  1. Since this is a roller coaster site, here are some onride photos, as well as one from Mardi Gras! This is from a few weeks ago at Mardi Gras. I'm on the left, and my boyfriend Joey is on the right. This was one of the best times I've ever had on Millennium Force because it was raining. As soon as we went down the first hill, everyone screamed not out of fright, but out of pain! I feel so exposed! Here I'm flashing the camera on the Mamba at Worlds of Not-So-Fun. In case you were wondering what my avatar is a picture of, it is when my friend Rachel and I wore vampire teeth on the Wild Thing at Valleyfair.
  2. Old Spice Red Zone "It absorbs like a lotion!"
  3. Cool, thanks for the info. But what is the percentage of completely successful laser surgery? Is blindness/eye damage a big possibility?
  4. Yeah Elissa, I saw that about the mouse in miami and that's why I wondered how you count those. Oh and as for coaster counting, I would just like to tell everyone something cool that I do. Everytime I ride a new roller coaster, I first add it to my list that I keep in Microsoft Word. Then, I get a picture off of RCDB and put it in a folder. That way when anyone asks what coasters you have ridden, its fun to be able to actually show them. Does anyone else do this?
  5. I am also one of the people who is too scared to try it yet. But I'm only 18, how old should you be before you consider getting it?
  6. You can't beat the first drop or the overbanked turns.
  7. I've always liked that bubbley Aqua sounding pop stuff. Like that Tarzan and Jane song for the TPR Cedar Point video. Can't go wrong with fast peppy music!
  8. How about "Check out my very original member name"
  9. Hey, my name is Joseph Wanek and I am originally from Des Moines, Iowa. I am a freshman in college at Columbia College Chicago. I was a photography major but I don't want to do that anymore. I want to do something related to amusement parks, but other than being a ride operator, I don't know what else I could do. I usually check out Screamscape.com and Coasterbuzz.com, but I like these forums better than Coasterbuzz so I'll be sticking around here instead. I have been coming to Themeparkreview.com for about 2 years now. Robb and Elissa, I'm a big fan!
  10. Trim brakes are those annoying brakes that just kind of "trim" off a little speed. I say they are annoying because usually they slow you down and make something unenjoyable. Such as on Mantis, a trim brake makes the first hill a little slower and thus boring. I don't actually know why trim brakes are there. I'm guessing they slow it down because you would go faster through certain elements that some people couldn't handle or something. Here is a picture of Mean Streak at Cedar Point. This hill would be way better, but there is a nasty little trim brake on it. Its the silver thing in the middle of the track. http://rcdb.com/ig16.htm?picture=2
  11. Now that I go to school in Chicago, I've managed to get in a few kiddie coasters. I'm such a coaster whore that I went to the ghetto south side of Chicago twice (first time it was broken) just to get this credit. Kicks Coaster at The House of Kicks
  12. For some reason I have had pretty smooth rides on Ninja at SFOG and Iron Wolf. With both of them I was expecting a bumpy ride, but I was actually surprised. Especially Iron Wolf, I think it's my favorite standup.
  13. So then do you also count carnival/traveling coasters? I have counted 3 on my list, but how do you know if you've repeated one or not?
  14. So Robb, do you keep the camera rolling almost all the time your at a park, just to catch those spontanious crazy moments? Or do you only turn it on when you know something is going to happen? And how much tape do you usually go through?
  15. Ok, I know this is a never ending debate, and no one can really have a right or wrong answer, but what do you all count as roller coasters. I saw on one of the updates that you guys don't do powered kiddie coasters because that just "crosses the line." Although I think I do recall seeing on Coastercounter.com that Robb counted Lil' Shaver at Camp Snoopy. So what does everyone count as a coaster? I count twins (like Gemini), kiddie coasters (even powered), and everything else that is on RCDB.com.
  16. I go to college in Chicago so Six Flags Great America, but I live in Des Moines, IA so my homepark is really Adventureland. Despite the good reviews it gets from out of town visitors, it gets really old really fast.
