  1. Sooooooo..... all those pages and pages and pages and pages of bitching and complaining about this ride was all for nothing?!??! I'll be the first one to say it... I TOLD YOU SO!!! I personally think these funky Premier coasters are a GREAT addition to any park!
  2. Here is another one of my all-time favorites! The Bullet at Selva Magica! I first rode this coaster at Flamingoland in the late 90s and still totally KICKSASS today, even though it's over 30 years old! Don't forget to watch it in 1080p60!
  3. I am currently using Adobe Premier Creative Cloud 2014.
  4. ^ Do you know if attendance is still good at the park? Maybe it's just because that the park does well enough with it's current compliment of attractions that they don't need to add anything that frequently. I know plenty of water parks that do just fine and only add a new attraction every five years or so. Look at Adventure Island at Busch Gardens Tampa, for example, they got a new slide this year, but I think the last time they got something was close to 5 or 6 years ago, and that park does great business!
  5. Thanks to TPR Member K1ngdaKa88 for shooting what is one of the WEIRDEST looking shuttle loop coasters ever! What do you guys think of this?
  6. The website has been updated and selfie sticks are no longer listed? https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/plan-your-visit/park-policies
  7. Wow. How incredibly mature. If your goal was to look as stupid as the person who was using the selfie stick, you succeeded.
  8. It's VERY different from the picture you posted. That picture only talks about no photography on rides. The policy talks about photography at the park in general, and points out very specific types of cameras that I have never seen ANY other park call out. I have never seen a park's photography policy call out "No interchangeable lenses" "No Zoom or telephoto" or give specific dimensions for lenses. My little point & shoot Sony camera that I have taken to pretty much every park in the world would no longer be allowed into a Six Flags park according to that policy. That's just crazy.
  9. ^ Those rules do seem absolutely absurd. Technically, they are also not allowing a little point and shoot that has a zoom lens on it! I mean, my point & shoot camera isn't much larger in length and width than a credit card, but it has a zoom lens, so is it also not allowed?
  10. ^ Wow, that's very interesting! I still don't understand the GoPro ban. I will fully say that using a GoPro with a chest mount is safer that even having items in your pocket on a ride.
  11. I'm at the point where I feel like I can barely even read our own forum due to the dumbass comments that keep being posted. I think it would be better to have fewer people on our forum that can make better posts. Quality > Quantity
  12. It would be so nice if we could have just *ONE* day on our forum without someone making an insanely stupid comment. Is that really too much to ask???
  13. And congrats! You are the WINNER of the most annoying contest! People complaining about people complaining about selfie sticks!!! --Robb "Can we please...PLEASE try to lessen the amount of totally stupid posts on our forum? PLEASE?!?!?" Alvey
  14. Agreed, but remember, my whole beef with them originally wasn't that people were using them, but that people were using them AND they were impacting others around them. I personally couldn't care what someone does at a park as long as it doesn't affect me. but when I'm trying to watch a show and I see this: that's when I get annoyed! lol Kudos to Disney for trying to find a "balance" for their guests so that these items can be used without annoying others.
  15. I probably spend 20+ hours a week, every week at the parks around here in Orlando. In all my thousands of hours of being at parks, I've maybe have encountered once or twice someone not paying attention while on their phones. So either you're completely exaggerating this to justify your position, or you just have really bad luck walking around parks. If I was to choose to complain about anything impacting mobility around parks, it would be the awful people on the ECV's or the idiot parents with the strollers that feel they are entitled to be as rude and pushy as they want because they "have a child." But people walking around looking at their phones??? Sorry, this isn't an issue.
  16. FYI - WDWNT is a horrible site that is sensationalizing this to gain attention. (congrats to them, I guess, it worked, right? Even if it makes them look stupid.) Here is the REAL story for anyone that cares: Selfie Sticks themselves are NOT banned from Walt Disney World (as WDWNT incorrectly reported) but they now fall under the same policy as canes, umbrellas, and tri-pods and have to be "securely stowed" while on an attraction. Since you are still allowed to take photos & video on rides at WDW, that means you can use your selfie stick as long as it's not extended, and it doesn't go any further out than a normal camera would. In short, as long as it's "securely stowed." We were sent the policy that was delivered to cast members, and it reads: In short, selfie sticks are NOT BANNED from Walt Disney World, but the parks are enforcing their already existing personal belongings policy. I would encourage you to share this story, instead of poorly sensationalized garbage from sites like WDWNT. Thank you. --Robb
  17. If this whole thread could be summed up in two sentences these two statements would do it. Great post. I actually think that spending time on your phone at parks and the use of selfie sticks have absolutely nothing to do with each other. I spend a lot of money to get into parks, and I also spend a considerable amount of time on my phone while I'm there. But here is the huge difference between what I do and what people using selfie-sticks are doing... I AM NOT IMPACTING ANYONE ELSE DURING MY VISIT! The selfie sticks are an issue because they block people's views while at shows, they create a danger or at least an annoyance while on rides. (I've been on a few rides now where I'm trying to record something like a normal person only to have the audio ruined by the staff having to come over the PA system and ask someone to put their selfie stick away. Thanks moron!) I personally think it's totally unfair to pass a judgement on what someone should or shouldn't be doing at a park. It's none of your business. I've seen people pay to get into a park just to sit and watch people all day. Would I do that? No. But I'm certainly not going to judge them for it. As long as they aren't bothering me or what I want to get out of my day, why should I care? And why should you? Sorry, but I guess you can say I completely disagree with those two sentences.
