  1. Last night I decided to try a beer I kept passing on before, but it's fairly close to the Top 100 list, just falling short now, Hair of the Dog's Fred, a barleywine. Very impressive at 10% and very complex in taste, figs, pineapple, citrus, pine, cherry, raisins, caramel, maple syrup, and spices make it extremely satisfying for a barleywine All the way from Portland, Oregon comes Fred, Hair of the Dog's barleywine
  2. After leaving Heath's on Saturday morning, it was off to Norristown to pick up some very important beers, but I figured I'd take someone along for the ride. I really enjoy this one. Though it's very tart and sour, it has a really nice lemon taste with just the right amount of peaches thrown in to the mix and when I got home later that evening, enjoying some Dogfish Head Festina Peche Sunday it was back down to the bar for more Phoenix and to end the night, figured I'd get the credit while it's free, Miller Chill, a limey lager. Actually it wasn't half bad, better than the Mexican beers that you need to add lime to, or the others like Tequiza. Good flavor, low in abv, and nice for summer sessioning More Phoenix for me! Tom and Jake were pretty impressed with it. Used to nothing but Miller Lite, a sip literally blew Nick's shirt off! Though I would partake in some Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout I just stuck with Phoenix for the rest of the night though, for the most part Tom kept trying stuff I brought for him, like the Bell's Java Stout, which he liked better than the Founders! Phoenix!!! So what was our keg purchase? Why Sly Fox's Phoenix Pale Ale of course, gotta support local! Why yes it could be, and it is! Sadly, there ain't no chance of getting sixtels of this yet around here. One of the top 5 beers in the world, and darn good stuff! Nope, not Heresy, they were out of it. But could this possibly be Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout?? It's really dark, bourbon aged, and Tom digs it. Possibly Heresy? With the Sunshine Pils gone, we quickly ran down to Tanzo's to pick up another sixtel of beer, but what did we get? Followed that up with some Hoegaarden White Ale, also on tap. Tom's got great stuff on tap always! Back at Tom's house, I managed to get the last of the Troeg's Sunshine Pils before it kicked. Score! On the way back to Allentown, we stopped off at Shangy's, but decided we spent enough money on beer for one day. Plus there you have to buy everything in cases, stupid PA! Tom may look drunk, but he's really just enjoying the Atwater Vanilla Java Porter on tap, all the way from Detroit while still daydreaming about the 6pack shop in the back and their wonderful assortment. Lots of vanilla character in the porter, he even grabbed a bottle to take home. I went with East End's Kvass Ale, a beer brewed with the help of Tom Baker of Heavyweight fame. This beer was kinda sour and very bready. I'll save the pickups as a mystery, but while down here, we couldn't pass up some awesome burgers and brews on tap But this time I brought a Capone's virgin with me, Tom, still alive and kickin! Back to Capone's to hit up the 6pack shop for some really awesome stuff.
  3. Started off tonight with a new brew for me, the Flying Dog Woody Creek White before moving on to some typical brews. I couldn't wear a hop head shirt and not drink something loaded with hops. DFH's 60 hits the spot and finally, Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA Yup, good stuff and easy to drink, great flavors for a lager Because Wally actually graced us with his presence again, this Dortmunder is for you! Pretty good stuff, very spicy and not very hotdog watery. Still think Dog Daze of Summer was a better name though Newly released from Flying Dog, the Woody Creek White, a Belgian Wit style
  4. I think every park has some urban legend about poisonous snakes in one of the old darkrides, so this rumor doesn't shock me in the least. However, I highly doubt a ride like that would go uninspected and maintained, especially with test runs and all the work done on a daily basis that no one would notice a whole bunch of water snakes in the ride. Believe this all you want, it sounds cool, but the reality most likely is the simple fact that they removed it solely for Daredevil Falls.
  5. So sorry for your loss, Shari. Your mom really seemed to look happy at the parks, even in her older years. She can take pride in knowing she raised such a good daughter who loves parks as much as she did. I know I'm the way I am because of my mom and grandmother taking me to the local parks every year since I was very little. Heck, my first coaster was with my grandmother when I was like 3! It's nice to remember all the good things your parents did, this was a nice tribute you've done for her. I'm sure she'd appreciate it.
  6. ^Ha! Yeah right, there were slim pickings by the time we got to them. I only bought one because they had a Medium and it was on sale. Nicole only bought one because they still had youth sizes. Shame you didn't go with us, I guess those 3 XL looking guys bought the only 3 XL shirts they had left.
  7. I'd love to get to the Alchemist, and the beerfest looks nice, but I bet it wouldn't be so great if the weather wasn't cooperative. Anyway, July is almost over, it's July 25, Christmas is but 5 months away, and yet no reports of Christmas in July yet, what's up with that?! So, tonight, my contribution to Christmas in July, a beer I picked up fresh from the source on Kidtums' birthday-eve, Pizza Port's Santa's Little Helper Imperial Stout! Been saving it for a night just like this. Another excellent Imperial Stout to end tonight, and sadly it looks like another Christmas in July goes to waste, darn this weather! Not to sway from the style tonight, Storm King Imperial Stout would follow Yup, a very tastey Imperial Stout, extremely flavorful. And it hides its alcoholic 9.5% very well. Good thing this bomber is all mine! Time for round 2 very bitter with the dark chocolate and coffee flavors at the beginning, but it's also got some sweetness from cherries and molasses in there as well Santa's Little Helper, Pizza Port/Port Brewing's answer to the Imperial Stout
  8. With Nicole busy with her friend, I decided to make today IPA Tuesday. Nothing but the finest IPAs from across the land all mixing and mingling in my stomach and liver. What could be better?! and he still rocked the house, a perfect ending to IPA Tuesday Stone's Ruination was a little late for the party, but we'll blame that on the fact he had to come from California Another outstanding IPA, very sessionable at 6% 90's brother, 60 Minute IPA wasn't but 30 minutes behind Not as sweet as other doubles, this one still retains a good portion of the pine and citrus hoppiness I like considering its 9% abv First to the party, Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA, a double IPA
  9. Part 2: La Ronde La Ronde was a park we were both dreading after seeing earlier reports on TPR that it was the worst park in the Six Flags chain. But we needed to get here eventually, and those 10 credits were calling my name. The biggest pain was crossing the border, and that's not the US's fault, I blame French Canadia. 1 hour to cross from the 1/4 mile from border mark (yet only 5 min to return to the States.) I don't know if they enjoy grilling people, or they're really scared that people want to blow up their country, or those crossing in front of us were just deedeedees, but it was ridiculous. We arrived on Friday around 8 to find the park abandoned, much as I expected, due to the rain hitting Montreal the entire day. Surprisingly, despite the fact that the park was closed because of the cold weather and rain on Friday, and very hot and crowded on Saturday, we had a pretty good time. It certainly wasn't the worst Six Flags experience of the year; that title still remains with SFNE. We had no problems using my SF parking pass to get into the park, no problems at the turnstyles with my SF pass and Nicole's Darien Lake pass, and everything that could was running multiple trains. We didn't see any garbage laying around. Garbage cans did stink, but it was hot outside, that could explain it. Only 1 smoker in linewas encountered, and he was downwind from us, and were only linejumped once, and those people were yelled at for it by the ops. The language barrier wasn't a problem either, as almost everyone we had to talk to spoke both English and French. Best of all, despite being there for longer than expected (partially because we missed out on Friday) going on a crowded Saturday paid off for