  1. I think it is going to be next year because i went a few weeks ago and barely anything was done but maybe they have a-work-dare-a-little buttoxes off since the. I going again this month and i'll try to take some construction pics along with a Photo TR. Allot has been done since then. Nearly the in tire Concrete pad has Benn redone and set up. the ride is starting to show up in the park. Like I said they feel Early September is the long run right now. so unless something goes wrong they will open it this year.
  2. and Skater To be honest if they skip a ride addition in 2008 you will continue to see Frisbee Advertised at the parks Newest ride.
  3. This season or next season? I might just go out there to make up for stupid SFGAm's frisbee being closed... stupid Revolution. It would be this season. Like I said Parts are already on site. They only have about half the ride or so. But they will advertise it as new next year.
  4. Parts for this ride have started to arrive. I will post pictures shortly. The park is hoping at this point to have the ride open by late August or early September.
  5. Compared to Palace playland and York's it's Disney. but Compared to well every other park in New England it could use some work. It's not terrible But the park itself could use some TLC and a few more rides.
  6. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I've always taken pic but I never would get around to getting my film pics developed and in my computer. So I get a new digital camera this year. it's allowed me to do allot more.
  7. My Google News Sign up just sent me a notice about a news report regarding Funtowns slide additions. wmtw.com news report
  8. The Frisbee The park is getting is a standard Frisbee similar to the one at SFNE and other SFI parks. The park looked into the Giant Model it's main structure would have been within 80 ft. the swing is beyond that but that's not against the height restrictions. Fire safty thing basically if it were to break down the ride simply falls back to the ground. anyways they looked into the XL large model but opted not to do to the price. It's in the 4 million range and it the park is going to spend that it will be on a coaster. So they opted for this one with the new entrance coming, a replacement for the Matterhorn, and depending on this year another ride next year.
  9. Do you know much about the water park down the street? yes it will help them compete but if you were planning on going to a water park were would you go? you have AquaBoggon which is still bigger even with this addition. Then you have funtown. If you live south Water Country Might be closer and is larger then SFNE Hurricane harbor.
  10. At this point I'd settle for a few family flats. anything for the dry park.
  11. True but the more you add to the slide the lower the capacity is going to be. The park has put more into the water park in the last 6 years then they have the dry park. in 2003 they added a water play area, a new entrance, changing rooms, Gift show, and a food stand. So they have added things to rank in on the water park profits. in tern the only thing added to the dry park was real shows. I haven't been to the park in 3 years. This isn't going to get me to come back.
  12. Well they have had an addition to the park in 3 years and that was the water play area. I'm not thrilled with this info they don't have much room and I rather see 2 speed slides then a tornado slide. with no additions to the park in 5 years I just think there waisting there money on a tornado slide. Bulky and I find them no better then the Half pipe slides. Rob - were did you find this?
  13. Thanks for all those great shots of the park. I don't know why this park has such a bad rap. It looks great. With all hope I will get to this park one day. Thanks again.
