with the "wait and see" approach. I think the area the coaster is being built in could provide some great headchopper and near miss elements that can make the ride very fun. On the otherhand lets hope that they can maintain this coaster and not let it become a painful, rough ride. I know the climate in Tampa makes it a bit more difficult to maintain wooden coasters (Gwazi) but Virginia can be notoriously muggy (though not as much as Florida) as well. This should be an interesting project to follow. I think it fits the hamlet perfectly and could add some beautiful photo ops for the park.
  12. It will be pretty awesome to see how that view from the bridge with Alpingeist and Le Scoot will now look with the new GCI too.
  13. Any idea when the official layout will be posted?
  14. ^ Mmm..Yes, this ride is going to aesthetically pleasing.
  15. Wow, was not expecting a Viking theme, very interesting.
  16. The new Hulk looks gorgeous, I can't wait to see how it rides.
  17. ^ Yes. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a family coaster with an inversion, sort of like Cheetah Hunt.
  18. Yup thats the new generation. Bitch and moan until there is literally nothing fun left.
  19. I'm expecting the interactions with Le Scoot to be pretty epic and if it is anything like White Lightening or Prowler we can be looking at something truly spectacular here. I also think if they go with mine themed cars the shorter train like on White Lightening would work perfectly.
  20. Yes thats what is being thrown around along with the name SilverStriker and StrikeWinder.
  21. I heard they are using parts of Drachen Fire and Big Bad Wolf as well. Looks like they are creating some sort of....FrankenCoaster. In all seriousness, I've seen a few leaks that this will indeed be a wooden coaster. I'm thinking Gravity Group with those trains I posted a few pages back.
