  1. I think the board will end up keeping him because it's someone with experience, that can turn the company in the right direction. If not him, who else do you suppose they get? In other SFA news, my employee friend told me that the park replaced some people on their management staff.
  2. Does that mean he is going to start making changes within recent months, rather than taking his time and expanding it to years. Or does that mean he is not going to be CEO long?
  3. Well sorry that my shuttle bus ideas is a flop. It was just a random idea that I had. Still no new news on what Alexander Weber has planned for the parks.
  4. You have a good point. My idea of the shuttle buses were to bring a higher attendance of people to the park. Hopefully that higher attendance would support the amount of people being at the park to help pay for a new attraction. But I guess, I didn't think it all the way through.
  5. As for the shuttle buses, I didn't mean they had to be in every corner. Just a few of the main places. Some popular spots would be National Harbor, Arundel Mills Mall, and maybe George Town. Those are three good spots to put shuttle buses in and people are around there all the time during the summer.
  6. But do you think he would say that, to a park that has 523 acres to build on and is currently only using 131 acres. Thats a lot of land to let go to waste. Not to mention, the park is very close to Washington D.C. and Baltimore. That's a lot of people that the park could attract on a regular basis if given the right improvements. Not to mention the park is like 99.9 percent Metro system accessible. You take the blue line to (Largo Town Center) and then a Metro Bus can take you right across the street from the park. Lets also mention that the park is right up I-95 from (National Harbor). If shuttle buses were set up, so many people could get brought to SFA. And if they had more stuff in there, people would love it. Atleast thats what I thought Alexander Weber would think if he came to Six Flags America. Remember, he has 40 years in theme park operations, so he knows how to draw crowds into theme parks. Being that close to DC and Baltimore area, should be open up new ideas to his idea thinking.
  7. If Alexander Weber, takes a tour of the Six Flags parks, what do you think he will say about SFA? Do many of you think he will say, we have to do something in order for this park to compete with it's closest rival? Will he say, the park needs to continue with it's family installations? Will he say, the park needs to fill in more of the empty spots? Will he say, lets upgrade what we currently have? Will he say, the park needs to under go a new management? Specifically, people that he knows from Paramounts?
  8. But atleast you noticed that Joker's Jinx is kind of slow when it gets to the top of the ride. It doesn't keep it's speed and slowly regains it's momentum. Even Flight of Fear at Kings Dominion has more speed than Jokers Jinx, even with the breaks up at the top of the ride. It still some how regains the momentum very quickly and packs the punch throughout the rest of the turns and the final inversion in the ride. Hopefully one day the ride can improve either by getting better trains or giving the LIM's a small jolt in the launch so that the ride is a little bit faster when it starts. There is a small procedure that the maintenance crew can do in order to give the ride more speed. One weekend when their not open, they could adjust the (stator coils) and space them further apart. Spacing the stator coils further apart, creates a stronger magnetic field, then giving the train more speed on the launch. Creates more torque. My guess, is this is what they did for rides like Flight of Fear and Poltergeist. Joker's Jinx has probably not gotten this treatment. Superman needs new trains.
  9. How have I become your hero? Second, it would be kind of cool if we found out that the park sent the train to (Premier Rides) for modifications and improvements. So they just leave the yellow train there, so the ride can stay operational until the pink train returns. Once the pink train returns, they may do the same thing to that one. We will know if this is true, if it comes back and the ride feels a lot better. I always thought it needed some tweaking or a small jolt in speed, so that it doesn't slow down towards the top of the ride. Poltergeist at SFFT seems to keep its speed during the whole ride. Joker's Jinx needs the same treatment, so that it can pack more thrill.