us because we managed to get every credit there, as all the coasters were running, including BOTH sides of Le Monstre! Now next time we go back, we can focus on the good coasters and some of the weird flatrides. We certainly didn't think it wasn't the worst SF park in the chain, maybe the worst in Canada, but it's also the best in Canada...because it's the ONLY one in Canada Onto the pics: All I can say is Le Cha-ching, this park has been destroyed! But we shall return sometime for more quality rides on Goliath, Le Vampire, and to obliterate all the flats. Giant fountain of doom! Don't know what this was, looked like some sort of statue with a bidet, as water was shooting up the middle but nowhere else! and yes, Elissa, the kiddie land has a spinny raft ride, just for you and KidTums. Actually, the Kiddie area looked really cool and nicely themed Yay for RCT monorails! The Condor, or the La Rondor? My biggest regret, not having time to ride the tower to get some more shots of the park and especially Goliath. Hopefully next time Good thing it was running 2 trains by the time we got back to it, it was running 1 earlier, as we passed it to ride Le Cobra and Le Vampire. If only these things ended after the corkscrews instead of going around for more hills and helices afterwards much like the Arrows. Ouch! Final credit of the trip, Super Manege, a wonderful Vekoma corkscrew that is older than my girlfriend. Oh joy! Such a cool location, with the bridge into the city and downtown right behind the coasters, I thought you might like it. Chick n Chick n Chick Wow, the line for the automated tampon machine sure is long! One of many of La Ronde's cool flats we didn't have time to ride They did have smartcars and Wiis though Wow, old school Nintendo! I was sad that it was only a dolphin show. I was hoping for like Super Mario: The Musical or The Legend of Zelda: A Link to Quebec mmmmm, under the loop Everyone loves a Batman, except when Joel Schumacher adds nipples to the suit The line sucked, but the ride was really intense, even though the train is missing a row compared to the other Batmen Finally on our Le Tour, Le Vampire, a mirror image Batman-clone, and my first version of the mirror! On Le Cobra, you aren't allowed any 35mm cameras or 1980s camcorders At least it didn't try to do too many inversions, it was content with one, followed by lots of turns. Though I was really freaked out when we got to the bunny hill. Bunny hills on standups is just plain evil for guys Nicole wasn't too fond of this ride and said "I wouldn't be sad if Darien Lake never built theirs!" but I didn't mind it too much Next up, Le Cobra, an Intamin standup, much like Batman: The Escape that now sits in Darien Lake. Third rule of whoring, ride the better capacity last. And this crew was awesome, NEVER stacking trains when we were there. It wasn't a le amazing ride by any means, but it wasn't le horrible either, it just seemed to le wander around. How interesting is it that 1 side opened a year before le other!? and even more le wow, at times it even almost le raced But holy le crap! It's running both le sides! and its very Le Morgan wood coaster cars for extra Le Joy and Le Comfort Le Monstre with its very pretty layout that does next to nothing Le Sharktums, with its very pointy teeth and its very Le Ouch boomerang element Le Boomerang, with its very le bulby entrance And now for the "le ride" portion of our trip. First up, Le Splash With my quick thinking, I claimed the little French Canadian kids behind us were part of our party, and we were granted entry and a ride. Cha-ching! Turns out it was more fun than a lot of today's kiddie coasters, and still chock full of Arrow coat hanger transitions It's only a kiddie coaster, and though all signs point to adults being allowed to ride, you're only allowed on if you have a kid in your party Ultra-rare credit here? La Marche du Mille-pattes is the oldest coaster in the park, going back to when it opened, and was built by Arrow. It's like 40 years old! Whatcha think about that, Jahan? Nothing out of the ordinary here, just a wild mouse themed to bobsledding, though there was very little braking, big plus Second rule of whoring, after riding the newest, ride the lowest capacity. That said, Toboggan Nordique, the Zamperla wild mouse was next on the