  14. Thanks for the nice comments. Sorry you didn't get to go. So here is a selection of my Canobie pics. Between way to many pics of my Niece and many park shots I had taken nearly 150 pics. Here's a selection of 40. link to photos
  15. This was a last minute trip so to speak. I had been talking to my parents about it and trying to convince them to go since they hadn’t been in something like 4 years. We finally opted to take advantage of the fathers day deal. The group was my parents, my 2 brothers and my niece. This was my niece’s first trip to Canobie. She’s the and over 36 in. so she was going to be able to ride many rides. Well Sunday came and I remembered shy I normally don’t go to the park with my parents. By the time they opted to get up and get ready and finally leave the house it was noon. So we didn’t get to the park till 1:00 pm. The only thing that made this not drive me completely nuts is that the park is now open to 10:00 at night and we had plenty of time to hit rides. We pulled in and the parking lot was nearly full. It was going to be a busy day for the park. We parked literally against the fence around 800ft from the park entrance gate. So we entered with 1 child ($18.00), 2 adults ($27.00 each), and 2 free admittance fathers. No coupons needed! My younger brother and I had ticket from opening day a sale ($19.00 cost). So we entered and since my dad needed to eat we headed for the Bebop Diner. Fathers got a free lunch voucher. The park was busy. Rides in site hade a one to two circuit wait and the walkways were mildly busy. I ran into one of the owners driving around with the head food manager. I asked him about the new ride and got some bass into. As I got to the dinner I also ran into his Brother. Basically from what I could find out the Paratrooper was soled to Blue Diamond Park in New Castle, Delaware. They got a little les then the $25,000 they were looking for. Also they were going to be sending some one to the Huss manufacturing plant to inspect the ride in mid July. If all is right the ride will be shipped 3rd week of July and in the park hopefully by the second week of August. So if all works out the ride should operate for the last month and a half of the operating year. The ride will be given a 50’s theme to go along with the new look of the area. Our fist plan was to go to Castaway Island. As we approached we noticed that the 2water play area was packed. With it being so busy and my parents to wanting to deal with my niece fighting went we left the attraction we turned around and headed to the Dragon coaster. Since my parents and my niece were a few minutes form getting on the ride I hope over to Turkish twist for my fist ride. The best park is the two younger girls behind me haven’t been on the ride before and neither have the foreign family in from of me. So most of the riders made many comments when the ride got to full speed, and many screams when the floor dropped. I walked back to the dragon coaster and road that my Niece loved it and went on a second time I stayed off to take a few pics. My father went on the Jungle drop (S&S frog hopper) with my Niece before we headed to the Boston Tea Party. Today was a day of meeting people that had never been to the park or haven’t in a long time. I talked to an older couple from Manchester, NH while I waited for the ride. Despite the length of the queue the wait was only about 15-20 minutes. Got complexly soaked! The couple that was in front of me was completely amazed by the stream of water it throws up in front of you. Again my family was backed up for some reason or another so I went ahead to take some more shots and check out Skater in its new location. After taking a few pics I hoped in line. The skater was down opening day do to a broken part. Things seemed to have worked themselves out. Not only was the ride running far better then last year. They were running a longer ride program, spinning the car in both directions. In turn the ride was well worth ridding and finally presented itself as a higher end model from the Rockn’ Tug. I got off and rode over the rainbow with my family. Well minus my brother and Sister in law they had disappeared. From there we hit DaVinci’s Dream. Though my niece was under the height requirement there are 4 sets of seats offering a combined adult child seat, so she road in that. My niece’s a child of my own heart. She’s a little dare devil, and smiled and screamed her way through the ride. We all hit Caterpillar before we split up. So my Brother and I headed for Ye old Canobie Village (western town) while my parents brought my niece to Kiddie land 1. My brother and my plan was to hit the new 3 Hot Tickets show. We got there and realized we were a half hour early so I hoped on Pirate. Great ride but it takes to long to get to height. So you only get 2 or 3 full height swings before it starts slowing down. I was going to hit Timber splash since it was hot but the line was half was down. That means at least an hour wait if not a little longer. So we talked to the basketball shoot operator since my brother new him. 3 Hot Tickets - I wish I could say I was impressed. I wasn’t! They promised “fast-paced mélange of a Chicago speak-easy, a Bourbon Street jazz club and a fine Parisian cafe.” They didn’t deliver. The girls were cute yes and they were reasonably good singers but not fantastic. I found the show a bit slow and I saw a number of people that left before the show was half over. The music selection comprised of songs form a few musicals which I barley new and most people will not know. The best known song was a pore and slow rendition of “Diamonds are a girls best friend.” The best song was also well known. It was an Elvis song and surprisingly it was extremely similar to the harmony mix used on the Elvis show last year. The cast seems friendly though and went