  1. The second coaster is nice but please do something about the foliage and colours on the first screen. I mean how many trees do you know that are that bright. Just put normal trees in instead it'll look a lot better. Cheers 89James89
  2. Hi everyone and welcome to the official source of news around the newest park to hit the world Cliffside Amusements! This park is hopefully gonna become really big and well known but we all have to start somewhere. Luckily for you lot (especially construction picture junkies) we literally are gonna be covering it from the ground up. Just so you know I'm Carl Halret and have the brilliant job of being the parks public relations official with unlimited access to anywhere on site so expect a lot of pictures from me. First visit was yesterday when I received a e-mail form my boss Mr Peffrey saying that he was ready for the park to go public and that if I wasn't busy could I come and take some pictures of the construction so far. I of course didn't refuse and made my way to the park (*cough* construction site *cough*) early this morning. Well it was different to what I expected firstly there was hardly any evidence that a park was under construction their and secondly apart form the small wood they were building the entrance on the edge of there was very little vegetation on the top of the cliff. Oh well I thought to myself it'll save money on tree removal and carried on anyway. Right here are the pics: 1st construction season Initial construction pics: (real date: 16-1) This is the entrance building going up and ticket offices can also be seen partly built. Hard hats on everyone lots of machinery around: And a pic from the back. The building isn't massive but it'll serve its purpose: Locker building on the right after the entrance: First shop on the left hand side: Overview of construction: And finally a overview of the space we have and don't worry a e-mail I received a few moments ago confirmed that the landscaping team are going to plant more trees: Right there you go. The first view at this new and hopefully exciting park. Comments so far would be great though I know theres not really that much there so far. Until next time! Carl Harlet (Cliffside amusements PR manager) (OOC: CS used so far (I think this is all of it): Shy guys sets Stucco walls set Stucco roof set Vodhins Vermont lights Klins Framework Aces construction set (I think its his) )
  3. Right here we are with part 2 of the before opening sneak peak and this time we get to the first themed area. This area has cost us over 18,000 with 12,000 of that going into one ride. The pictures will show you everything there is to see but this is the attraction and services list: Castle Themed Area: Amenities: Royal grill sandwiches building (with included restrooms) Castle Information Rides: Garden Swing Kings Horses Tower Falls Right onto the update firstly we'll be showing you the pictures of the services and then we'll move onto the rides but before we start heres the picture of the park logo that I promised last time. The idea is a simple one and more mascots photos will be added as new areas open up. On this you can also see the castle areas mascot Petrifying Pumpkin (though don't worry hes not that scary): Now the first thing you see when you enter the castle area is this: Then this is a picture of the buildings in the area the stone one being the information building and the far one on the other side is the entrance to the Kings Horses which we'll show you below: This is the signs and the actual ride for the Kings Horses: Signs: The ride: The second ride of the area is this Garden swing ride (both this and the carousel we picked up for cheap from a local fair nearly brand new): And finally the shots of the ride that cost us so much. A Intamin Flume ride called Tower Falls. This ride is pretty large and will hopefully be the biggest draw until we can get a coaster installed. Anyway here are the pictures: Firstly warning sign and ride logos: The station building form queue line: The top of the hill lift: The trough at the bottom of the drop: The exit to the ride; Right thats all for now but we'll be back soon with some opening day pictures for you all. Have a happy time!
  4. Firstly the reason for this park. Now I have decided to follow a route I haven't actually seen here and include money in my park. By this I don't mean give estimates on the amount that me park takes but actual figures. These of course will be in RCT scale so if I say a coaster has cost us £20,000 to make a coaster then its in RCT money terms not real money terms (as then that would be stupidly cheap let alone £700 for a flat ride). This idea I got form looking at a rct2 park and want to see what it would be like in rct3. Anyway onto the first season of the park in hand. ----------------------- HAPPY TIMES PARK GROUP PRESENTS ADVENTURE WORLD Well we here at Happy Times Park Group would like to welcome you all to our newest park Adventure World. This will hopefully be a large Theme park but we all have to start somewhere. Firstly we had £50,000 to start with not exactly enough to buy a park like Wonder World but hey we have to start somewhere. This then went down further as we bought the land needed and installed a car park. The land cost us £25,000 and came with the added burden of not allowing a major landscaping so oh well theres that out of the window no senselessly tall mountains costing us a bomb and looking so out of place that the park goes down hill fast (sorry Bert the mountain to heaven will have to wait). Anyway with £25,000 left we cracked on. £25,000 we thought would get us quite far after looking at the prices but no when our major ride took £12,000 away and left us rather dazed and confused we