  1. It is great to see CF adding something that will be cool for the whole family at CP. Now if they would only add a dark ride!
  2. Cool capture from the DB webcam this morning. Train peeking out from storage/transfer track area. DBTrain.bmp
  3. From when I was a kid to my late 30s it was Waldameer, moved 4 years ago and it became GL- RIP... now CP
  4. That is cool, it will be in good hands there. Now if they could get that darn Flying Turns working...
  5. Gay here, have a partner and an 11 year old son. I have found TPR to be a really great group with most not caring at all one way or the other. I guess my strongest orientation would be homocoasteran...
  6. Average temperatures for Sandusky on May 18th and 19th are between 49 and 70 degrees (Weatherunderground.com). During the day should be nice but the evening will be chilly. My cousin lives in Houston and Ohio weather is cold for her in July so May will be chilly for you. I live about 45 minutes from the park and always love going on weekdays in May. Very short lines. Have fun!
  7. Thanks Robb for posting this, being a huge fan of the movie and the car this place is the holy grail. I had no idea that there was a shop like this. Definitely going to hit it when we are there in March. WOW Thanks again... I am so excited.
  8. Planning a family trip to Southern California in late March, Disney, Legoland, Knott's and best of all the WCB 2009 at SFMM! In my home state, Diamondback on April 17th!
  9. WOW very cool quilt/blanket! I need to start watching the sales racks at the parks... Dang, all those 5$ T-shirts at Geauga Lake that weren't my size last year would have made a cool quilt.
  10. Waldameer- Ravine Flyer II It is just so much fun and doesn't get old... rode it 68 times last summer.
  11. ROS, Darien Lake, front row. Looking down 200 feet to the murky green water is awesome.
  12. My home park is Cedar Point Best coaster is MF
  13. SWEET, we will be there from Ohio! Looking forward to it!
  14. It has jumped in Northern Ohio from around $1.50 last week to $1.95 this week...
  15. Just a quick Happy B-Day from your friends on the chilly north coast of Ohio, Zak, Dan and Jagr
  16. ^ The comment you made to the people that think PR is rough, I fully agree, PR is perfect. I don't get the comments on painful areas. For me it is one of the best steel coasters ever built.
  17. OK Robb cool, not trying to be a pain, LOL. Just trying to plan a vacation from Ohio.
  18. Has the date for the West Coast Bash 2009 been announced yet? Is it going to be March 22, 2009? Thanks!
  19. I am jonesing for Diamondback, after the brilliance of Behemoth I am expecting Diamondback to be amazing! Also, I need to get that Ravine Flyer II fix. I am as excited about its opening day as if it was new this year!
  20. My first time on it was last July, looking to just catch the credit I was really surprised at how wild a kiddie coaster could be. I ended up riding it 3 times. One quote made it sound like it would be there for a couple more seasons but the other seemed like it would not re-open this year. The 2009 Rate list does have it listed. Hopefully it will be running in May during the Spring Preservation Conference. It would be cool to get a few more rides in.
  21. CoasterTube is very cool, Coaster TV is good too... but can understand the reasoning for CoasterTube. When I first read it I instantly thought of coaster videos. Not so much with TPR TV.
  22. Looks like The Gravity Group has developed another winner. Gosh it sucks that it is winter (neg 1 degree wind chill right now in Ohio). I am jonesing for the Ravine Flyer or The Voyage. May can not come fast enough! Looks like China is on the trip list in the next couple of years. Is there a virtual POV of this coaster yet?
  23. This is such a subjective question. I think all parks have good and bad points about them. It is always easy to pick on the big guys like CP and SFGADV. CP is my home park since GL closed (conspiracy, CF planned on closing it all along, I will never believe the truth). I visited CP 21 times this last season and overall was impressed with most aspects of the park. Yes $5 french fries SUCK but I had some really great experiences also, like going to the Snoopy on Ice show with my son and really enjoying an entertaining show or when the MF crew opened the connecting gate between the unload and dispatching stations so that we could get off the train and get right back into the queue without having to walk all the way around (last night of the 2008 season). In July I was at SFGADV and was surprised to find such a well kept park with friendly staff. I am really surprised that Kennywood has been mentioned. KW for me is one of the best parks in the world. It has charm and class and a nostalgic feeling you do not find in many parks. The rides are great and the variety is awesome. We have to be careful as enthusiasts that we do not become cynical or expect the world. These are businesses that all try to give a good value for the dollar. None of them purposely try to offend its guests.
  24. The Innsmouth Look- by The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets
