  1. FL wait times for the major coasters (SV, Maverick, Valravn, Raptor, Millie) will often get to approximately 1/4 of the standby wait times. For example, if SV is posting a 3 hour standby wait, the FL wait will be approximately 45 minutes. Yes, this is typical, even before COVID during normal operating season. Yes, FL+ is always worth it at this park, unless it's a Wednesday and looks like its about to downpour and the moon is in the third phase after Venus. Not sure how many more times we need to say it LOL.
  2. Man, @Alex Sutcliff, have I got some good news for you. First, with your paid ticket, for say for a Wednesday, you also get admission for the last two hours on Tuesday night. So, if your travel arrangement permit it, I highly recommend taking advantage of this and getting some rides the night before while the crowds are dying down. Second, Chocolate World and Gardens both open a full two hours before the park, leaving you ample time to do those before your day at the park. Third, the zoo opens a full hour before the park, giving you plenty of time to wander around and start your day there. As for the rides, note that the the park hours are 11-7 mid-week in August. That said, with a Fast Track/Unlimited, you should have more than enough time to hit the major coasters as well as take a walk through the zoo. Keep in mind that the Fast Track only *really* helps with Fahrenheit and Great Bear (these drop you in the station); all of the others from what I remember from last year have the merge point somewhat back in the line. Note also that this plan does not take into account doing the water park, which I absolutely do not recommend trying since lines there are atrocious, even for the lazy river and wave pool (which yes have queue lines). Just don't do it.
  3. Only if you plan on visiting before 5/31. After that, reservations will not be required period.
  4. Apologies. I had misread your posts, I hadn't realized that you haven't been to the park yet this year.
  5. They haven't been open "7 days a week from opening day" for like 15+ years. Your ability to know that opening day is going to be a shitshow is based on your own research...if you were relying on your experiences from almost two decades ago, that's your own fault. Had you done any research into what the park is like in the past 5 years, you would see that opening weekend is always horrible, and before Memorial Day is a crap shoot as to what will be closed. Every. Single. Year. Except 2020, cuz y'know.
  6. My understanding is that it's due to the construction of Tiki Twirl in the old Crypt spot. If you look at this map, it doesn't look like there's much space to work behind it, so they'd have to be in front of it, right in the pathway, to work.
  7. Incredible! I'm going to talk about it when I do my report, but the new track sections (basically everything between the bottom of the first drop and the turnaround) is new, and in the front and row 5 at least, are Mystic-Timbers-smooth, no joke.
  8. How disappointing. So long as it's not gone for good. At least we've still got i350, Twisted Timbers, and Rebel Yell to celebrate.
  9. First day at Kings Island for 2021 is in the books. All around, despite being very busy, I got two rides on almost everything I wanted to (Banshee was down when I went by for my second lap), closed out the night in the only way you should at this park, and even got myself an awesome grilled cheese donut. That said, it was thanks entirely to having Fast Lane...without it, the day would have gone very differently. Full report coming in the next few days. Now to try to wake up for the 8 hour drive to Kings Dominion to check out their passholder preview tomorrow. Yeah that's not happening.
  10. I saw a couple of YouTubers giving detailed analysis of why the moon landing was faked, or insert your chosen conspiracy theory here. Must be true.
  11. From time entering the queue to walking down the exit stairs was 13 minutes for the front row. This while the app was posting a 90 minute standby wait.
  12. Just had my longest wait of the day (with FL+): for two sandwiches at Tom + Chee at around 45 minutes LOL. Cedar Fair, if you're listening, I've got a great idea to make some more money: Fast Lane for restaurants. Make it happen.
  13. So I'm here an hour and a half before opening and there's like 100 cars in front of me. Yeah that all season fast lane was worth it LOL.
  14. If people wanna dream of Jersey Devil opening on Memorial Day, let them. My money is on Labor Day.
  15. It looks exactly as it did on the 2019 map. Pretty sure it's just a re-name.
  16. The last time Twisted Timbers ran, in 2019, they did nothing similar to what is being done at SV. There was a metal detector in the station - if it went off, they handed you a red card. If it didn't, you got a green one. When you got into the train and had a red card, the operators watched you put your cell phone in the under-seat pouch. Or not...I never had anyone say anything to me despite having plenty of red cards.
  17. @ytterbiumanalystPlease check your PMs. I'll no longer engage in conversation not related to parks, visiting parks, or complying with park regulations in the thread. I've learned from my past mistakes regarding that.
  18. The old ones were PIN based...if it didn't ruin your memory of your locker number and PIN before it won't now. Jeez. Give it two days; I'm sure someone here is going to the park on opening day and can report.
  19. Those of us waiting for a full FDA approval would never lie.
  20. You may have to expand that to $500 or so. Hertz is showing me rentals starting at $99 a day before fees from Detroit Airport on the days you're going. Sadly another tragedy of the COVID shutdowns were rental car companies selling off large portions of their fleet, and now that more people are traveling, demand is outstripping supply.
  21. Except Flight of Fear, and probably Boo Blasters...cause indoors. @ZandGet a Fast Lane+ on Monday; I'd skip it on Sunday unless you're going to be there for a while. Miami River Brewhouse, as stated above, and Tom+Chee.
  22. I didn't think you were. And yeah, MRB always tends to have a line...I always just bypass it and tell the host/hostess I'm going to sit at the bar LOL.
  23. I missed it. What did they change?
  24. Unfortunately Melt isn't on the meal plan at CP....but all of you casting dispersion on it, what is wrong with you? Not only is their standard grilled cheese awesome, their grilled cheese burger is quite good and their "fried mac & cheese on a grilled cheese" is incredible. The mac & cheese side is also pretty damned good, and they're a full service bar so you can get your drink on too. Tom + Chee thankfully is on the meal plan at KI (but sadly only the standard offerings). Their most awesome, the grilled cheese donut, is not. Miami River Brewhouse is also a great food option at KI, and has the bonus of being a full service bar as well. Them, and Tom + Chee, are why I always get the all-day dining plan at KI. Just don't bother trying the pizza, neither from the one near Beast, the one in the Festhaus, nor the one on international street - it is all disgusting. The breadsticks are pretty good though.
  25. Absolutely second this notion! I go back and forth between this place and Melt at CP as having the better grilled cheese sandwich.
