  1. I recommend getting the dinning plan. There is a disney site that has a lot of info on the parks, and has menus for all food locations inside the disney parks. The website is allears.net I always look at that site before booking a disney trip. They have tons of pictures and prices for everything.
  2. I just posted a ton of pictures of the park here......... http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55999
  3. I think I like jokers jinx better that the flight of fear rides. It was a smooth ride, with good transitions.
  4. I don't think I posted these pictures before, so here ya go. I have been to sfa several times, and although it's not nowhere near my favorite park, we were in the area so we stopped by for a few hours. It was a stop for us between kings dominium and six flags great adventure in Jersey. We stayed at a hotel near the park the night before, and it was located right across the street from andrews airforce base. Park sign. The park has a really nice looking gate. The main entrance and midway looks great. One of the best looking main streets of any park. Cool looking fountain. The grand theater. They had an american themed show in there. The show was "meh", but it was nice and cool in there, so that made up for the show. A shot of the show. All the costumes were out. The first ride we came to. Oh yea...and there was this guy. A shoe swing ride. got ham city. The main reason for our visit to this park. But first, we should ride this. Jokers jinx is a very good coaster. No headbanging at all. Just a mess of track. It was a walk on like the rest of the rides in the park. Both trains were in operation. Something about this picture makes me want to laugh. Random water slide in the middle of the park. The avalanch. It was closed. And now....the ride of steel. But first, we had to pay to put our fanny packs in a locker. Not sure why, we have been on every hyper coaster in america, and never had to do this. It was a walk on as well. And it was a saturday. The lift. Lot's of airtime on this coaster. Next up was the parks flying coaster, batwing. I was not looking forword to the beating I was about to endure. It looked like some kind of midevil torture device. Nerd shot. Next up was roar. It was a decent wood coaster, but a little ruff. It was also a walk on. Random flat ride. Next up was skull mountain. The last few trips to the park, this ride was closed. I was excited to finnaly get to ride it. Station shot. There was maybe a 10 min wait to ride. As you can see, you dont get that wet, but it is a fun ride. The rides boat. The ride had lots of theming. I found it funny that they play the pirates of the carribean song durring the ride as well. The final splashdown. Next up, we made the mistake of riding this. Brutal is an understatement for this ride. They should just tear it down. The guy holding his head says it all. The bumper car building looked pretty cool. Bumper cars. They had a cool looking saloon with a show. We made the mistake of eating lunch in there. There was us and maybe 2 other people in here. Random flat ride. This ride was actualy really good. Looks to be a german built ride. Not sure. Next up was wild one. Not sure why there is a ride car sitting in the grass. You guessed it....another walk on. This was a really good woody. Very under rated. The next ride we went on, was the worlds most ghetto looking train. I see you ultra twister. Reverse P.O.V The backside of superman, looks better than the front. Got ham city, and wild ones lift. They have a western show that was really good. Wild ones turn around. We did one more ride on jokers jinx and superman, and left for another park. Our hotel was right across the street for the air force base. This was the view from our room. Water tower.
  5. Is flash pass even needed at this park? I have been to the park several times, and have never waited in a line longer than maybe 10 min.
  6. Nice pictures. I would love to get to that park some day.
  7. Sigh.... I remember the days when freefalling 10 stories was actually a thrill.
  8. It's actually better now. There is at least something to look at. Before they enclosed the ride, there was nothing but sky and track walls on both sides of you. You really couldn't see much of the beach or water from the ride. I think for a while, they had employees stationed at the block brakes. I remember waiving to them as we went by. It was loosely based on an alpine bobsled. You can still see the roof of the old bavarian roof from the space spiral. When you get up high enough, look down at the unload station. The ride vehicles used to be themed to different countrys. I remember that we always tried to get the america themed car, but always ended up with the german car. The line snaked under the ride, and got very hot during the summer.
  9. I remember watching crews sweeping sand out of avalanche run's track area years ago.
  10. Disaster transport was enclosed because sand was building up inside the track. A typical wooden coaster does not have a trough as a track like a bobsled coaster does.
