  1. The reviews have ranged from it being a fun ride to an amazing ride. All positive. There needs to be no drama here. Go out to Carowinds and enjoy the new ride. Just because not all of the reviews are giving the ride an A+++, doesn't mean the ride is a disappointment.
  2. I never thought "B&M" and "excellent airtime" could be said together! Really glad to hear a review like this and cannot wait to ride this someday. Looks like Carowinds scored big time. I really enjoyed the airtime. It is definitely floater airtime, but it much more sustained and forceful than the other B&M hypers I have ridden.
  3. And where did anyone say the ride lacked speed??? I certainly didn't.
  4. We rode in three rows...2nd from front, last row and 2nd to last row. I preferred the 2nd to last. The last was a big on the shaky side, otherwise it would of been the best seat.
  5. Okay, we are making a dinner stop so I have a few minutes to post my thoughts on the ride and the media day. This was my first time to the park, so I had no previous reference of what the park skyline looked like before, but I have to say with Fury 325, the park looks stunning from all over the area! As soon as you get on I-77 from the loop, Fury 325 is already visible. Once again, since this was my first visit, I never saw the original entrance, but I was very impressed with the new entrance. Carowinds definitely achieved making a marquee entrance that will thrill and excite guests for years to come. Now onto the new ride. I thought it was a lot of fun. The first drop will take your breath away and the speed up the 2nd hill is wonderful. At this point as you soar over the entrance plaza and out to the turnaround, the ride seems to go through the emotions a bit. It is still fast of course and there are some forces to be had, but the main purpose of this section of the ride, in my opinion, is to look nice and pretty for the front of the park. Now with that said, as soon as you drop out of the turnaround and down into the tunnel, the ride picks right back up! The drop into the tunnel takes your breath away and the first airtime hill has strong floater airtime. The ride hauls to the brake run and really seems to utilize the speed it has built up well for the finale. Could the ride have done more with the height of the lift hill? Sure. As an enthusiast, I am a little jaded when it comes to what I expect in an extreme coaster. With that said, the ride is absolutely re-rideable and the General public is going to eat of up! Carowinds accomplished what it intended in building a marquee attraction that not only looks wonderful but is a lot of fun! Now, for the media day itself. The park looked great and everywhere you turned you saw excited employees and special entertainment from the event. The opening presentation was well done. It was the perfect length and entertaining. After the presentation everyone lined up for that ride. Here is where my only real complaint about the day occurred. The park set up a separate line for media who wanted to get custom rider POV. The park had set up the 2nd row of two ofthe trains with a Go Pro, and The major problem here was that half of the people in line didn't know they were only waiting for one row. So not only did it take an hour plus to get to ride, but as we got go to the top we witnessed constant confusion by the media and the employees that were sorting the whole thing. The whole deal would of worked better at a separate time than the grand opening event. There was just too many people to try and satisfy all the media that wanted the Go Pro footage. Enough about that and back to the positives...the park was kind enough to open Intimidator and the new, Slingshot for the event. This was much appreciated! And now, the food. The park showcased a lot of the new cuisine coming in 2015 and it did not disappoint. There was shrimp, oysters, duck meat, gelato, and a TON more. The food more than made up for the long wait for the rider footage. To conclude, the park looks great, Fury is a great ride, and you should definitely check it out!
  6. Ellen is excited about Fury 325! New entrance plaza.
  7. ^Give it a couple of hours and we can find out!
  8. From the 9th floor of the Clarion Inn across the road. Can hardly tell where one B&M begins and the other one ends!
  9. ^It is. Probably park employees/VIPs.
  10. I hit a wall on it early on, but fought through it and I love the game. It's one of those games where the more you explore and fight the zombies, the stronger your character gets. Now, I have a machete that will slice through three of them at once! Quite a step up from swinging a plank and having it break on their head.
  11. I have noticed something strange when smashing the pinatas. If I have more than 2 blindfolds, and I try to smash the pinatas all at once, it will only give me candy on the first two. I actually had five one time, and only the first 2 dropped. Seems the only way I can get the candy to drop again is to wait an hour or so, and it is always only two at a time. Just curious if anyone else has had this happen.
  12. Still working on my first with about 2 to go, but I have been busy with work stuff so I haven't been on top of it. It seems they drop about 1/3 of the time for me.
  13. You will not be disappointed with Last Of Us. One of the best games I have ever played! I have been playing Dying Light and loving it (most of the time). It's like a cross between Fallout 3 and Assassin's Creed set to a zombie apocalypse theme. Soooo many zombies.
  14. Oh, that's right the dogs. I tapped those things for days and then they just disappeared.
  15. ^^Perfect way to sum that thread up!
  16. Fluctuating a little bit here, currently at $2.09.
  17. Exactly. Might be time for a Pennsylvania trip in the near future!
  18. Any rumors/facts on what is next? Will we finally get to continue the blimp storyline???
  19. Avenged Sevenfold - A Little Piece of Heaven
  20. I assume it is a 4 hour task? One you unlock it, it only took me a day and a half to do all of the tasks. Not sure why they would give you the option, if they didn't change their minds and let every one have access to the character. Go for it!
  21. ^I definitely appreciated that they were trying to go for something other than mindless tapping, but to me it got old. It would sometimes take up to 10 seconds for the couple to show rather they loved or hated each other and they would also stop behind the buildings and you couldn't see the exchange at all.
  22. I'm loving the change they made to the PDA couples' shirts! I was always pushing the time limit before, now it is only taking me 30 seconds.
  23. I need five handbags for Ida. The annoying thing is without using clams, Jerome and Herbert are the only two characters that drop them and Herbert's task is mixed in with the bottles for the factory. Of course, it has been the bottles that have dropped the last three times! Grrr.
  24. ^Looks like it is on the eastern edge of the property next to the skycoaster.
  25. ^That's exactly what I need. The PDA couples can be tedious. Seems like they can take forever to stop and show what side they are. So far I have concentrated on getting the "Love" prizes.
