I just saw on the site for the event they updated it with more info on the attractions as well as a nice intro video.

Predator at Darien Lake. I am still trying to recover from the pain.

The website for the halloween event has been launched and it sounds great. some of the attractions include. CLOWN TOWN Freddie's House Butcher's Basement The Haunted Hotel The Cemetary Midway of Madness The Devil's Den The Fog These all sound great and I will try to make it out the first weekend. The latest Buzz is that they still are planning to I was told by several people from the park. Also the Beach Club has reopened along with the fry stand.And work is conntinuing on the Hotel Conneaut.

Great TR I was there the day before (July 31) and it was an amazing day Minus the getting lost in Cleveland. Glad you had fun.

My bet is its something big.

I am working the Fright Zone at CP for the Hallowweekends. I will also try to do a weekend for the Haunted Park at CLP. I miss running the train so I am excited for it.

The Raging Wolf Bobs, and The Big Dipper were sold to someone who plans on rebuilding them only as landmarks and not actual rides. Head Spin I am sure will run again at another CF park and Beaver Land Mine Ride has already been removed. I bet it is in storage now and will run again in 2009.

Hi all I just got home from Geauga Lake about 5 minutes ago. No I did not ride Coasters or the ferris wheel. It was the preview day for tomorrows auction. The park was very sad and depressing. I took lots of photos and I really want to post but I have to get my usb slot replaced so it may be a few days. But on to the TR. Entrance Plaza When I was rounding the lake and first saw the park today it was odd with out the Dominator and Thunderhawk not dominating the sky. I then pulled into the parking lot through the bare grounds that once held the toll booths. The skyline was as I remembered it (Minus Dominator and Thunderhawk). When I got out of my car it was very weird. It was very silent and the wind was blowing through the Head Spin area making a gostly sound that could be heard throughout the park. Without the sound of Coatser trains rolling along the track or the laughter of people having fun it was just plain silence exept the weird noise. When I paid the $10 dollar admision I was told the park will beclosing at 5pm. So I quickly headed into the park. I arrived at the park around 3:50 and the preview ended at 5pm so I had to hurry with only an hour and ten minutes. Inside The Park After I entered the park the plaza was very rundown. Paint was chipping on the buildings and garbage lay along the midway. The had a the nortons stand right in the Entrance. The also had a company that specializes in dismantling and transporting rides set up along with a carnival french fry stand selling fries among other items. The opened the Gift shop and was selling items at cheap prices. I left with almost $150 dollars worth of hats shirts and Glassware all of which was being sold at around $5-$1. Not a bad deal. Along with almost 500 photos I have plenty to remember this great park. Central Park Area After spending time in the front of the park I headed back toward the Head Spin area of the park. That area was depressing. Even though Head Spin sucks and hurts badly I would of still gave anything to take one last ride. The line was roped off and the ride is not being sold tomorrow so I wonder what will become of it. After hecking out head Spin I headed over the GoKarts the whold area is very over grown and the cars don't look in great shape. It would be fun to by a few of them though and Race around my house. Next door is star fish. There was no fence and was not roped off so I got to go right up to it. The control panel was gone along with the fence. The ride is for sale tomorrow so I think it will run again somewhere. Big Dipper Next I went over to take a look at the Big Dipper. One of the blue cars was sitting out front. The car looks like it has seen its days. The seats were ripped and the paint was faded. The station was roped off and a park employee was sitting there reminding people the station is closed. Just arcross the path is Shipwreck Falls. All it is now is a building next to a giant hole in the ground. I am glad this one will ride again. The had the old Waterpark open but I did not have much time so I decided to skip it. Kidsworks Playzone I than