agenda. We heard this was really lame, but I've heard that about Skull Mountain too. Truth is, don't expect a Disney ride and it turns out to be lots of fun. Plus you get eaten by a dragon and they play hard rock music inside, nothing wrong with that! Next up, more Intamin goodness, the indoor coaster, Dragon, located not too far away from Goliath And somewhat themed to the medieval area of the park it's located in. Check out the cute transfer shed B&Ms most unoriginal layout, just lots of ups and downs with a turnaround. But definitely fun, and with plenty of airtime pops. In my book it's an A ranked coaster First rule of credit whore instinct, hit the newest ride first as it's the most popular. Off to Goliath we go, way in the back of the park. Again....CROWDED. Only 6 turnstyles to get into the park, but we'll manage. It can't be worse than the border crossing! Really nice entrance plaza to La Ronde, located on an island with lots of other recreational things, like a park, bio-sphere, museum, etc It's a Saturday, and the park doesn't open for another 30 minutes, and this is the line to get in. Yeah, it's gonna be crowded. Time to assume "credit whore" mode La Ronde is located on an island in the middle of the St. Lawrence River right next to Montreal and we definitely approved of it with a black and white photo of the park on the wall above the bed Our hotel was a really nice Holiday Inn just a few minutes from the park
  10. Originally I had a day off of work set up to go to Valleyfair, but with insane airline prices, I opted not to go. Instead my aunt was having a graduation party for my cousin on Sunday up in Albany, so I'd be in that area anyway for the weekend. Perfect time to use that vacation day, grab the girlfriend, and take her to finally ride her precious Comet that she grew up too short to ride for 8 years of her life, and get us both some much needed credits up in Montreal. Part 1: The Great Escape I haven't been to TGE since 1999 when Nightmare opened up there. A lot has changed since then, but there's definitely a whole lot more I hope to see altered if they're ever going to "Flag" the park. Pathways are narrow, the layout is odd and incomplete, and the manual release on some of the coasters has to go. The Great Escape was the brainchild of Charlie Wood, who also built the other park in Lake George, as well as Fantasy Island on Grand Island, Nicole's homepark, so lots of the older stuff was very similar for her. More and more stuff was expanded upon, and then Premier took over and carbon copied things. The park would be very easy to credit whore in under 2 hours, assuming things actually opened with the park. At 10am when the park opened on Friday for us, the only coaster that was running was Comet, located at the very back of the park, beyond the waterpark. By 11, Steamin' Demon at the front was opened, and Alpine Bobsled was completing its final tests. Boomerang opened around 11:30, but with difficulties and didn't actually run frequently until 12. Canyon Blaster, the only credit there I needed (can't ride the kiddie coaster unless you've got a child) never opened in the 4 hours we were there, nor were ride ops present. Despite this slow to open operations scheduling like the old Six Flags, we still managed to have a good time. Onto pics: and Nicole has some fun bouncing on the suspension bridge before we call it a day and head out for some food Finally, we'll check out a walk-thru that was here before Premier bought it, and Six Flags not only kept it, but spruced it up a bit! It used to be mostly a boardwalk-like nature walk, but they Bugs and Daffy themed it Nicole is very much a kid again, but that one flowery face is creeping me out! "Watch your speed!" Tweedledee and Tweedledum apparently miss their younger brother Tweedleduh, aka Ryan, and are pounding it until he returns The Cheshire Cat hiding in the tree is all like "yo, I'm a pussy...cat" as the train goes by and Nicole was all excited about the Alice in Wonderland walkthru Credits achieved, it's time to try to kill some time hoping for the mine train to open (which it never did). The carousel was very nice At least here the Vekoma Troll has a cart to drive around Neither of us is too thrilled about riding this. And this one was very ghetto, with the lamest lift cable motor ever