  11. Sand would have no effect on a wooden coaster structure...weather it be steel or wood. The only problem I could possibly see, is an issue with sand setting on the tracks. There are plenty of steel coasters on beaches/ water, so I doubt that is much of an issue. The defunct park I spoke of, was not closed because of the coaster having issues, it was closed because the park was out dated and very small. People just did not visit the small seaside parks as much once the mega parks started popping up.
  12. Was the pirat ride rebuilt at another park?
  13. There are a lot of wooden coasters on the water... Boardwalk bullet(kemiha boardwalk) Great white(moreys piers) And another wooden coaster in the works. swamp fox(family kingdom) gwazi(not far from the water) busch gardens tampa Plus the ones mentioned already, and several that used to be on the water at defunct parks like the rocket at oceanview park. The main reason that disaster transport was enclosed, was because of sand getting in the track. But that's a type of ride where sand could collect easily.
  14. Yep. Earthquake used to be where the large snoopy gift shop is on the main midway. Out of all the lost rides at cedar point, I miss the pirat ride the most. It was a really good dark ride. I remember the large pirat boat they used to have out in front of the ride. There also used to be a pond surrounding the boat, and it had cannon explosions going off in the water. Kinda like how they have on mavericks turn over the water today. The building is now used for a halloweekends haunted house, and a storage area. If you go inside during halloween, you can still see all of the markings on the floor where the dark ride tubs went. There are a few arrows on the floor as well. If memory serves me about the dark ride the rooms were as followed. I know I am forgetting a room. rooms... 1. village scene....I remember a drunken pirat chasing a girl around with a bottle 2. Bar scene.....I remember the bottle sliding down the bar. 3. swamp scene...I remember a wrecked ship with a pirat passed out drunk on it.There was also a giant octopuss. 4. Giant heart....You went right thru the heart. Not sure what it had to do with the pirat scene, but cool none the less. 5. Giant pirat boats....On both sides of you were giant pirat boats shooting cannons at eachother. 6. Treasure scenes...I believe there were pirats with treasures and some skeletons stranded on an island. 7. The hanging scene....I remember the guy being hung, and his neck streching. 8. Ride exit....I remember the skeleton with the sword at the exit along with a groan that he made. I will never forget that sound, as that is all you heard while waiting in line. I also remember the awsome art work in the station as well. I can remember a little bit of the earthquake ride, but not much. Just a bunch of buildings falling over and a witch. I remember the station and the news broadcasts that you would hear while in line. There was also a great scene painted on the wall in the station. I don't remember much else, but I think it had rather large ride vehicles as well. I hear that there are some paintings n a wall, and some marks on the floor in the back storage room in the snoopy gift shop. I know I am rambling on about the dark rides, but I have so many memories of the dark rides at the park.
  15. I noticed that the super himalaya is also missing from the ride index for cedar point. So here ya go.
  16. I bet you don't remember where the monster used to be. A few more rides you may not remember are the, tiki twirl, double ferris wheel, and king arthers court.
  17. Rotor sat where chaos is today. Calypso used to sit where raptors loop is today. Calypso used to look a heck of a lot nicer with all of it's scenery. Now it just looks like a shell of it's former self.
  18. Looks like gasm trains are for sale. http://www.irmpri.com/product.htm So I guess this means that the chances of the ride being relocated are slim to none.
  19. That ride with all it's theming and great music, does not even come close to the witches castle. Just look at this masterpiece. A tunnel of doom and a witch. How can you top that? craftsmanship at it's best.
  20. Looks like a blast. But I doubt that we will ever see anything like this in the states.
  21. Does mean streak even have that exciting of a layout compared to the newer wooden coasters? I don't see them getting rid of disaster transport anytime soon. It still has long lines(longer lines than mean streak), and it is a good "begginer" coaster.
  22. There is a maintenance shop right there. I believe that there are storage trailers in that area where they store the fireworks for the night time show.
  23. Ha... They just had a story on the local news about the monkey races. A few people thought it was animal cruelty...rolls eyes.
  24. Yea, the woodcarver is very talented. He works at the merry go round museum as well.