ventured down to the old kids area. The Rocket sle were still there along with the Gotcha Games building. Everything else was stripped out and sent to Cedar Point. While it is good that the will rides on it is still sad to see this place go. But thats what happens when the world is taken over by Corporations. Americana Area Along the way was Americana. I have never ridden it but I am sure the views were amazing. The ride has also been rotating because of the wind all day. This midway was empty with the log ride rooting away and Thunder Hawk gone it was very sad to see. All of the buildings were abandoned and dusty. I just hope some of this stuff gets saved. Villain and Carousel Area My next stop was the Villain and Carousel area. The Double Loop was my first stop in this area. I went back to the picnic groves to get pictures of the Double Loop and Villain. The ride looks great I jst hope it dosen't get scrapped and we can all ride the Double Loop once again. But the welded track will pose a problem. My next stop was the Villain which was not roped off so I got to go up the exit ramp and get pics. I got some of the loading platform and the Double loop which looked great. I just don't know about the Villain. I don't see it having a future. Both rides are being auctioned. The Haybaler was also still their with paint chipping on the building. The Haybaler will be auctioned. The Bumber Car building has been stripped and the cars are gone. The Beaver land Mine Ride was to my surprise gone. It looks like it was just ripped out of the ground. The station is still there but nothing else is left. I am curious on where that will go. Dominator & Raging Wolf Bobs Area Still trying to get in what I can I headed towards Grizzly Run. The line was roped off so I Went on my was to the Concrete slab that used to be the Texas Twister. The area looks like a twister has ripped through that area. As junk was lying everywhere. A huge pile of broken wood was lying where the Queue used to be all complement by the Facade of the builds damaged by a twister. It is sad to see. Next was Thunderhawk which is all gone except alot of footers still resting in the ground. It was also the same at Dominator all that remains is footers and the loading station which was caught on fire I belive by accident and not on purpose like everyone thinks. As why burn only a little corner and not the whole structure. But it will be missed. The old power City buildings were still in good shape along with the theater the shops were looking new. I think they will sell. Grizzly runs observation platform was opened so I went up to get photos. It was very barren and creepy I don't know if it will sell. While looking at the ride I started hearing someone over the mic saying "We will be closing at 5 which is in about 10 minutes please head out to your cars we will be reopening at 8 tomorrow morning and will be ging the auction at 10" At the time it was only about 4:40 so I made a dash for the Raging Wolf Bobs area when a security Guard came out from around the corner and said "Sir please head out to your car" It was still around 4:40 so I asked when they are pushing people out early and he said he did not know why but he was told to tell people to leave. I asked If I could get some quick pics of the Raging Wolf Bobs and he said fine so I grabbed some quick ones before leaving the guy was very nice so I was not upset at him but more at the people running the show which was Nortons. I think it is bad that the push people out that early and everyone else was thinking the same thing. On the way Out On the way out I snapped as many pics as I could. I knew that this would be my last time in the park so I wanted to get pis of what I could. I then stopped at the Gift Shop to pic up more gifts many of which was from the pre Cedar Fair Era. I got some last pics of the Plaza before leaving and grabbing some of the Entrance and the rides from the outside. It was weird knowing that This is it and I will never see it again. All of the years of Memories and Fun with my family. All of the times on the Antique Cars and in the old Waterpark all of time ridding the Big Dipper and the Double Loop are all nothing more than memories today. Geauga Lake will be missed and Will live on in my heart. Damn You Cedar Fair and Rest In Peace Geauga Lake Park R.I.P. Geauga Lake Park 1888-2008 Thanks for the Memories.