had to rethink our plans. Oh and while were at it this ride will be announced in our next part not this one so stay tuned for that. Anyway this update will concentrate on the entrance square which in total cost us £14,000 on top of the other are costing us £18,000 (yes we had to take a £7,000 loan stupid expensive park). So anyway enough boring you with figures lets get onto the pictures of the sneak peak before we open (hopefully to a onrush of rich guests or else were all screwed). Firstly we have a entrance square attraction and amenities list. Amenities: Entrance Gates (no tickets booths as its a pay per ride park for now) Papa's Pizzeria Information and lost property Toilet block Rides: City Tumble And finally now the pictures: This is the shot of the entrance (yes I stupidly forgot to remove the park fence around the edge). Also in this pictures frame you can see the areas mascot Larry leopard who acts as a entertainer to the area. Each of the areas of the park will have a different mascot and frame design so its easy for you to tell where the update is situated. Also the park times and park logo can just be seen in the park but we'll get a larger one for you soon don't worry: This is the first area view of the entrance square which also shows the new lights we are installing as the old ones weren't very bright. Also seen is the pizzeria, toilets and centre pond type thing: This shows the pizzeria in a bigger image: This is a shot of the toilet building which is next to the only ride in the entrance square which we'll show you in a minute: This is the information building where you can buy park maps and umbrellas (though if you truly need a map in a park this size your quite frankly pretty dumb) Also a really small teaser of whats to come can be seen: Now the only ride on the entrance square,a Huss Top Spin (came in pretty cheap at under £1500 including theming and ride booth, queues etc) called City Tumble. This will hopefully be the second highest earning ride in the park but we'll have to see come opening day. Anyway logo first: (Not a brilliant shot but oh well here it is): And finally our last shot another area one of the entrance plaza form the entrance to the themed area: Well thats all for now hope you like it as much as our guests will and stay tuned for next time we'll get to more than just one ride and also this money guzzling one that I was on about. Have a happy time!
  5. Its an amusement park so the rides may or may not be themed and as of yet there is no overall theme. Cheers 89James89
  6. Sure its Aroundthehorns catwalk set and thanks glad you like the advertisement. Cheers 89James89
  7. Julius Mamber here to let you have a exclusive viewing of a new advertisement we've released. Its not much but it'll have to do until we realse more. Here it is: Hope you all enjoy! Julius Mamber 'Keeping you updated on upcoming fun!'
  8. Looks pretty cool to me and looking forward to the first pics. As for the rides I'd say: 1. Water Coaster 2. Dueling Inverted Coasters 3. Barnstormer Ride lol Cheers 89James89
  9. Hi its Julius Mamber, the head of publicity for the newly formed amusement park company Blue Diamond Amusements. Previously a coaster part manufacturer we have now moved into the amusement park business with our first park here outside Washington. This news extract explains more: As of yet we have little else to shed light on but rest assured as head of Publicity for the Blue Diamond Amusements Croup I will do the best to keep you out of the dark starting here with a park logo. So thats all for now more later. Julius Mamber
  10. Basically what he means is this. He will build a park but ask for our input. An example below. (Imagine I'm building a park) Right its the end of season 2 and we'd like to know what sort of improvements you'd like in the park below is a list of choices were suggesting and we'd like you to vote for your favourtie 3. A. a carousel B. More shops on midway C. Cheap kiddie coaster D. More theming for existing rides E. New entrance area You'd then make you 3 choices and the top 3 choices will be the ones that he does. This way you have a input into what the park will turn out like. A different way to participate would be if there was a shop challenge. I have 3 plots: A. 2x4 squares B. 3x4 squares C. 2x2 squares I'd like you to design a shop for me and post a picture of it with the plot number and sets used. if yours is chosen I'll need the save file with it on it and then I can put it in the park. Hope the above helps. As to your request yea sure I'll help if I can and good luck with it Cheers 89James89
  11. Right Craig here again to show you whats gone on for year 2. Firstly were proud to say that year one was a really good year for us. The sales form tickets had soared by our expectations for the whole season half way through. This has allowed us to put more time into bringing new things to the park to keep attracting the numbers. Firstly though before the new stuff some changes: > Firstly Insomnia and Little Rider got a new paint jobs as the colours were dubbed as boring (close up shots next update). > The Ferris Wheel was moved (reason will become clear in a minute). > Scenery was moved around or removed for changes to taek place. Now onto the new things: Added 2 new rides: 1. Soaked! A Intamin Splash Boat ride themed to the Tropics. 2. Atlantis Adventure. A Odesuey boat ride themed to atlantis/Tropics. 2 new buildings: 1. Customer Services for Entracne Area 2. Tropical Tastes for the new Tropical Zone. As you can see the Tropical themed Tropical Terror was a real success and people loved the themeing so we decided to expand on it. Also we decided to split the park up into zones but you'll see all this in a sec. Ok so now all thats out of the way I've got some pics (well park maps) for you all. Firstly the overview of the park. Not an amazing map but it serves its purpose for the time being: As you can see colour coding was chosen to make the map very easy to use. Anyway onto the actual sectional maps. The entrance area first: Then onto the Thrill Zone wich now houses the moved Ferris Wheel: The rather small Kiddie Zone: And finally the new area and reason for the moving of the Ferris Wheel: Well thats it for now next update will be some close up shots of the new stuff as well as stats for Soaked!. Hope you all enjoy. Cheers Craig
