  1. ^^ It seemed like when I rode it a couple of weeks ago it was smoother than it has been for years. I remember when I would have neck pains getting off of that ride, lol.
  2. Glad you were able to have a fun time at the point. I can't believe that someone was that dumb to use a cell phone on a ride like Maverick. No doubt there will be some nastiness going around with that. With the wait for TTD, it sounded like when I was at SFGA on a slow day when there were school groups in the park. Alternatively, Cedar Point does run more than one train at a time on Dragster while they were just doing one for Kingda Ka. Great trip report and love the pictures of Raptor. They were great shots.
  3. IMO, Dark Knight wasn't that bad of a ride if it had more theming during the ride. The theme before you enter the station to board was well beyond what I thought was going to be on the ride. It was disappointing to have just a little bit of theming while the ride was in motion. Also, going on Media Day, a friend and I waited almost 2 hours for the ride?! Of course with it being media day, some of that wait is expected but it was a little excessive for a wild mouse type ride? It could be better but I've got the feeling that they skimped out on the ride at the last minute because of possible cost overruns...any thoughts all?
  4. Here in Huntington, most places are at $4.19 or so but you can find $3.99 in a place or two, $4.09 in a couple of locations, and $4.05 at an Exxon on Rt. 60 East out a little ways from downtown. Regardless, this is insane...will they (investors) ever realize what they are doing to us common folks? It's just adding insult to injury...I think?
  5. Hersheypark & Knoebels would be your best bang for the bucks by far. Knoebel's has a lot of stuff to do and the price isn't all that steep. Plus, if you have a puppy with you along for the ride, you can take them into the park. If you do go to Knoebels, ride the Phoenix several times. Massive air throughout the ride and a lot of fun.
  6. Hmmm...the only thing that I can really say is that Cedar Point takes care of their rides a lot better than some of ones Six Flags has under their belt. Unfortunately, while Reon and I were at SFGA a few days before this trip report, we decided not to get on KK because they were only running one train and the wait was at least 2 hours (if not more). Thanks for the trip report though - sounded like you had fun
  7. That's awesome...sounds like you had a great time. One coaster (and more) down for your friend...hundreds more to go. Let the credit fest begin
  8. Knoebel's in my opinion seems to have the best operation crew and staff thus far. Dollywood is a close second though...they have great crews there and definitely keep Mystery Mine moving very smoothly.
  9. That is really unfortunate. My friend and I rode the early part of last week and it didn't seem like there were any problems with it. These things will happen but I don't know if there is an anti-rollback device on the ride...it may just be a straight chain lift. Glad that nobody was hurt but the cars do bump quite a bit once they unload the guests off the ride before they load them into the cars for another cycle.
  10. That was at the Polaris Fashion Place on the East Side of the Mall. It is next to the food court. They're also doing construction right next to it for something that I'm not sure. Looks like it'll be some more shops and another anchor. They just opened Von Maur a few months ago too. Doug
  11. JJ, you couldn't of said it better. Give the people credit over there...at least they're doing what they can to make their lives a little less frightening and more fun. Be supportive of a new amusement park coming on board...oye!
