  1. Great report, Bert...glad that you had a great time (minus the bruises and soreness). WW looks awesome!!!
  2. Thanks for the review, Andrew...tomorrow's the big day. So glad that you got some night rides in! I already mentioned to Michael that we'll skip breakfast and have cinnamon rolls at SDC early for breakfast and 'que for lunch. Can't wait! PS - If what's being said about Outlaw Run is true, are there rows that are "smoother" than others?
  3. Looking good for hitting up the park tomorrow..looking forward to hitting up a new park that we've never visited before! We'll make sure to take pics and post a report later!
  4. Well that was an interesting read. Glad to hear no major injuries and that the park is busting ass to get everything back to "normal". Couldn't imagine being one of the employees in guest relations today. I toast my drink in their honor!
  5. I knew to stay far, far away on opening weekend and I am even a little leery about going next weekend because the weather in May around the Great Lakes is so iffy (and op's/rides might still be hit or miss). But despite that, we are going to plan on spending two days/nights at the park next Friday & Saturday - weather/op's be damned. If we miss out and the rides are closed, it's still better than work...we'll just hang out at TGIFriday's and get buzzed instead!
  6. ^ Do whatever it takes to try and get a night ride on Beast in the front seat. You are on here enough to probably already know that, but it's worth mentioning again just because of its epic-ness.
  7. ^ I recall that too...especially on the night rides. We were absolutely hauling ass through the woods and tunnels. I was sure that we were all going to die.
  8. I am torn if I want to pre-order FL+ for the following weekend (the 11th and 12th) or wait. The weather forecast is looking like rain possibly on Friday and Saturday so I think I should hold out. But if that changes in the next week to sunny or even partly cloudy, I may very well reserve it online because I know that the line for SV is likely going to stretch all the way through the entire Frontier Trail. That alone will be worth the $$$ and this could very well turn into a quick sellout of FL+ because most people will be thinking the same thing.
  9. Happy belated birthdays to Bert and Bill and congrats to you Andy on your promotion! Michael surprised me and bought me tickets to see Bruce Hornsby at Artpark and tickets to see Beck at the Albright Knox art museum in Buffalo this summer...isn't he awesome?
  10. Thanks for the responses folks...most appreciated! Oh yeah, that is definitely a given as I have seen the hills from several trip reports - looks like Dollywood 2.0! We are also planning on getting one at CP the following weekend just because of how huge the park is. We will have Michael's wheelchair if we need it, but will only use it when we really feel the need to. We'll just need to take the shuttle from the Breakers to the front of the park to get it as it didn't look like there were any options at the back of the park at the Soak City entrance. It will be all about racing to get his wheelchair and then immediately to get a FL+!!
  11. Getting totally stoked for our visit two weekends from now and am hoping like hell that the weather cooperates! Given that I was originally hoping for a stop at either Kentucky Kingdom or SFStL on the way out of Branson and they are both closed on Thursday and Friday, we are now planning on possibly visiting SFStL this Sunday and then plan on arriving at CP the following Friday. With any luck, lines will be minimal and I'll be able to hit up most of the major coasters/rides multiple times. I did find it a bit strange that CP is open on Friday, but these two parks further south and west are not? But then again, if the weather is shit, I might understand this logic better. If the weather is decent, Saturday will be FL+ for sure, so if the line is crazy for Steel Vengeance on Friday night, I may wait until Saturday despite the fact that it will probably kill me waiting another day to ride it. But hey, if lines are nonexistent for Valravn, MF, Skyhawk, Maxair, Maverick, Magnum, Gatekeeper, etc on Friday night...I will just power ride the crap out of those instead.
  12. Looking to possibly hit up the park on Sunday after a stop at the Arch and a boat tour on the river. Michael won't be able to go up into the arch unfortunately as walking up 96 steps would be a bit too much for him. Even though the park is only open until 7:00, I assume that I could still hit up all of the major coasters and rides in a few hours? I was figuring that perhaps we might arrive at the park around 2-3:00 and plan to stay until park close (around 4 hours). Given that it's a Sunday in early May, I assume that crowds might be fairly light? How about terrain? We are bringing Michael's wheelchair and I have no problem pushing him around, but if it's anything like Dollywood, BGW or SFMM, then perhaps we might splurge and rent the electric ones. I don't want to wear myself out completely before we get to SDC! So far the weather is looking pretty decent at partly cloudy and 79!
  13. Bummer - I was hoping to possibly hit up this park on Thursday or Friday of next week, but see that it's not open. Oh well, maybe some other time!
  14. ^ If you are a fan of flat rides, this is the place for you. But if you are looking for a great coaster selection after the 1/2 punch of Behemoth and Leviathan, you might be slightly disappointed (unless you wait until next season). But if you are already going to CP and plan on hitting up Waldameer and Niagara Falls, I would say that it would be worth a day trip to CW.
  15. ^ As do I! Nice report on a very out of the way park. Looks like they could use a few more coasters, but their flat ride selection looks pretty top notch.
  16. An Intamin, RMC or Mack launcher that utilizes the ravine all sounds A-OK in my book. Going to be watching this one closely.
  17. Thanks to all for taking the time to do this...now I am excited to get out and try more of the highly ranked RMC coasters like Outlaw Run in a couple of weeks!
  18. +1 This literally sums up my reaction to these things. I gave them a try. Thought I was going to die from either a panic attack or a heart attack. There is NO way I could ever make it on one of these "mega" star-flyers. Nope. Nope. Nope! I think that perhaps if there was more to support you and there were OTSR's, I "might" feel more comfortable and not as susceptible to falling out. I did the two Star Flyers and have ridden three different Windseekers. While the views are great, I would much rather get the same views from the top of a coaster, drop tower or ferris wheel. Sounds strange, but I feel way more secure in those. My biggest fear would be getting stuck at the top of one of these things 3-400 up - I would literally freak the f%ck out!
  19. ^ Awesome - have fun and make sure to take photos and post a report!
  20. I fully support this behavior and expect a full report of your visit to both parks! I am so weak, aren't I? A couple of awesome POV's and I cave like a house of cards and book a room! A request for a TR? It shall be done!!!
  21. It's a beautiful and graceful looking ride, but these things scare the living shit out of me. Tried two of them that were both under 200' and almost had a panic attack on both of them. No thanks.
  22. Thanks to Robb, RMC and CP for the coverage - this has been such an incredible journey watching this beast get built. So much hype, teasers and anticipation...it seems surreal that it's almost opening day! We are now seriously thinking about hitting this park on our way back from Branson in a couple of weeks. If the weather is halfway decent that weekend, we will be popping in and I'll be grabbing a FL+ for the day in hopes of getting a few rides! Edit: I couldn't stand it...I just booked a room at the Breakers for May 12th - just hoping for NO RAIN (or snow)!!!!
  23. ^^ Yeahhhh...I get that it's just a crappy photo-shopped job of another Eurofighter. The part that the coaster isn't completely built and hasn't ran a train yet kind of clued me in on that. Still....Cheetos train for the win!
  24. Just got this in the mail today... Here the front of the train looks pretty much orange, but if you zoom in, it has a honeycomb pattern to it. I still prefer the Cheetos train myself. Cover Map Love how they scheduled the "Heaven & Hell" tour with the Kingdom Bound Christian fest one week followed up with Slayer the next. LOL!
  25. ^^ Or cheese pizza...and Cheetos and cheese pizza are never bad things!
