  1. I would highly recommend doing the coaster tour at Busch. Cedar point can be done in 1 day if you plan your day right. At most you may wait 1.5 hours for each of the big rides like maverick, millennium force, and dragster. If there is a 1.5 hour line for each of those(probaly less), then that leaves you plenty of time to hit the other coasters. If you were going to drop a park, I would suggest dropping six flags america.
  2. Sounds like a beachside woodie to me.
  3. I believe it used to be where wildcat sits now. There used to be 2 of these types of rides in the park. The other version of the ride was located next to the scrambler where the covered tables are now. I wanna say it was called "trabant" or "roulette wheel".
  4. You ask, and you shall recieve....
  5. I would probaly only do 1 day at cedar point, and make a full day out of both Busch gardens and kings D. Seems like a lot of back and forth. Remember, KD and busch are just over an hour apart, so you have taken away several hours of passable park time right there. Give yourself more time at busch gardens and KD, they are both great parks. I stayed at the motel 6 by busch gardens. There are 2 of them in the area, but one of them is much cheaper than the other. Six flags america, can be done in a few hours if it's only the coasters you are after, but the traffic in washington is bad most of the time, so don't plan on doing much if you make it to kings D in time.
  6. Yea, I don't mind Rochester Hills. I live right by downtown, so it's nice.
  7. Ding Ding Ding...we have a winner. The woodcarver will actually make one of these for you if you want. He is also going to make miniatures of her as well. He does some really good work. I bought a replica of mill race from him last year, and love it.
  8. A few more shots. The next few shots were taken inside of hotel breakers. A look up inside the rotunda Timeline of the park. The woodcarver was working on this. Anyone remember what this is from? The old mill in frontier trail. The gears inside the mill. Are the sprayers really necessary?
  9. Mark another one off the list. Here is the derby racer...aka cedar downs. sign I like this shot. I know it's not a sign, but cool none the less.
  10. The plan was to go to holiday world this weekend, but because of car issues, we decided to hit something closer to home. We made our way to cedar point on sunday mid day. We got there around 3pm only to find a packed parking lot. No worries though, because I have been wanting to check out some of the shows. This meant that we did not get to ride too many rides. We were finally able to ride the new water ride that night, because it was not in operation all day. I have to say that I am kind of disappointed in the new ride. Not only do you get soaked, but it's just a boring ride as well. You more less stay dry during the ride, until the 2nd drop. You get blasted by water jets at the bottom of the drop. The ride really does not fill that void that was made when white water landing was removed. It is a great looking ride, and I hope they can get all the bugs worked out. We also stayed for the fireworks. They were ok. I was also able to get some pictures of the new construction markers as well. As you can see, the park was packed. I wanted to see this show, but I kept missing the show times. They had this set up outside the theater. Instead of fighting the crowds, we decided to ride the sky ride. We were not the only ones with the same idea. Yep....skyride. Looking over to raptor. There was a nice breeze up there. And some nice views as well. A flag made with flowers. I wonder if this area will look differant next year? The worlds largest grille was here this weekend. This is where the ride broke down, and we sat here for 15 min. We got to watch the meat wagons pick up all the heat stroke peeps. Oh yea...and matterhorn too. Sky ride rules...noted. The new cedarfair offices. It was a very hot day. people were seeking shade. My daughter makes sure we get this shot everytime we visit cp. Ahhh yes...A very hot day, so we decided to check out the new water ride. Uh oh...this is not looking good. They were selling rain jackets. We made it!! Sigh.....denied again. Giant wings. At least snake river falls was open. So we decided that we should at least hit a few coasters. We saw these giant tad poles while in line for maverick. White water landing...R.I.P. The former wwl station is now used to house mavericks line. Happy, happy maverick riders and sad, sad mean streak. Horse porn. Random ripoffs...err, I mean random menu. I see you dragster. We decided to do magnum next, but were held up because someone had to yack. Ok...now we have lots of new construction marker pictures. There were some stakes next to the ocean motion, and on the beach also. On the beach Another one. Looking back at ther area. If you want to have a big fat hissie fit, the gift shop inside of breakers has this for you. We made the mistake of eating at perkins inside of the hotel. They had some scary things that were staring at you while you eat. It was now fireworks time. We started to walk back into the park, and I snapped a shot on our way back in. Fireworks and wicked twister. And inside the park next to giant wheel. Lots of fireworks. After the fireworks, we decided to give the new water ride another shot. It was still in the mid 80's, so we were glad to see that it was open. It was a walk on. The crew was just looking for something to do. Random sign. For the TPR gallery. Cedar downs facts. Giddie up!! Calypso and raptor. All lit up. In case you forgot what park and what day it was. Not a very good shot, but here is blue streak with it's new L.E.D lights. Time to pick up the bitches. This is what the inside of cedar points pet check looks like. They have cages, and fenced in areas.
  11. You can't judge the popularity of a ride by the line. The most popular ride at CP is not Millennium Force, Magnum, Top Thrill Dragster or Maverick. It's the CP & LE Railroad, the ride with probably the shortest line in the park. If you want to stop sitting in the front, all you have to do is make sure you have two people in front of you who weigh more than you do . Really? When was the last time that you have seen no wait for a parks new attraction on the busiest day of the year, or any other day for that matter? Not to mention that it was the hottest day of the year, and the new water ride was still a walk on. It is kinda hard to get 2 people in front of us, if there is no other people in line. I feel bad for the park that this is happening as they really did put some thought into the ride like the theming. The park has been open for over 2 months, and the new ride is either broke or a walk on.