Of course I need a vertical loop shot. Here's one of the boomerang...yay :\ Woohoo, waterfall! and you can still walk up thru the cave inside it to get to Western Town Ah yes, Vekoma Loop Screw goodness. Glad I showed Nicole how to ride with minimal damage (here you can see the new pedestrian bridge connecting the parking lots to the park) Steamin' Demon still manages to get a line, but that's probably because it has only one train and manual release and lock restraints The park is still very kid friendly, with several walk-thrus, storybook scenes, and rides for the youngins. Definitely a place the whole family can enjoy Missed credit #2, because boosting my count is not a good reason alone to have kids outside of wedlock They may all be the same, and they may all be not running when it rains, but these things still are lots of fun. Yay Intamin! The Canaba car, for Jerrki and Paul, our Canabian friends Walking back thru the park we heard the rumble of the bobsled. We didn't think Nicole would get this credit, but we're glad she did. It may not be Lake Erie, but the Comet still has some water around it While it may have had some reprofiling over the past couple of seasons, it still delivers one fantastic and fun ride on its double out-n-back run Nicole seems to be in heaven, finally able to ride the coaster she saw for so many years, but was unable to ride Venturing to the very back of the park we find the only real reason to want to continue to come back here for coaster rides after you've gotten every credit, The Comet (Capacity) Nightmare is SBNO for the season, good thing I got the credit on its opening day, and Nicole rode it when it was at Darien Lake Canyon Blaster, moved from Opryland, would not be operating while we were there. Missed credit, but at least it was only the crappy minetrain we missed They even managed to add a castle that towers over Disneyland's with horse-drawn carriage rides around it Lots of the front of the park is very "storybook" like and untouched from Charles Wood's time Ragin' Cajun...errr Steamin' Demon still welcomes guests to the park, and can be seen from the Interstate Newly added was the Great Escape Lodge, much like the Great Wolf Lodges, it's got an indoor waterpark. And you have to stay at least 2 nights and pay way too much money. Back at The Great Escape in Lake George, NY. I haven't been here since Premier called it "the Thrill Park"
  11. A Valentine's section could fit nicely. Tunnel of love, some Cupid themed coaster, a rose garden, and chocolate/candy shop would fit nicely. Of course, I still think they need to add stuff to the Christmas section of the park, going to Santa's Village in New Hampshire really shows you just what could be done with theming rides to that holiday.
  12. I got a girlfriend who loves roller coasters, and she's not imaginary either! In fact, she knows more about some coasters she hasn't ridden than I do about ones that I have ridden. Of course, if she came up to me tomorrow and told me she was sick of going to parks and didn't want to go anymore, I'd be fine with that. There are plenty of other things to do in this world other than ride roller coasters and go to amusement parks all the time. As long as she doesn't prevent me from going, I have no problem with it.
  13. Here's the list, not updated since 2006 though. Top 50 Places to Have a Beer in America Tonight just chilling at home with some local good stuff. Very tart and different tasting, but with a lower ABV it's definitely quite drinkable, great after mowing A new summer favorite, Dogfish Head's Festina Peche This will definitely be on tap when I establish the bar downstairs First up, my local staple, HopDevil
  14. I rode Black Mamba on 2 separate days last September, and both days the ride felt exactly the same. It's really cool with the trenches, tunnels, and theming, but the ride itself isn't nearly as phenominal as Nemesis, Batman, Dueling Dragons, etc. It just doesn't have the forces, if it wasn't for it's location and interaction, it would be very similar to Top Gun, Talon, and Great Bear. Still better than Silver Bullet, but not the end all of inverted coasters, just an extremely nicely themed invert that gets my respect for being that. It definitely doesn't have the foot tingling extremeness of the old school inverts.