out of there way to talk to the audience that stayed. Later in the day they removed the staging that was there and installed a lot of the stage props form last years show. So my Brother and I maid our was back to the Kiddie land section to see about Dinner. We meet up with my parents at eh Kiddie whip. My niece was on her 4th ride and still road one time before we moved on. My father wanted to check out Skater so I rod that with him. This ride will need more Queue set up the small area set up not is no were big enough and they had set up some of those portable like stands. We ate at Portafinos. We got two full Pepperoni pizzas ($15.65 each) and 6 drinks ($2.35). I think the whole dinner came to around $45 for the 6 of us. Sodas were a bit under filled. The pizza had a slight Garlic taste to it but was good. We hit the Blue Heron lake Crouse which my Niece insisted was a speed boat. They are going in the opposite direction that they were from opening day. basically it heads out away from the park first and circles around along the park last. From there we waked along and hit rides. We hit the Canobie mall and refilled out water bottle at the water fountain by the bathrooms since is dispenses cold water. We went into the jackpot casino were my Niece played slots. She plays slots on the computer with my father so she really liked playing the real ones. We spend about $2.50-3 bucks and got about 195 tickets. But didn’t get any prize since there really isn’t much to choose from, we’ll maybe get something next time. We made out way down the main midway Hit Star Blaster. Great ride only a 10 minute wait. Now that it was getting later the crowds were lightening up. The Science show wasn’t performing today. Radio Disney was at the park. They were set up across from the cannonball on the midway stage. We hit the Cannonball 20 minute wait. They have allot of trouble getting people to put on there seat belts. Perhaps many people don’t remember they are there and just sit down. But it slowed down every train. Also the line was a mess. People had left cups and trash on the hand rails along the platform wall. They really need to get this under control put a hole in the fence and install a trash can or something. The ride was great fast smooth and full of air time. This coaster is very much overlooked but the park needs a new coaster. While exiting I noticed that the new handicapped exit had a new wall and allot of landscaping was adding in front of it. It looks allot better now and in a few years as the trees grow in it will add some much needed shade. We headed for the western area. I noticed on the way that the Matterhorn was shut down. I was hoping to run into one of the owners again and ask about this since resent info point to a major problem that might lead to the removal of the ride. When we got to the western are the flume line was a bit long. Since it was late and my niece was getting restless we skipped it for right now. She road the kiddie Flume which I find to be a waist of space. She showed no excitement and spent more time trying to figure out how it worked. From there we road Mine of Lost souls Dark ride. The ride needs to be overhauled. I like the ride and the animatronics worked well but allot of the doors were not operating and were instead locked open. I think only 3 of the door were working right and the strobe on the Falling Rock wasn’t working. Also the last scene hasn’t worked in years and should be reworked into something else. Since the line had gone down we jumped on the flume. It was only a few minutes wait. I ended up ridding alone since my mother and younger brother didn’t want to go on. The water level was high and the boats were flying through the circuit. Good splashes off of both hill as well and of the 2 mid course drops. Since we didn’t hit it earlier we walked over to the train. We got on at the central station by the Bebop Dinner and Skeet Ball. My niece knowing very well what a train is was saying trains and calling out “all aboard, choo Choo.” So were road this out and then back to the station. My father had never been on Whipout so I insisted he go on with me. So we walked over to the Whipout as the rest of the family went to get fried dough. My father really liked the look of the ride and had only been on a few rides like this. He was in for a bid surprise. He was very impressed with the ride and when we got off he said come on and headed for the Round up. I normally end up riding this alone so it was a great joy to ride with some one. It was also nice to hit a few rides just my father and I. When we met back up with the family they were a little upset and my niece was crying. It seams they tried to ride DaVinci’s Dream with my niece and were told she couldn’t ride. I guess the operator got yelled at for letting them ride before. I think him getting yelled always more that two kids under height were in the duel seat and not an adult with the. So my niece though see was going on and couldn’t. I will bring this up on my next trip to the park. Last thing was to get fried dough. We had Ice cream a little earlier but my 2 brothers and Sister in law didn’t want ice cream. They ordered and got there 2 fried dough’s and drinks. We sat down and were getting it divided. We suddenly heard he take this one two. They gave us the last one for free. So we ate and walked out of the park. It was about 10:20 by the time we left the park. I finally saw the new entrance arch light up and it looks great with the “Canobie lake Park” outlined in green neon. Over all a good day but there were a few things worth complaining about. I will bring them up the next time I go to the park. The park was busy today and yesterday from what I heard so that will help make up for all the rainy weekends. I hope everyone had as good a father’s day. I will post pictures of the day soon.
  16. Here are the pics I too openign day. Link to photos
  17. We got on our way at 9:30. We had a few things to do in Salem before going to the park so we despite our early departure got didn’t get to the park till 11:10. We got our Good any day tickets. I bought 6 tickets at $19.00 to get me through the year. That will give me one trip each month and two extra to play with. So we entered and maid our way to Cannonball. The Cannonball was having some problems right of the bat. Ben and James were at the ride and so was one other poster from the Canobie fan site. Opening day at Canobie often feels like a reunion. Well it seems the restraints were stuck shut after the first run with passengers. My Group opted to leave and hit something else. From what I hear the coaster was up within 10 minutes. No other problems accrued during the day for this coaster. As far as Brake downs went. There was a slight delay on star blaster up in about 5 minutes. A mechanic adjusted something at the top of the ride and it was fine all day and skater was down most of the day but ran in the morning and for the last few hours of the day. He hit DaVinci’s Dream and Psychodrome. It was early and the line was short. Psychodrome was enjoyable, still running fast but with no smock or strobe lights. The smoke was excusable do to the smock but please get those Strobes running again. We hit Mine of Lost Souls. It looks like they fixed a few Effects but there are still a few not operating. We then hoped on the Flume while lines were short. Always a good ride! We maid our way to the Whip Out and got on the next run. Always fun but this intense setting can be a bit hard on the back. As we left the ride we Saw Anthony Berney and went over to talk to him It’s always great seeing him since he’s one of the park owners actually out and taking interest in his park but he’s also willing to give info were info is available. He confirmed that the park did indeed but a Huss Frisbee. The ride is a Portable model and will be set up on the site of the old Galaxy coaster ware the Skater sits now. The ride will be opening late July early August. The ride is being refurbed and rethemed to match the 50’s/ art deco theme of the area. The Skater will be moved to the location of the Paratrooper ride and the paratrooper will be removed and put up for sale. It can be yours for 24,000. He also cleared up rumors of a water park expansion and any chance of a steel coaster any time in the near future. With no time frame set they would add another wood coaster before a steel coaster. By this time it was 12:00 and the park was actually busy. Lines for the rides became one to two circuits and cannonball was 20-30 minutes. We ran into a guy we knew from ACE and later ran into another person we know from ACE. Well our original Group of 3 was now a group of 5. We hit Cannonball and I got a front seat ride. The back reprofiled corner of the ride is now painted and you would never know it was changed. The coaster was reasonable fast given the cold weather and the Through the day we hit the rides. We skipped the wetter water rides like Timber splash and Boston Tea party. They were both open but I don’t know why. The Timber Splash employees were asking people to ride why they bother keeping this ride I have no idea. We maid another loop around the park mostly talking to and I took allot of Pictures and video of the park. we hit Cannonball again, Star Blaster and Paratroopers. With the knowledge of paratroopers soon removal we made sure to ride it. We hit caterpillar with is always a fun ride. We had hit many of the rides in the park. We started Splitting up and hitting more attractions. Eventually we were back to 3, and we maid out way to the main midway to hit the rides in that area. Matterhorn was running really slow. I hope they don’t plan on running it like this for now on. It was so boring, the cars barley swung, not a great ride. We maid our way into what is now sort of a 50’s Art deco themed area. The Tilt-A-Whirl, now twist and shout has a new paintjob and it’s been moved back. The walkway was widened and the ride now has a queue and exit/handicapped ramp. After riding we say Anthony again and asked a few more question on the way by. Seems the new entrance will be huge. As he put it “were over building.” The building will be past we the pool is now. The setup will be Offices on the left (looking from inside the park) entrance in the middle and new bathrooms on the right. The bathrooms in that area will be torn down. The Warf will indeed be redone into a Chinese restaurant. I didn’t ask how much the set up would be changed. One of the Food mangers were there and we talked about the food. I complemented them on the fried dough and BBQ food. Though mentioned that many people feel the food is sub par and the biggest down fall in the park. She