If many of you listened to the coastercrew show In the loop on 12/2/08 where my friend Jason asked Robb and the gang a question about the rumored now dead cp dual flying coaster, you guys are in for a treat this week. I have filmed about a 1 min long clip of Jason wearing a speedo on the way to the Kalahari in Sandusky OH. This one is for you Robb because you told him that the only way that you would give him one of your DVDs is by him doing this. So this weekend was Men's Retreat weekend for my church. After retreat was over, I headed over to KD and renewed my season pass to a platinum pass. The park was pretty dead, and everything was a walkon including volcano. I rode volcano with 2 other people and it was wicked fast with only 3 ppl on it. Dominator had no wait either, did the front row without getting off twice. The mazes had no wait and I wasn't impressed though with the mazes as I was with the park activities throughout the midways. I'll let the photos do the talking, enjoy! I was at the park yesterday and for the 1st time in a long time that I have gone to the park this past summer the employees were meeting Cedar Fair standards when it comes to dealing with guests. They were doing all the fun stuff like on drop tower the ride op was telling everyone that we are going to take you up 272 ft and drop you at 72 mph and on volcano the ride ops were telling everyone that we are going to propel you at 70mph through 4 inversions in a total time of 2 mins. Dominator was closed, ugh, and wasn't running at all. The park is getting its self back on its 2 feet once again. Other than that as plans for 2009, el dorado and the ferris wheel are on site in the maintaince area. I think they are going to be building these rides in the grove section by xlc but are going to spread them out.

I'm going to the park on the 14th so I'm hoping that it doesn't rain and the crowds are decent

I'm heading out to the point on July 14th, does anyone know if mondays are the park are busy or steady? I want to get a ride on some of the newer rides like maverick, and skyhawk or maxair. I haven't been to the park since 2004 so everything else I've already done numerous times, in addition to my 03 employment at the park.

Great photos so far! I love the big mike road show, and robb with the camera, absolutely dedicated to what you do bro, keep up the great work of dedication in the coaster world.

I would of been glad to take the coaster and put it up at our church camp here in VA that is called Watermarks. We would take good care of it!

That building is the ride photo/gift shop for Dominator. I think that Dominator all together is a great addition for the park and by far the best step I've seen take place!

Painting hasn't finished yet because of the rain. They are going to push for getting the rest of the track paint completed by Saturday. I also had a talk with Ed Kuhelmann from marketing along with pkd freak and griffon on here and he told us they plan on painting the rails.

I'm the same way Tony! It was great to see and meet you today! I think I got in about 12 or 13 rides, I lost count though but a great ride at KD!

I will be at media day tomorrow with clint & the rest of the gang from coastercrew. I'll be sure to get plenty of photos depending on how long I'm occupied riding dominator for the camera crews!

I hope its better than when it was batman knight flight at geauga lake. The day I rode it it was very cloudy and the rain began on my 2nd ride on it. I'm looking forward to riding it on media day!

well I believe that we are in a weather pattern that is called "global warming". I don't know, weather is just unpredictable people!

I just listened to the radio broadcast, and from what I can see happening with the future of the park itself is what would they do if another storm were to come in off the gulf? I give full credit to southern star for going forward with this project of reopening the park back up and the options that it will be offering.

I was at the park today and made a stop to see what was going on site of dominator. There was quite a bit of painting going on. Most of the painting from the middle of the first drop to the turnaround after the high speed turn is complete. The loop was being painted today and they are painting it a dark yellow like what's in the logo. The white part is after the loop, and that is what I believe is where they will paint that yellow and it will go orange after the section of track ends. The yellow track started on the ground portion track piece before entering the loop so there is no blending of colors in the track sections. I do like the colors though and they were moving portions of one of the trains around earlier on the track in the back section (turn around into the station) behind the storage. I don't know what they were doing but they had 2 cars being pulled by a big blue machine into the turn from the station. Other than that the path going back behind dominator is about 80 percent complete. They were finishing up the ends of it today. Also the station lights were on earlier, so the coaster has power as clint mentioned.

I'm heading down there tomorrow afternoon, so I am hoping for light crowds and lots of ride time on both griffon & alpengeist. I like Griffon at night cause the view is just breathtaking as you sit before the drop.