  10. Thanks for the updates. And you said Superman was running a better than it has been in the past few seasons. Good to hear that, because I also thought it was slow in previous years. As for the spot near Roar, I would rather see a new and improved building get built for a haunted house. Reason why is because its kind of small and there are far better spots than that one. We have been contemplating about Two-Face's old spot and the land between Superman and Batwing. Both of those pieces are two big spots for fairly decent coasters. The spot next to Roar should be used for a new haunted house building in order to spice up a 2011 or 2012 Fright Fest. Other than the train ride, there wasn't anything else worth coming to see at Fright Fest. A neat idea I had in mind for a new haunted house, would be something that is two levels. You start off on the bottom and then make your way upstairs. For the exit, you would slide down a slide and out the other end of the building. It would be something completely new. Another good suggestion involves bringing the (Haunted Hay-Ride) back in action. It was really good when the park did it. In other opinions, it would really surprise me if Alexander Weber managed to spice up all the Fright Fest at Six Flags parks on his first year. But he would have to get plans in with the park GM's now if they wanted to make big things happen, before the fall season.
  11. Thank you for agreeing. I would rather see (SKull Mountain) go before Ship Wreck Falls. Skull Mountain has had so much down time in the past and the amount of land it sits on could be used for a good coaster or indoor ride. Someone else mentioned taking an indoor version of Skully Mountain, like they have at Great Adventure. I would so love that if they were to get rid of our water ride Skull Mountain. It could still be given a pirate theme with a bit of a story. Lots of ideas for special effects and possible additions for Fright Fest. Think of an upgraded version of Great Adventure's Skull Mountain at SFA. A story line, special effects, and then taking a decent coaster course inside complete darkness with some strobe lights. It would be a great addition for the park. Both family and thrill seekers could enjoy it.
  12. I agree. If you remove Ship Wreck Falls, then whats one less water ride that we have and yet more complaining people will be doing. Leave Ship Wreck Falls, right where it is and just use Two-Face old spot for a small addition. Tones of land in Gotham City for coaster installations and possibly more room if they ever expand past Mind Eraser, which I think is way over do. The park should run in a complete loop so that you don't hit dead ends at every spot.
  13. How is adding a familly addition one year and then a normal coaster the next year, high priced. I never said they had to build in INTIMADTOR 305. All I said was follow up the family addition with a coaster installation. It could be a family coaster for all I care. But don't go 10 YEARS and not add atleast one big crowd pleaser, but keep on investing money into an already spoiled park by juicing up their big rides. Do you kind of understand what I am trying to say? You can't say don't invest any money in coasters but go and invest in X2, Medusa, and an already good Superman, and not even do it for any of the other parks. Not to mention, hire a bunch of people at SFKK and then turn around and say we want out, and then try and take the rides with you on the way home. I can't believe the judge let them get away with that.
  14. But lets not forget that Dan Snyder treating it exactly like a business, never really opened up room for growth of the company. Which is one of the reasons he is gone. You see, if you treat everything like a business, then you drop all creativity and imagination. Be the CEO for five years and go on tv and tell all your stock holders that I'm only here to run it as a business and nothing more. See how fast they will drop you as CEO or sell their stocks to the next guy willing to take over. Again, business men like Snyder drained the resources of the company and left little room for growth. Not to mention it was proven that the previous management with SHAPIRO and SNYDER did nothing for the common stock holders. Again, I will say that Six Flags Entertainment has a prize sitting right infront of them with Alexander Weber being a CEO. Look at how much experience he has in theme parks. I think the board should make him a permanent CEO. Many great things should come from him. Look at all the former Paramounts locations and compare them to Six Flags parks, but not including the big parks that the company has spoiled over the years. I think the former Paramounts locations would win.
  15. I was just trying to say that a more balanced scale is better for the company. Under both former managements of Six Flags Inc, Great Adventure and Magic Mountain were always given the most because they were close to richer city's. Great Adventure being close to New York and Magic Mountain being in Valencia. Paramounts on the other hand still gave a good bit to Kings Island so that it could grow and give the people who live near there a reason to support it. Just picture if they took the Six Flags method and said "Well, Kings Dominion is real close to Washington DC, so lets give them more and just see how Kings Island does". But with great time and investment, the park became a great place. The same can be done for a lot of the smaller parks if they are given the chance for for better family and thrill installations. If Alexander Weber becomes the permanent CEO, which I think he will, I think my home park will start doing a lot better. Possibly performing at the same level as it's competition, Kings Dominion, if given the right installations and improvements. I actually wouldn't mind replacing the current park management and getting former Paramounts park management to run SFA.