  12. Rode it 3 times last night. Not impressed. It was a boring ride. We were forced to ride in the front seat all 3 times, and we were soaked. I could have done the same thing on snake or thunder canyon. Not sure why they call it "shoot the rapids", as there are no rapids either. Another thing that buged us, was the water jets at the bottom of the 2'nd drop. Are they really needed? They blast you in the face. I was bummed as well, because I really wanted to like this ride, but it just did not deliver. The weather was in the 90's during the day, and in the mid 80's at night. The ride was either broke down, or a walk on all day. That is not good for a new ride on the 4th of july with very heavy crowds in the park. I did hear a lot of people saying that they did not feel like getting soaked. The back row is still closed off, and they are balancing out the boats. We got yelled at(very rude employee btw) because we tried to switch rows with someone else on the platform. We sat in the front row the first 2 rides, and wanted to try another row. Thats when we were yelled at . I guess if I had to say something good about this ride, it would be the theming. It's not the greatest theming in the world, but for cedar point it was great. The ride also looks great in it's location.
  13. Thank you. This goes in my hall of fame as one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
  14. Lots of people where at the ghetto fair today to partake in all the greatness they have to offer. There were lot's of people at the ghetto fair today.
  15. Actualy, the markings are not where the fireworks are being shot off. They shoot the fireworks off behind disaster transport.
  16. Ha ha......good find. I recommend going to see this in person for a good laugh.
  17. I agree, but what a waste of money that would be. ...To remove a coaster, just to put it back in the same spot a year later. My guess is it'll go to another park. Either way, it should be interesting for Chang this upcoming off season. And return it to a park that the chain is no longer in control of(kk).
  18. Meh.... I will pass. Too wet for me. Besides that, by looking at the webcam, it looks like the ride is broke again.
  19. Yes. It was amazing. This totaly made my 4th of july weekend.
  20. As I read this, ESPN is at the park doing a pba bowling event right on the midway. It's on espn right now, and again tomorrow at 2:30.
  21. Here they are in all of there glory. Monkeys riding dogs!!! Here is a video of the most amazing thing ever seen. (the part with the monkeys is about 3/4 the way thru the video). http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/region/macomb_county/kids-love-the-monkey-jockey-races-at-the-stars-and-stripes-festival-in-mount-clemens
  22. This is in Mt clemons Michigan. It's the stars and stripes festival. I think it goes thru the 4th. You gotta check out the monkey races. It's worth the drive alone.
  23. Being that this week is the 4th of july, we decided to stay close to home. And that can mean only 1 thing.....A trip to the local ghetto fair. This fair was put on by "wade shows". Sorry about the quality of some of the pictures, I was an idiot and forgot my memory card for my camera at home. So most of the pictures were taken with my phone. What a scam they have going for tickets. Not only does the parent have to get tickets to ride with there kid now, they raised the height requirement so that parents are forced to ride with there children. For example.....They say that the manufacturer sets the height requirement, and they have no control. Well if that's the case, why can my daughter ride almost every scrambler that we have ever seen except for this one? They say that the manufacturer set the limit at 48" to ride. But at every other place we have been to, it was38"- 43" with an adult. My daughter is 42" tall, so she was not able to ride much. The rides that she could ride, they made a parent ride with them and of course the parent had to pay also....what a scam. Like I enjoy squeezing my fat ass into a kiddie ride. They also had the worlds worst dark ride. This one blows away the lake winnie dark ride by leaps and bounds. The only thing that was inside, was a lit shelf with spray paint on it....that's it!!! Though not all hope was lost, as we ran across the banana derby. This made all the bad go away. This was the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my 39 years on this earth. Monkeys riding dogs.....that's right....monkeys riding dogs. On with the pictures... We start our day at the ghetto fair with the bannanna derby. They have monkeys..... And they have monkeys riding dogs!!! A few looks at the monkey race. Omg....hilarious Ok, enough monkeys riding dogs...onto the rides. Swamp gater??? Ok...I can't get enough of this... This ride was just pure pain. Ouch!!! The super himalaya. House of rock? It was more like the house of lame blues. It sucked. Not one gag was working. But it had a working sprinkler system in case the steel went up in flames. Whats this? Ohhhh...it's one of those giant hampster balls. For only $7, you can do this.Looks like fun, unless you have to fart. And now onto the most ghetto dark ride I have ever been on. The witches castle. It has a "tunnel of doom" and a very realistic witch just waiting to get you. Look at the fine craftsmanship of this ride. The cars were having trouble making it around the turn, so they had a guy standing there pushing the cars. The broken space loop. It was broke all day, but I did see a guy with maybe 2 teeth working on it. No rides on space loop today. They had some T-shirts on sale in one of the tents. Yea...... These shirts were on display right next to the kiddie rides. These guys are everywhere. Speechless..... They had a few more rides. Yay.....fireworks. I see that they take pride in lights. Most of the lights were burnt out on the ferris wheel. It looked like it was about to fall apart as well. So of course we rode it. The himalaya caused some serious pain. Amy came off the ride with 2 scratches that were bleeding. They did not bother to cover up the bolts sticking into the sides of the car.