  12. Looks promising but I dont really like the default entranace. Also name a peep David Walsh then press ctrl+u to get rid of the menus when taking pics as it will make them look better. Just press ctrl+u afterwarsd againa nd you'll get it back. Cheers 89James89
  13. ^ Thanks though Ive never even heard of that caoster lol. Right Craig here to let you all in on a small teaser pic of whast to come for year 2: Hope you like it and we hopefully wont be to long before we have a proper update and some information on how year 1 went. Cheers Craig
  14. rckazy06: Thanks for the info it does come in handy and I didnt knwo about the inversion count as I wasnt sure whether inversiuons like a cobra roll count as 2 or 1 inversions lol. The colours will be changed as that was gonna be part of the revamp of the park in year 2 lol. Oh yeah the next update will be the start of year 2 and all I can say is you will get wet. Cheers 89James89
  15. Yer KPP it is mean tto be 5 not 6 lol. Also the buildings are a little blocky I see what you mean but most real life amusments parks do really have blocky buildings. I have tried to break things up and as the park is going to be a year by year one then you can expect lots of improvements to come. I will probaly get a vid for yuou all in a couple of park years when I work out how to do it lol. Cheers 89James89
  16. (Thanks guys and no no cs was used) Right Craig here to show you some close ups of the rollercoasters in the park. We'll start with Insomnia and completed stats. 17. NOTE: This is a no cs park (Right I started this park back before my Fanfair Amusement. It was meant to be a testing ground for the coaster (now known as Insomnia) but after I had messed around seeing what theming was like without using cs I grew pretty fond of it and so built up a park around it. A no cs park is actually pretty easy to do so I will be continue with this and the other one (may get a update later today) So enjoy this park and just so you know it has nothing to do with the company Fanfair Amusements (yet at least)). Right Craig Haland here to tell you about our brand new Amusement Park were opening up here in the states. This park known as Dormant Amusements Park has been brought to you by my highly successful engineering company form back in the UK and so is our first foray into the world of Parks. It isnt however the first foray into related stuff as we've worked closely with Arrow providing them with brakes and other important parts form our company. Anyway enough of that first some park history. First planned by the Endgame Engineering ltd in 1986 this park was put on hold for 2 years until the cash could be raised. Come 1988 though the cash was there and so together with Arrow Dynamics they designed and bought the first coaster. Now a problem with shipping resulted in the coaster ending up in the US and not the UK and on the way to sort this out and get it shipped back to the UK the companies CEO Craig Haland, decided that it wasn't such a bad thing in the end and so moved the park out here instead for the much wider market. So with that very important decision throwing the park on its heads for a few months as the crews were brought over, the park forged its way on with the coaster construction and finished the now named Insomnia coaster. This was followed by the entrance and car parks as well as the family coaster form Zamperla, Little Rider. These two rides and the entrance and car park meant the foundations of the park were quite happily there and so construction began to fill in the missing parts and get ride numbers up to a satisfactory level. All things finally came to fruition when the park reached its deadline easily and so is ready for a opening 1990 season pictures of which you can see below. Park Stats: Location: Sate of New York Number of rides: 8 Services include: Food stalls and gift shops, Toilets and First Aid as well as on site Ticket offices Opening season: 1990 Ticket Prices: NA as you have to buy bands to ride the rides atm as were not sure of the success of the park. Right now thats out of the way onto the pictures. Firstly I would like to introduce our staff and although all of them aren't here (we'll do the rest next time) we'll just introduce the ones that are. Firstly the engineering crew led by Noel Hankins (the guy in the center). These guys make sure the park is running smoothly. Next is the boys that make sure the place is looking nice led by Greg Jall (centre again). Right now the pictures you all really want to see I'll show themas if you were walking through the park. First off the small car park that was like this on most days of the season so far obviously showing us we need a bigger car park. Then we see the run up to the park again busy all season so far. This is the ticket booth plaza with toilets also available for our guests. Now the inside entrance area of the park. From left to right you can see the First Aid building, Fast Food outlet, Entrance and then the Gift shop. Also present are the old style walk on Carousel and a small Ferris Wheel. Traveling left the first thing you see is the Teacups ride but also