  1. ^ YOu should have gone into chat!!!
  2. Sorry about that, but the thread was honestly a total mess and it needed a bit of "pruning." To be honest, it was like cutting a head off the hydra where as soon as I deleted all those posts and cleaned it up, those exact same posts all just grew right back! Seriously though, I know it's a bit annoying now, but in a few months when you're searching the forum for information or whatever, you'll be happy it's all in one place. --Robb "There is a reason why we do some things, I swear!" 8. Are you kidding me? Dude, please, do not read ANYTHING ELSE on Theme Park Review until you read this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31454 Seriously, go read that thread RIGHT NOW. Follow what it says and your ass won't end up in the BanTron. --Robb "The best advice I can possibly give you." Alvey
  9. Why would you think this? This wasn't the case on either Behemoth or Diamonback so what makes you think that out of the blue Cedar Fair is going to brake happy with this one? --Robb
  10. Heh, some of TPR's photos were used in that article! --Robb
  11. Ok, that was a seriously awesome update! Everyone go back one page and read this NOW!!!
  12. Seriously? Since when? Last I checked there an awful lot of coasters in the US that are what I would call "extremely forceful" and contain lots of extreme airtime. LMAO @ the guy who thinks Dave doesn't know what he's talking about!
  13. ^ I thought it was a valid comment.
  14. How? This has got everything Goliath doesn't. I wouldn't even bother responding to such a well thought out, intelligent post. Anyway, I've added the POV and Offride rendering videos to the announcement post in case you haven't seen them already: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=799445#799445 --Robb

The trains will also be fashioned to mirror Dale Earnhardt’s 1998 RCR No. 3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. About the Designer: Bolliger & Mabillard (more commonly known as B&M) is a roller coaster design consultancy based in Monthey, Switzerland. The company was founded in 1988 by Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard, with Bolliger acting as president and Mabillard as vice president. The company started with four employees and has since grown to more than 30 people, comprised primarily of engineers and draftsmen. Since 1990, B&M has designed a number of ground-breaking and critically acclaimed roller coasters. In fact, B&M feature 20 of the top 50 roller coasters on the Amusement Today Golden Ticket Awards Top 50 Steel Coasters List for 2007, four of which are listed in the top 10. They have more coasters on the list than any other ride manufacturer. B&M roller coasters are renowned for their smooth ride, comfortable seats and restraints, reliability, low maintenance, impeccable safety record and ride capacity. B&M is the same firm that brought Afterburn to Carowinds in 1999 and Vortex in 1992 Keep up to date with the Intimidator Construction Blog: http://www.intimidator.carowinds.com/public/latest/blog/index.cfm Want some Intimidator wallpapers for your desktop? 16. Hey everyone! Yours truly was invited to take part in another podcast during our Bay Area Bash event earlier this month at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom! We got to chat with the "Park Ambassador" Captain Lee, hang out with Doug and friends, and just have a great time chatting theme parks and roller coaster. Check out the podcast here - http://seasonpasspodcast.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=514741 Click on the "Pod" link to download or subscribe via iTunes! Enjoy! --Robb Alvey www.themeparkreview.com
  17. ^ You are very welcome! --Robb
  18. It wasn't over read, I did look at the terrain coaster and IMO it was kind of "meh", the story about the kid and the wood coaster is much more interesting, IMO. I honestly never saw this thread before! I really like it sometimes when an old thread gets bumped (even if it's years old) because there is some great stuff on this forum that never gets seen for one reason or another. This is also why we really encourage people to use the search function. Some great stuff gets unearthed sometimes! Sorry if I sounded huffy, didn't mean to come off that way. To each their own. I can't really count a coaster that the public cannot ride because then at that point you can pretty much call anything you can ride rolling down a hill a backyard coaster and count that as a "credit." If it's in a park, or a fair, or even a private location that IS open to the general public at least one day a year (like Stricker's Grove) then I'd count it. It's just my opinion. People can count whatever they want. I've seen people count free fall towers, log flumes, and yes, even self powered cycle rides. I at least know when someone asks me what my "coaster count" is, it's a REAL count with REAL coasters, not anything silly or wacky. --Robb "I didn't even count those pseudo-coasters at Amazing World." Alvey
  19. I wouldn't count a "backyard coaster" as a credit to begin with. If it's not possible for the "public" to ride it, I don't count it. If that was the case, I'd go build a ramp down the the back of our apartment complex and ride a modified skateboard on it and call it a coaster! Although if I did that then Jeff Johnson would build like a THOUSAND of them, but we don't want to open up that can of worms, do we? Seriously though, I think the whole backyard coaster thing is "neat", but I wouldn't count it as an official "credit." --Robb
  20. Who's this Rob guy you're speaking to? So what you're saying is that every report I've seen post the July 4th crowd is lying about the lack of people in the park? And even if all those reports are lying and people are visiting the park, I stand by my previous comment of "I'll really only be impressed when they can bring in crowds and still be charging closer to a full-price admission." --Robb
  21. Hmmm...we don't offer a download version of Coaster Expedition Volume 3 so that might be the problem right there! None of the downloads are compressed, zipped, or anything. They should download as a .mp4 file. Not exactly sure what problem you are having or how exactly to fix it. I just tested one of our downloads right now and it downloaded as a .mp4 file directly to my hard drive. --Robb