  16. True. That situation was very bad, and I felt bad for the people there who got hired and then the company decides to sell and remove the rides. But what other parks do you suggest selling? Most of the ones they have left are money making parks. They pretty much sold off the slackers back in 2006. Not unless he sells the ones that are just water parks. But why do that when he has many years of experience in water park management? Now one thing that has been floating my boat is the Nigeria park. I know Dubai was just paying to use your name. I'm not sure about the park that was suppose to be in Nigeria. If we were going to build a park there, I would rather him cancell it and continue to improve the parks that are here in the United States.
  17. As KDCOASTERFAN mentioned, the spoiled parks continued to get spoiled and the neglected parks followed the same course. He is correct. Hopefully it wont be that way with Alexander Weber. Paramounts never treated their parks like that. Kings Island and Kings Dominion are both equal to each other. They didn't favor Kings Dominion more because they were the closest to a much richer city, which would be Washington DC. They gave both parks, pretty much the equivalent to each other and looked how it turned out. He needs to bring that same feel to the Six Flags parks. I wonder if Alexander Weber will sell a few more parks? Or will he downsize them and expand them as water parks?
  18. I think Alexander Weber will start making improvements on what is already there. Fixing these rides that people complain are a bit too rough or not fast enough. Let me reword that, cause I doubt he is going to fix them himself. He probably will replace some of the park GM's for the parks that are struggling the most or he may do it based on the ones he think can benefit from people he knows from Paramounts. Once that happens, current rides will start improving in performance. People will know it for sure, when they go and the rides can go through a whole day with maybe just 1 delay.
  19. I would be happy for any CEO that would give all the parks a more balanced installations. Look at what they are doing at Kings Dominion. They gave them a brand new coaster and at the same time gave them a brand new themed area for families. I would love something like Planet Snoopy here at the Six Flags parks, but we ended up getting Wiggles World and Thomas Land. But when you look at it, it's very balanced the way they did it. If they install a thrill ride, why not install a family area the same year. The same thing could be done here at the Six Flags parks.
  20. If they let Alexander Weber stay, I think we will learn to like him more. Again, he has many years of experience in water parks and theme parks. Just imagine the great things he can accomplish for all the parks if he stays as CEO. Who knows what the water parks and themed attractions will become if once he really gets started. Who knows what he can do with the DC Comic theme. To tell you the truth it would be cool for him to really take the Batman and Superman themed to the next level. If not that, start introducing a lot of SUPERMAN's enemies and turning them into rides.
  21. I agree. I spoke to this dude that lived near New Jersey, and he was visiting Kings Dominion. Before the park opened I mentioned the Dark Knight indoor coaster to my friend and the dude said "Ohhhh please, that ride was a piece of crap". And yes, Skull Mountain at Great Adventure was cool. You can barely see anything in that building. It would be nice to build the same kind of coaster at SFA, but with a story. Better yet, I would rather (Premier Rides), design an all indoor version of that ride with a few LIM checkpoints. And yes Hercules, I like to put things inside dark buildings. I like fast rides inside of the dark. Thats why I'm such a Flight of Fear, Mummy, and haunted house fanatic. There's nothing I love more than scary things in the dark.
  22. Funny for you to say that. Why is it a party when I show up in a thread?
  23. I would like to see a good indoor attraction built.
  24. Thanks for agreeing with me. But hey, I mentioned in another bankruptcy thread that I was beating a dead horse talking about the same thing. I'm going to give it a rest until this evening. That way it will give me time to think of new ideas.
  25. Yea, your right. I guess I'm just a fan boy for Premier launch rides. But anything at this point and time is good. Again, with Alexander Weber, I expect more unique things to be built inside of Six Flags parks. Hopefully it gets to the level where you say "Hmmm, I would really like to go there and ride their new Intamin or family fun racing coaster". By the way, I feel like I'm beating dead horse, when I comment about the same thing. I'm going to give this thread a rest until this evening. Hopefully it will give me more time to think of possible ideas that Alexander Weber will consider doing.
