  1. Gonna be a long night for some staff st cp...
  2. Not my pictures, but you can see where the trains collided.
  3. I have a friend there that was in the station waiting when it happened. He says that the train in the station got hit by the incoming train at speeds of 5-10 mph. There was damage to both trains and the track. It hit at such force, that it pushed the train in the station up about 4 feet. The line was emptied out, and ems was called. He did not see any serious injuries. Staff is telling people that the ride is closed indefinitely. Not looking good! I'm glad there was no serious injuries, and hope they can get the ride back up and running soon.
  4. I would expect that from someone wearing a ohio State shirt.
  5. Attention fellow TPR members.... A last minute change in my surgery date has cause me to have to cancel going to the hoedown this Wednesday. I have a single ticket to the event up for grabs(free). Remember...you must be a season pass holder to use it. If your interested, PM me.
  6. What is the light on the train in this picture?
  7. Wxyz news in Detroit, just had a great story about steel vengeance on the 7pm news. They had a quick glimpse of Robb(recording off ride footage), and a great interview with Ann from Irvine engineering. I tried finding the story online, but no luck. Hopefully they will post the video online. Once they do, I will post it on here.
  8. What's that red and blue platform near the bottom of that screen shot?
  9. Looks like Blue streaks trains are on there way back from a major rehab!
  10. Quick question... Does anybody know why they removed the Kraken eggs at the exit of the coaster? We noticed this last week, and wondering why they are gone.
  11. Was just there last week, and it looks like they have a ways to go.
  12. That's typically the MO for most new Six Flags attractions, I think. Yea, the park opens 2 months before most other parks do for the season. That gives them less time.
  13. It looks like the preserved most of the original structure. This coaster looks crazy! Probably one of the most "twisted" compact layouts I have seen.
  14. Looking good from inside the park as well. Look at that sideways turn!
  15. We are planning on being there on Tuesday. Just got fast lanes.
  16. Check this out... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156347934698854&id=1653610238199893 Efteling park now has baby car seats on the python corkscrew coaster. The video is in another language, but easy to understand what's going on.
  17. At the park today, but stopped by last night to get a look at the new coaster.
  18. Heading to the park this weekend. Not looking like it's going to be open in time for my visit.
  19. Steel vengeance is not even open yet. How can you assume that lines for it will be less than an hour? You have to remember the park is going to be buisy as it is, and when you throw in a couple thousand coaster nerds.. .well you do the math.
  20. It was slammed durring the last coastermania that I attended. Sandusky bike week is also happining that weekend, so room rates are crazy high.Decided to skip out on the event this year for a few reasons. Plus, my kids are not tall enough to ride any of the ert coasters, nor do they have an event shirt in there size. But yet they still would have to pay full price. Not complaining, but just not worth the cost nor the large crowds for "us".
  21. Thank's for the info. It's actually next Monday that we are visiting. The one thing that I'm stumped on, is why they are only open till 7pm. By the way, are the refillable cups also good at seaworld? Planning on a couple of days there as well.
  22. Going to the park on Monday! Looking forward to it. Does anybody know when the spring break crowds invade the park? If it's expected to be buisy, we are going to get fast lane.
  23. Lol..... Kings Dominion Compromises: “We’ll keep the Rebel Yell name, but the trains will only go backwards” Posted by Anderson Tilley DOSWELL, Va. — Following a significant amount of public criticism regarding the changing of its name, the Kings Dominion roller coaster Racer 75 will revert to its original name Rebel Yell, but the trains on both tracks will only go backward, park sources confirmed this morning. “It was a tough decision, made with the utmost consideration,” Matthew Antezana, a spokesperson for the amusement park, stated in a recent press release. “However, we believe we’ve struck a compromise that will appease everyone.” Originally named Rebel Yell for the infamous cry of the Confederate soldier charging into battle, in February 2018 Kings Dominion renamed the coaster Racer 75 as an homage to both a roller coaster enthusiast group and the year the ride debuted. Up until 2008, the trains on one side of the track ran backward, which, according to Antezana, fans of the coaster have been clamoring for ever since. “Everyone’s always asking ‘will they ever make the ride go backward again?’” Antezena said. “We hope this move will excite all of our clientele, both those that wanted the ride to go backward and those who wanted the name to return to Rebel Yell for its underlying Confederate heritage. Now guests can once again enjoy the sensation of moving backward along the tracks as well as traveling backward in progress, which we think is fitting given the direction the country is going in.” “Why go forward with things when we could go backward, instead?” he asked. Antezana also revealed that Racer 75 wasn’t the only potential name or concept discussed for the iconic ride. “We briefly toyed with the idea of telling people that it had, in actuality, been named for the Billy Idol song all this time. We had a whole publicity campaign ready to launch featuring the chorus of ‘more, more, more,’ but we think this compromise suited us better,” Antezana stated. Another scrapped idea for the ride involved traveling backward through time to a mid-20th century setting. “We considered switching the name back to Rebel Yell but modifying the ride with a time travel theme where guests would disembark from the coaster and we would tell them it’s the pre-Civil War era, there’s no vaccination for polio, and children worked 70 hour weeks in factories for next to nothing. Since that seems to be the era some of the country wants to revert to, we may try it out on the Grizzly next year.” Kings Dominion hopes that its example is one that the rest of the state can follow in making decisions about these naming conventions for years to come. “This seemed like the perfect solution,” Antezana continued. “We try to make incremental baby steps in order to meet the bare minimum of decency. And if that doesn’t work, we’ll just bring something back from years ago and go backward. Honestly, that should probably be the Commonwealth’s motto at this point.” When asked if the topic of Confederate monuments and symbols being removed across the country influenced the park’s recent decisions, Antezana assured us that the company valued the opinions of the park’s patrons, before immediately changing the topic to the park’s Eiffel Tower replica. “Hey, by the way, have you seen our fake Eiffel Tower? I love it! It looks kind of like the one in Paris, right? What a great concept!”