said they are working to make the food better and that she has personally done some of the food like the candy apples. We were also informed that when they build the new entrance they will save the very large cedar tree that sits between the present entrance and the present exit turnstiles. They will move the tree and then move one of there large spruce trees to become a central focal point of the new entrance. With all luck I will see the Blue prints of the new entrance on my next trip. We had to leave a bit early so we hit a few last rides on Cannonball and Star Blaster I hoped on the Tea cups this old PTC ride can still pack a punch. We maid out way out, I took a few more pics and videos before leaving. Over all it was a good day. I was glad that it was busy given the park wasn’t going to open Sunday do to the rain. We hit most of the rides. Only skipping a few we normally don’t hit. Overall it was a good day, very relaxing, and lots of good news outside of the paratrooper removal. I took lots of pics and will bet then up and ready to view as soon as I can.
  18. Here are the Pics I took at the Media day http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/mrc_eagle/album?.dir=cb0e
  19. SFNE held there Media day on April 13th for there newest rides Catapult and Splash Water Falls. Since Check in was at 6:00 a.m. I was up at 3:00 to get ready. Despite that we got a late start and could you believe it traffic and ended up getting there late. At 6:45 we checked in and got our ACE badges. We entered and noticed the Security guard giving two kids Deputy Security badges (Stickers). Nice little touch for the kids. We maid out way to Catapult and just as we got there we were told everything was starting on the other end. So we turn around and walked al the way to the south end not before letting the security know they are starting on the other side and he might want to let people know. The hole time every employee was wishing us a happy 45th Birthday and welcome to SFNE. Nice to have the employees so enthusiastic but by the end of the day it was getting bit annoying. Likely won’t here it as much when there are a thousand more people for them to say it to. At the south end they had a breakfast buffet. Muffins, Danishes, Coffee, and tea were the main selection. Not as good as last year but who can really complain about a free Breakfast. We ate and went to get on Splash Water Falls but they didn’t have it up. Maintenance was working on the lift and it wasn’t ready. So they suggested we walk over to Catapult. So again we crossed the park to the North end and to the new ride. The new walk way with a ramp or stars that lead to the walkway. From there you will find a slight incline up to the entrances and exits of 3 rides: Cyclone “An American Classic,” Catapult, and Taz Daredevil Dive (The sky coaster). I jumped in line By Brother and his Friend were already on. I took my time so I could get some pics with my new digital camera. Well the ride went up. Well started to at least. Half way op or so it stopped and cam back down. well it was 7:15 and neither of the rides were operating. I stuck around and talked to a few people and an Employee that was at last years media day. Well I got some great info out of him. Seems Houdini will be back, up and running. I guess there is a power back up and a new Basement exit. Well Good news and the rain had stopped. The day isn’t complete waist. Well over the next 3.5 hours I talked and we tried to ride a few times no luck, but more info. Cyclone has been reprofiled and it’s not the old Bill Cob coaster they once had. Just about every thing looks to be changed. The drops, Turns, everything to be seen was higher, lower, more banked, I have no clue how the coaster will be this year. It is literally a new coaster. Another thing about Cyclone is the Entrance exit they both come in and out at the Side of the coaster. The new Entrance path will take you under the coaster, around the supports, back to the side of the station, and up the Exit stars. Yes they changed load unload sides! The exit fallows the old entrance except in sends you under the coaster briefly and out the side to the walkway. There wasn’t a booth for on ride photos and The employee hadn’t any idea weather they were going to still have it or take it out. There is room for it but it wasn’t built. Infect the path light were still waiting to be installed. The new White paint looks great and there a bit more then half done. They were working on it all day. I’m sure it will be finished before they start opening for complete weeks. Seems SFNE inherited a few more things from Astroland Will. A Batman Forever style batmobile will be used in the parade. They also got some things for the sky coaster. Seems a few maintenance and supervisors also came to the park. At 10:45 a maid my way back to south