Hey TopThrill182 were you one of the 2 that followed me up the Villain Ramp and also called CF abunch of Liars when they saw the Carousel still in place?

On Saturday they finally pulled out the Blue Train and they were doing 2 train operation. But they were Stacking every time. The Anti Rollbacks on every hill except the lift have been removed so it is going alot faster. It's a big plus for Waldameer and see them doing very well this summer.

I think the crew will get it together. I over heard Paul taking about why they only are doing one train operation. He said they tested the crew on two trains before the ride ofically opened. He said the Crew was not comfortable because when you do 2 trains you have to increase your dispatches by 80%. I just hope they run 2 trains or try and speed up the dispatches.

^^^ No a local scrap company offered to remove the remains and sell the scrap. They paid for their work by what was made by the sell of the scrap and the rest of the profit was give back to the park. Go-Erie You took alot of photos from out of bounds areas. We have had a problem with people getting back there and vandalizing. Not saying anyone here would do that. Yes the Jail was on the first floor of the ballroom. I heard that the jail survived the blaze. And it was removed and will be on display at the Historical Society in the future.

I left Conneaut lake at 11am and started my way up. I was afraid of the weather as it was pouring all morning here. But it eventually cleared up. I arrived at Waldameer at 11:45 and got my wrist band. One of the first things I noticed is that the park is DEAD there was maybe five people on the south end of the park. Now I knew they were all at the Flyer and they were. Ravine Flyer ll When I got in Queue the line was about to breach the entrance. But I waited the 1 hour wait. When I arrived they were doing radio Station rides to people who won Contests. It took that about 30 mins for those rides. They were selling tickets at 4.50 dollars a piece but I found out that the Ravine Flyer 2 would be included in the Ride A Ramas. That saved me so much money. The thing that I did not like about the ride was the Operations. It was about 5-7 minutes to dispatch. First they would wait till the train hits the last park of the course before they fill the station with the rides of the next ride. then when the train came in after stoping on the break run and drifting in slowly to the station. They would open the restraints and let the rides out. Wait for all of the rides to exit before letting the next group on. They would sit down and alot of people had trouble with the seat belts. The would the wald to the front and check the seat belts then they would walt to the front of the train again and lower the restraints then they would check those. Before walking to the back of the station and giving a thumbs up. Then it was away we go. As you hit that dip out of the station you get an excited feeling. Then as you cimb the lift you get an anticipated as you look round you see the turn around and the Tom Ridge Center. When you get to the top you get a breathtaking view of Lake Erie and Presque. Before you plummet down the first drop. You get your face pulled back a bit then you fly into the first tunnel. Then on to the bridge. You get some amazing floater there. Then you hit the Turn around you get pushed to the side the whole way around before Creasing the top. It slows dow a bit there so you can get one more view of Lake Erie before Plummeting back down and across the bridge Where you get another helping of floater. Then it's into the Tunnels. The whole way throughout you get plenty of helpings of -G's then its up the hill where you fly around a turn and over a hill where you get another hit of -G's. you fly through a turn around and past the crowd in line where you hit the 90 degree turn back down the hill then quickly up the hill under the lift into some bunny hops for more floater. And a quick turn into the breaks then you get slammed to a stop. You drift down the breaks and into the station. Where paul Nelson and Steve Gorman are standing alond with the Media. lt was time for a round of applause. Before getting off and doing it again. Park But I didn't the park was empty and I wanted to take advantage of it. When walking around it was easy to tell they were expecting a huge crowd he today everything was over staffed. 2 people on the Comet, 4 on the Steel Dragon, several in Kiddie Land. But as the day went on the lowered the numbers. But anyway I went on the Comet next. Even though it is now not the top woodie of Waldameer I still enjoyed the ride as I was getting off the ride op ask if I like the Comet or the Flyer more I said the Flyer and he said "don't take it out on the Comet". I think the ride had only 20 riders all day. But next I rode the Ali Baba fun ride no wait. Then Thunder River was next . Got into a conversation with one of the ride ops about the Flyer. The I rode They had the mist working for once. Which was nice but very cold. On the first drop there was no water . which was weird. But the ride was fun. to many logs being run though. Well next was the Steel Dragon with its for Ride Operators. The one on the gate I found really annoying. I sat down and shut my Harness he then said it has to click 2 if you want to ride. But I did click it twice. I told him that and he then pushed down to click it again.And it was squeezing my stomach. They were messing around the whole time. by Taking turns riding and Distracting the main Op. The ride it's self was a let down It seemed to have got slower.But then I hit the Flyer again this time in the back seat. I like the front best. After my ride I meant with some guys from Coasterbuzz and we all meant for dinner at Syd's place just down the rode from the park. The Food was really great and not bad priced either. The were very adventurous on the menu. They had about everything. I can definitely say I will be back. We then went back to the park. And got in line for the Flyer the line was alot shorter this time. We waited about 30 mins and when we got into the station they decided to start no single rides. I find that kind of rule stupid. As I go to parks alot by myself as do others. I hope they don't don't ontinue with that rule. after i got off I hit the Wacky Shack and the Pirates Cove. both walk ons. They were both fun. My littlest brother decided he would ride the Ravine Flyer 2. It took a while to coax him into riding it. We had to do the samething for the Villain at GL. But he did and when we got in line we only had to wait 15 minutes. We rode the second from back car. Still go as the rest but not as good as the front. After that ride I hit up the Comet once again then the Train. The guy running it was mad when we got in line as he had a mad expression. I only rode to see how the Flyer looked. They Changed the turn around so it is right up against the bluff and turning around under the flyer. It left alot of space for future projects down there in the turn around. We ended the day on the Bumper Cars we got 7 rides straight before they closed the park at 8:45. 15 minutes early. All well the day was fun and I will be back Tuesday for the TPR Video shoot. On the Ravine Flyer 2. Im Ken Jones and I approve this Coaster.

I applied at CP but I dont think I got hired. So I may try and get into Waldameer in Augest (hopefully on the Ravine Flyer ll)

The one at Conneaut Lake Park can. I used to run it backwards to dry it off after rain (even though were wern't supposed to), it was too dangerous to run backward with people as the could fly right out of the seat.

It is not Geauga Lakes as Geauga's has a starfish theme. Geauga Lake's Starfish

I see now how the train will turn around. I like how they have the tracks go close to the edge before turning around. It will leave room for expansion in that area.

It might have 100 Billion fanboys drolling to ride.

If I found out I would die tomorow, I would get a genorater plug it into the Bluestreak @ CLP. Start it up and take one last ride. Lol Just Kidding

There are nice places she could go during filming like Presque Isle or the Tom Ridge Center. I am very excited for the shoot. I am 150% I will be there!