along here is a small sandwich bar and a toilet block and the Enterprise ride. Then you come to the main attraction the coaster Insomnia. This is the Arrow Looping Corkscrew model coaster designed by both us and Arrow. Stats: Location: Dormant Amusements, US Made by: Arrow Dynamics Top speed: (will get missing data for you) Highest Drop Height: (will get missing data for you) No of Inversions:4 Loop Serpent Roll (not entirely sure what the actual name of this is so we made it up) corkscrew corkscrew Trains: 2 6 car trains with 4 seats per car (both same colour atm) Heres a overview picture for you will get more for next time. Then traveling back to the centre of the park we go right and the first thing we come across is the family coaster. Stats: Location: Dormant Amusements, US Made by: Zamperla Top speed: (will get missing data for you) Highest drop: (will get missing data for you) No of inversions: 0 Trains: 2 6 car trains each car sitting 2 people (ladybird design) Overview of the coaster again: Now you move onto the park third biggest ride and the biggest flat, a Insanity. I don't quite know why it and the toilet block received a Tropical theme but it helped us name it and doesn't look too bad. So I present Tropical Terror and the chairswing. Lastly a overview picture and also a night time picture for you all. So thats all for now but all comments and criticism's are appreciated. Thanks and hope to see you here soon. Craig
  18. kk thats lucky made it 24x25 (as near to square as its gonna get) and half don about half of it so far. Ive managed to include 2 flat rides a log flume and a coaster and its not crowded yet and should have it done by thursday to show you all. Cheers 89James89
  19. umm as far as I can tell it can be any shape you like as long as its 600 squares lol so you could have it 60 squares long by 10 squares wide lol. Actually Ill give this a go as I'm bored provided I got he right idea above. Also can we just add trees and such around the outside of the park but no rides or buildings or not dosen't matter if I cant though. Cheers 89James89
  20. Right Im back with more in progress shots for you all. All the rides have for the first season have now been installed. Her is a list of the rides in the park for you all. Kiddie Rides: Shining Stallions (Merry Go Round) Tea Party (Teacups) Family Rides: Blackdown Screening (3D Cinema) Thrill Rides: Sunrise (Launched Freefall) Pirate Gold (Swinging Ship) Alpine Avalanche Simulation (Simulator) Rollercaosters: Timber Terror (Wodden coaster) Blast! (Launched Junior Coaster) Anyway next time we should be ready for opening season and have a map with a key for you. For now though I can show you the in progress shots for the 4 rides added since the last update. Tea Party: Sunrise: Here is the outer facade of the final two rides that are both enclosed. The building still needs work but we think it si coming along well and aslo provides a more Mainstreet apperance to the opening area which we were aiming for: A overview for you all also showing some more buildings and also planters breaking up the paths: Hope you all like the improvments until next time. CEO Karny
  21. this looks really nice and shows you hae some real talent. The before and after pics are a nice touch too but I will say that your comment on definitely more than 3 colours confused me a bit. Surely a themed area can look good with just that many colours as I have come to notice that too many colours make the place look crowded and unplanned. Cheers 89James89
  22. Yup we plan to fill in that gap with maybe a few more rides and shops toilets etc before opening day don't worry. CEO Karny
  23. CEO Karny here again to present you with pictures of our second and last roller coaster to be at the opening of the park. It was originally projected to be a roller coaster for the younger members of the park but it got a little out of hand in the design stages and ended up being the junior model but with a 40mph launched (still gave the park a pretty much unique coaster). The train is then shot up a hill and precedes to dive steeply into the station area and under the station before preceding to complete the rest of the circuit which also includes a pretty neat air time hill for a junior coaster. So all in all we now have a unintentionally planned signature coaster for the park. Anyway here it is. May I present Blast! Station Building shots: Heres a overview shot of the coaster: And finally not really regarding the new coaster but heres a overview of how the whole park looks now. Note that we have greatly increased the vegetation around Timber Terror (to tie it in further withs its name meaning that that coaster is nearly finished). Comments and critiscm appreciated as always. So until next time. CEO Karny
  24. Here we go update for ya all (still work in progress though). This shows the first roller coaster of the projected two to go up for the opening season and we have chosen a wooden coaster to debut the parks coaster family. May I present Timber Terror Entrance and station building (other side includes storage area and maintenance area): (OOC: A shot showing the support work I have done for the coaster (is all over it lol) The entire extra supports is made using 1 custom scenery piece lol. Also note now that I was really happy by the results but its a pity that i couldn't find and decent footers so just left them like they are which kind of damages the overall look but hopefully when the vegetation is complete most of the lower supports will be hidden.) This is the overview of the coaster: Hope you all enjoy them. Cheers CEO Karny
  25. Thanks like I said I wasn't to sure but Ill add coaster 1 and theme it a bit and just see what it looks like. Cheers 89James89