end. Catapult was still malfunctioning. The park planned to start media event and speeches at 11:00. I grabbed lunch. Lunch was simple mostly cold cuts and a few other things which were fine for me. My Brother’s Friend is a vegetarian and found little to her preference. Salads and fruit were about it. I barley got to eat and they announced they were getting started. So I left my food behind and worked my way up to see the show. It was what I expected. Rosevelt Colvin was there again and read this pledge about Adults being kids again and having fun at SFNE. I guess they didn’t take in to mind that most ACE members revolted and went Peter Pan a long time ago. Well the Mayer Cohen, Visitors Bureau President Mary Kay Wydra, GM Mark Kane, and the surprise of the day, CEO Mark Shapiro. After the speeches they introduced the Loony Tunes characters. They danced. It was the Six flags Party they do on main street. There were no new characters at this time. I’m assuming they don’t have the costumes yet. They then brought in the Justice League characters out. They helped through the Switch to officially open the park for business. They had Confetti shooters and Fire works. A few members on the Army National Guard were the first official riders of Splash Water falls. They ran the parade. It has Floats, a 50’s Chevy, Scooby do, the Loony Tunes road in on a trolley, and a few other things. Later they had a marching band. Well the day was started and I got a chance to briefly meat Mark Shapiro. I finished lunch and took more pics. We spent the rest of the day trying to get on catapult and riding Splash Water Falls. They opened Pandemonium around 2:00 as a consolation since Catapult wasn’t cooperating. So I got in 6 rides. One interesting occurrence was I was approached by one of the parks Employees Darlene. She asked my if I was MRCeagle on SFNE central and I said yes. She goes “ I have to show you something, We have this new ride I just have to show you and it’s a big secret.” She leads me to a bench. For you that aren’t on SFNE Central SFNE stinks and I were going on about a bench being the next great ride at the park and it became a running joke. We talked a bit about my view of SFI and the park. I informed her that I want to give SFNE a chance and she discovered that I’m not a local visitor and am A New Hampshire visitor and Canobie is my home park. I think she understood by views of Canobie better after that. I think just about everyone Protects there home park with a passion. Catapult did get two sets of riders. I think they did it in maintenance mode because when many people run up there to get on they unloaded and said it wouldn’t be operating any more today Please enjoy Pandemonium. Splash Water Falls was also shut down early do to problems. They also Plan to raise the cement on the side because the boats were splashing water up and washing the dirt from the ride into the rides water. The Park - Clean the landscaping is very good and the park looks better then it has in years. The bathrooms were kept clean by the attendants. The staff was friendly. They are making an attempt to be better. Catapult - Well it was always down and I didn’t get on. The Mayan Theme looks a bit odd next to Cyclone and should be reconsidered. The ride looks amazing when its running and the few people that did manage to ride it said it was great. But if the down time persists I think Guests will be turned off quickly. This is the parks new E-ticket attraction it needs to be operating. Splash Water Falls - The ride was a Disappointment. The spinning was enjoyable. The drops are the best park of the slide. The Stream section at the end was honestly the best park. But the ride overall isn’t that great. I though the old Flume was a better more exiting ride. It defiantly got you wet, especially in the last year. The sprinkler mechanism I’m sure you will get wet. There are also Water cannons that people can shoot for a Quarter. The cannons look familiar. I think there used to be on one of the other rides. I got stuck on it my second ride. I don’t recommend you even riding this alone. Food - Papa Jones is coming and should prove to up the quality of food at least on the pizza end. They have signs pointing to were the shops are. The park had a few drink stands open. One was a Dian’s Frozen Lemonade. It’s actually very good. It’s an Icee style drink and tastes like lemonade. Not every sweet. If the Price is reasonable I would recommend them. We stayed until they asked us to leave. They shut things down at 3:30 and we made our way out. I enjoyed the day there were some major downfalls. One person jokingly said “this was the most rides down he had ever seen.” I think last year’s Event was better and went allot smother. This year seemed to be Complete Pandemonium, pun Intended. I will get Photo’s up and ready to be seen ASAP.