  15. Same here, voted for Fear, but each side has it's own cool unique things, making them both pretty darn awesome.
  16. Saturday we were originally going to attempt to hit 3 brewpubs on the way back from La Ronde, but because of the rain closing the park on Friday, we stayed later than anticipated on Saturday to get on everything, therefore draining ourselves. We decided to just stop off at 1 place assuming we could cross the border easier than when we were going up to Canada. Luckily we succeeded and ended up just south of The Great Escape in Glens Falls, NY to check out Davidson Brother's brewing. Turns out it was a really awesome place with excellent beers, great food, and a nice atmosphere. We definitely want to go back there again. A nice way to end the weekend and getting home tonight, time for something tasty and local, Troegs Nonic glass is empty, that means it's time to go home, but Mahar's is definitely another place I'll return to. Definitely dug it there, much more than Moan and Dove and because I wanted something on Cask and it was Hop Back Brewing's Odyssey Best Bitter all the way from England, this would be my British Face as far as the beers went, Nicole downed a Lindeman's Framboise. This is her "yay! lambic" face Lots of beer stuff everywhere, and check out the books being used to "level" the bar and I give mad love to anywhere that puts HopDevil on the middle tap between Rogue's John's Private Locker Stock and Stone's Arrogant Bastard! You gotta respect a place that has 6 things on Cask I was told it was sort of a rude place, but it was actually really cool and almost sophisticated college-like. Everyone was passionate about the beer, and hooray for New York being nonsmoking, we could actually hang out here for a good while But wait! Bonus! The food and beer at Davidson Bros revitalized us enough that we decided to check out the #12 place to have a beer in America, Mahar's Public Bar in Albany after all In all, we really dug Davidson Brothers, the only sad thing was they didn't have pub fries on the appetizer menu for Nicole Heath, this merch is for you! We ate outside because it was a lovely evening, but inside was equally as nice, almost like a mini-Great Lakes Brewpub and Nicole got the Crab and Spinach salad with cranberry vineagarette. and for Elissa, just look at this Tomato Mozzarella salad, and all that Balsamic! Oh yeah, besides good beers, they've also got awesome food, like this Buffalo chicken soup, with wing sauce, blue cheese, chicken, and celery all inside. Excellent! As far as the Oatmeal Stout credit, Nicole said "Leave that one to me!" And she got a full pint of it. I call dibs! my sampler checklist and the Hop Scotch was just plain weird tasting, but in a good way! The Smoked Porter was really good stuff, nice burnt flavors The Wheat Ale wasn't bad, though it was British based and more bitter and hopped than the hefe style The brewer's choice was the Swimming Cow, a Rye Ale. Awesome! Once again, sampler for me It's another late dinner for us, but at least we're back in the States and at a brewpub, Davidson Brothers in Glens Falls, NY
  17. Friday would see us at The Great Escape, and since we were already up in Lake George, we decided to hit up the Adirondack Brewery and Pub for lunch before moving on up to Canada. Adirondack was a pretty cool little place, nice atmosphere though it was pretty empty when we were there. The beers were good, as was the food. Next time we'll stay for the make your own smores dessert! After that we stopped off at the Plattsburg location of Lake Placid Craft Brewery since it was raining pretty frequently up there, and Montreal looked to be worse. Stopping off for some merch at Lake Placid in Plattsburg The newest seasonal, Dirty Blonde Ale was a pretty good hoppy wheat. Even Nicole got in on the action by sampling everything I had. Here she is with the Snow Trout Stout. Her favorite was the Hunter Mt. Hefe, but she liked the Bear Naked Ale for its pint glass The Inman Pond Blonde was really light, but also very flavorful and one of my favorite beers there Since I was driving, and Heathless, all my beer tastings had to be done sampler style Lots of good stuff on tap Time for lunch, just 5 minutes down the road from The Great Escape, same road and everything, Adirondack Brewery and Pub