  18. ^ Keep in mind, though, it's not a "Lightning Run", it's one of Chance's Family coasters like this:
  19. ^ No, it wasn't really you. It was all the other people I had to delete. Those posts were much, much worse!
  20. ^ Along with a new kids area and a family coaster!
  21. I really liked the little rides section at the Indianapolis Zoo and it gives families something else to do at the park and could expand the time they spend there. I love seeing parks like this create new areas and expansions to include rides.
  22. ^^ Oh, I have very little respect for most other people's opinions, I'm not suggesting people MUST respect what other people say, I'm just saying that there is no need to start dumbass petty arguments over them when there are so many other more interesting things we could be posting about. I've seen some INSANELY STUPID CRAP posted in this thread that I just can't even believe people would say, but I've kept my mouth shut for the most part, or deleted my comments when I realized it was just adding to the pointless drama. I hope others people follow that example. Case in point - I just posted some construction photos of a new family coaster in Arizona. Sure, it's not 325 feet tall, but for a state that only has a handful of coasters as it is going into a park that expanding to include this type of ride for the first time, I think that's by FAR more interesting discussion that going back and forth over whether or not someone has the right or wrong opinion of Fury 325. But I don't see many people commenting on that thread. Why not? Perhaps a change of perspective is needed?
  23. ^ Yes, exactly. Smaller family ride, but should be a big addition for this park.
  24. I am just so sick of the petty arguments in this thread. It's gotten out of control. People quoting each other, taking comments out of context, trying to prove each other wrong... over what? IT'S A ROLLER COASTER PEOPLE!!! FOR F**K SAKE - SOME PEOPLE ARE GOING TO LIKE IT, SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING TO LIKE IT AS MUCH! Deal with it. Nobody is going to get more or less blow jobs based on how much you like or don't like a ride. I'm going to start banning the overly obnoxious posters because I just cannot stand the sheer amount of stupidity being shown in this thread. We are better than this. Please start acting like it. Thank you. --Robb
  25. To suggest that everyone who ranks this in their top 10 is doing it because they're Carowinds fanboys is unfair. I'm not a Carowinds local, before last weekend I had only been there once in my life and while I haven't ridden nearly as many coasters as some people here I've ridden about 250 and I rank this at #5, ahead of Bizarro, Kumba (barely), I305, Boulder Dash and a lot of other coasters that usually get ranked much higher. Some people like different things. So someone that sets overly high expectations for the ride and then ranks the ride highly is a fanboy, but someone who declares that the ride will not be in an accurate top 10 ranking without ever riding it (like you're doing) has more credibility? At least those people have ridden the ride. It doesn't really matter to me what anyone else thinks of this coaster, I know I love it (and I had low expectations going in) but it doesn't make sense to declare where it does and doesn't belong in a top 10 list without ever riding it. THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! I honestly do not understand the mentality shared by so many people that "if new coaster is not automatically your OMFG #1 blow me away ride, it means you HATE it and want it burned to the ground." I get this so often and it's so insanely stupid and annoying. There are a TON of coasters that I *like* and would go out of my way to travel for that do not appear on my top ten list. Hell, Tokyo Disney, Europa Park, and Grona Lund are some of my favorite parks in the world that I would spend thousands of dollars to travel to, and not a single one of their coasters appear in my "top ten" list. But to some coaster nerds, if you're not violently ejaculating milk cartons over the newest coaster, you're the most evil, vile person on the planet. And this sort of thinking really needs to stop. It's a cancer that infects this hobby. FFS people, just enjoy the rides for what they are regardless where they fall in yours or someone else's ranking list. I can't say this enough and I know for some people it will never sink in.
