Efteling Discussion Thread

So today i decided to drive to Efteling to get some pictures from the new GCI woodie being built there. These pictures are in the order that they were taken and are from (i think) all possible legal angles. Don't expect many comments from me, just wanted to give everybody an update on the progress of this built. Hope you like them. yeah,, the skyline in the park has changed. I was planning on using the pagode to present an overview from above.. but it was down for maintenance.. somethings new in this picture... yes.. that does looks a little different compared to my previous visits.. new from july 1st car from de vliegende hollander.. still a lot of fog inside and not much too see.. stupid sun... looking into the direction of Python looking into the other direction.. duhh track crossing and some theming... looks like the top part for the chainlift.. small theming stuff small tree left on a small island.. sorry, just had to ad this one.. the fog machine was working.. keeping an eye on what's happening.. track twisty?? hmm working tools can you spot the way both tracks are going? i see stairs... future photot ops.. depending on which way the train will be moving at that point.. yeah.. this view is different now that Pegasus is gone.. i like how this looks double lifthill what's that box doing there? looks like track metal racing.. plenty of wood would this be an airtime hill? zooming in.. looking forward to seeing trains here.. yeah.. this is just a "little" bigger then pegasus time to check out the other end of the ride.. this is near the rapids entrance water pumps "dreaming" of that one picture with three trains in it.. future photo ops should look interesting once they increase the water level again.. beautifull structure.. looks like a lot of nails how to use the tools at hand.. hmm, more construction stuff outside the park.. might as well check that out later.. just had to add this image looks like a lot of luggage.. time to take the train to see if there's more to be seen of this new coaster at least i got to see this angle.. looks like there's still plenty of work to be done on this side.. bottom part of one of the cranes.. another crane pretty close to the structure.. and how it looks on the park map.. next post will contain images from the outside area -
When i was younger my parents used to take me to a park nearby. My last visit must have been something like 20 years ago (as in i can't remember when that was) The parks is a real family park, as in it's aiming for families with small children. Most of the attractions are for those children. Anyway, since i did not have much to do last week i decided to check out the place once more to see what had changed and maybe even score a new credit. Link to their website (in dutch) http://www.julianatoren.nl The place is smaller then i remembered and there are way more attractions packed in this small area compared to my memories. Here's a bunch of my pictures to give you an idea of the place. the entrance area of the park as seen from the parking area yes, that's the place one of the many displays of the parks mascotte the kids just loved it, by the looks of things jul's stones looks like we've found Jeff's long lost cousin.. photo op before entering the haunted house.. let's check out the rest of the park i know somebody will be very happy with this image... new credit (for me) a ride for the family.. i did remember some other sort of ride which used to be there.. smaller and red.. anyway.. time to move on.. "convertible land" food place theming sort of overview of the park, only thing behind me were the bird show and the picknick area caroussel not sure if any parent would fit in this.. let's jump rollercoastertrain those look familiar.. and they have more then one of those?? awesome not sure what's more disturbing.. the look on gadgets face or the thing batman is holding.. vlinder aka butterfly hairtime jumping water thingy underneath the coaster area to sit down and enjoy the food you ordered.. jul's tollende muis and a bunch if slides, underneath these slides there was an area with airpressured soft balls shooting etc. firefighter kind of thing looks like fun family coaster random theming there's even a nautic jet and the kids loved it rockin tug ride something not Elissa friendly exercise device since the kids can't reach the pedals and grandpa has to do all the peddaling.. mighty mouse (i remember that cartoon series from my child hood) and the tower.. time to show you all how "big" this place is.. as seen from the tower.. rollercoaster and in the background there's the bird show area. lot's of stuff in a small area.. last but not least.. the park map. Hope you enjoyed it.

After an awesome overnight ferry ride (as in i slept most of the time) it was time for our drive to Power Park. Why? because it was the next stop on the schedule. The long drive was a lot of fun and the park (and evening ERT were sweet as well) being so far up north was very interesting (since the sun did not set). Glad i did the trip and visited this park. I'm not good at telling stories.. and it's been.. anyway.. picture time Day 12: Power Park After this.. TPR Grand Prix and more Power Park fun.. Food stop in the "middle" of nowhere. Must have been a good day for this place.. on the road again.. a happy face hmm, looks like we made it.. first look at the park bunch of inflatable things the infamous spin/swing through a building ride thingy our lovely hotel hmm, nice ride indoor go-kart track. ok, time to check out the park before ERT starts ehmmm wagon.. let's check out the "smaller" rides first credit time having fun? Dino Jeep and a hungry crock but there's more just in case you forgot where we are.. o wait.. there are more credits.. they might look a bit "funny" but they sure know how to organize a trip. join the joyride another Cobra.. and the brakes on this one were interesting.. loop stretching my back.. shooting dark-ride waiting for a hug most people have something similar.. but wait.. what's this? it makes grown men scream.. yup.. more screaming time to check out some random people's reaction to this wooden coaster.. let's start ERT zooming by doesn't it look pretty.. going up... banked turn hands up if you're having a good time next train pass the sword happy faces.. what else do we need? structure first drop hmmm looking back fly fly fly.. record breaking train and passengers in action trying to get the perfect shot.. -
read the manual? don't want to sound harsh.. but yup.. reading might help..

I don't think that there's a simple answer to this question except.... Try things, test things and get to know your camera. A setting for one camera might work for another but most likely it will not and as soon as the weather is different.. you're in trouble anyway since the setting will need to be changed again. Play around, test things and i'm sure you'll have a lot more fun when you get that one magical shot. Have fun

Galloping Goose and don't forget to e-mail Dan !!!! They took us into the roundhouse. Gave us a history lesson. And let us take as many pictures as we could! Oooh Galloping Goose. How I love thee. We even got to walk part of the track where guests were normally not allowed. Tom explained how the Steam engines worked, what daily maintenance needs to be done and what the Galloping Goose is. The Galloping Goose was built during the great depression as a cost effective way to tranport mail. The Galloping Goose...NAKED!!! Wheels. Really big giant wheels. Hi my name is Dan. I'm a train dork and I would like you to email me at mrt0ad13@aol.com and say "hi Dan.". -