  18. I'm back from my Northern Excursion with Nicole. Along the way we did plenty of stuff, all BACT style, hitting some coasters and beer. The coasters will come later in the other forum, but for now here's the beer! Thursday: I had to drive up to Albany, so on the way I decided to stop off at another brewpub on the way for dinner. Since I was coming up from Jersey, my options there were limited to next to nothing, so I just held out until I got up to New York. Luckily for me, Keegan Ales in Kingston just opened their microbrewery into a brewpub as well. As I was about to make my pint glass purchase, the bartender told me it was buy the pint glass and get it filled for free night, so I lucked out and also got to try the White Ale. Very good, perfect for summer Next up would be the Mother's Milk Stout, also very good with nice chocolate and coffee flavors Check out those frosty taps! The bar area is pretty small, but there's also picnic tables, sofas, and chairs as well as a ledge all around the place. Very beatnik First up the Hurricane Kitty, an IPA that had a really great flavor. I gotta get me some bottles of that sometime A little after 8 I finally arrived for dinner at Keegan Ales in Kingston, NY, which had just recently opened their brewpub from just a microbrewery Time to spice it up by adding a dog eating roast beef to the equation! The beer's still lame, but free, and I at least got to spend some time with the dog Getting to my aunt's house I had some time to kill before Nicole arrived. The only thing that didn't have caffeine in it was Budweiser, so I had to drink that. It tasted like Sierra Mist after the good beers I had earlier, and just dull
  19. Super Manege at La Ronde The only good thing about it was the lesbians we saw making out on a hill while in the brakerun
  20. Before I head out of state for the rest of the week, I decided to make tonight Dogfish Head night, starting with their newly bottled and released Festina Peche, a Berliner Weisse inspired style. Lots of pine flavors in this one, with great citrus notes as well. Gotta follow it up with some 60 Minute IPA, one of the best out there Really tart with nice peach and lemon flavors. A great, though odd, summertime brew Dogfish Head's Festina Peche, a summer release wheat made with warm-fermenting yeast and lactobacillus cultures and some peach concentrate
  21. If he really wanted to prove something, he'd ride Blackpool's SLC for 221 hours
  22. Over the weekend I managed to pick up another single bottle of something from Matt's precious Lakefront Brewing. Could this newest beer of theirs actually redeem all the crap they've brewed so far? So much better than anything Lakefront could concoct. Loaded with citrusy hops, this one just screams grapefruit, and it has wonderful flavor all throughout. Nothing boring about this, one of Bell's "simpler" ales. I will not be sharing good beers with Matt, as he supports boring breweries. No Bell's Two Hearted IPA for Matt, EVER! Better drink it myself Of course, this is Lamefront we're talking about. Overall just spices, a little bit of a cherry taste, lite maltiness, and a nice clean, crisp finish with no flavor. Once again, no dice for Lakefront or Matt Up to bat this time for Lakefront, Cherry Lager, made with Wisconsin cherries, so you'd think it should taste something similar to the acclaimed New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red
  23. Time to try some new stuff tonight, fresh from Baltimore comes Clipper City's newly released Hang Ten Weizen Dopplebock, an unfiltered double wheat bock in their Heavy Seas Series of beers. More sessionable, but not as flavorful as the Dopplebock. Follow up with something lighter from another part of Maryland, Flying Dog's Classic Pale Ale Good banana and clove flavors as well as raisons and yeast. Very alcohol taste at the beginning though, being 10%abv and all Clipper City's Hang Ten, very dark and cloudy from the unfiltered yeastiness
  24. Woohoo! I'm a doctor (though not of cardiology or anything health related like that) and I can input some warning. Don't ride danglefeet coasters if you get tingly sensations. I used to have an evil twin (or was he the good twin?), Kerr Ed Ruth and he died suddenly of 2 fatal blood clots in his femoral arteries. We still suspect it was from the 36 rides in a row he had on Montu. Oh how I miss beating on that scrawny little twerp. In all seriousness, that sensation you feel is all the blood rushing to your feet due to your position below the track. With all the positive G forces, the blood goes to the extremities quicker, and the tingling sensation is your body re-establishing blood equilibrium. Please PM me your address so I can send you my consultation bill.
  25. Back home tonight with the usual stuff, but usual ain't so bad here. yeah, I can't even fake a smile on this one. Definitely not like the tripel I had yesterday at Brewer's Art. Luckily, this is the last one I have to drink from Southern Tier and while I'm clearing out the refrigerator, let's get rid of some more Southern Tier stuff, like the Tripel mmmm, true yumminess. Excellent citrus and pine flavors Time for some fresher stuff, Ruination IPA, thanks to Stone Not bad, as good as Magic Hat has been as of late, still pretty drinkable First up, a bottle of Magic Hat #9 that's been in my fridge for like, um 2 years