  20. So was I. It realy Dosn't reflect well on the park. Though maybe it will help the other great parks like Canobie lake park and Lake compounce.
  21. Since this is a Nor Easter event Travel time and all that isn’t that important so I’ll skip to the good stuff. Nor Easter was held in Natick, MA this year. The town is quite nice with a great downtown. Every building in the area was well kept and even the new building (fire, police, Library and City hall) all fit in with the old Churches and other building. We had midway games this year like Fishing Hole, Basketball shoot, Target shooting, etc. They brought back coaster Jeopardy. There was food and plenty of time to talk. The big park of Nor Easter is to find out what all the parks area doing in the NE area. SFNE was the only park to send reps but Jerry Brick had informed up in advance and sent a quick update. SFNE – Well new management begets new changes. Our local SFNE is no exceptions. Much of there time was confirming a lot of news that has been online for a while. The park will be celebrating 45 years of SFI (right out of the Disney handbook). With this celebration you will be seeing many new things including the Brunch with Bugs character meal and similar deal with Scooby Doo. They will be adding a parenting area in the location of the lockers/bathrooms by the Tornado slide. They will be the first park to get it and be a trial park. Another such starter project is the Justice Lounge, a meat and great area located in the former sight of Joker’s wildcard. They will have a Paintball (target game) game set up in the old Crack Axle Arcade. There will be some internal Improvements like Flower gardens (landscaping) to celebrate the 45th anniversary and an added ramp to the back area of North end. Cyclone will also get painted and its queue reworked. The coaster will not switch loading and unloading sides. While they are adding catapult (Swat) and Splash Water Falls (Diablo Falls) they will also be removing a number of attractions. The Rock wall, Colossus (ferries wheel), Joker’s Wildcard (indoor whip out), and I forgot to ask but fallowing SFI trends Chaos. So were looking at 4-5 attractions out Also the Season parking pass will change. We all know prices have increased to $15.00 for a single day or $50.00 for a season parking pass. But they have done away with The Visor passes. They will be switching to Stickers. I assume this is to prevent people from handing off parking passes like so many of us have done in the past. I do want to thank the 3 Managers from SFNE for coming to the event. Funtown - A member came up and gave us a general update on Funtown Splashtown USA. Over all there wasn’t much to talk about. The park is still looking into an expansion that will take the place of the mini golf course. They might start this for this year but no direct word was given. There are no rumors as far as any ride additions for the dry park. Though, I would imagine if York’s Dose shut down its ride side that some of the flats like the round up might find there way to the park. After this I got up and presented on behalf of the NH parks. Santa’s Village - on top of a continued effort on internal improvements the park will be Refurbing and extending there antique Car ride. The park has also added Reindeer games to the park. The games will be located in the Reindeer Rendezvous Barn and consist of two games. The games are Pin the tail on the Reindeer and ring toss, were you will try and get the ring on the antlers. Given that Reindeer naturally shed there antlers you will likely find them using real antlers. Prices for Single day admission will go up this year. The new prices are 21.50 for a single day and children 3 and under are Santa’s Guest and enter free. Parking is free! Story Land – The park will be going simple but will still add a ride for the 2006 season. The park will install the Flying Skooters from Whalom this year. The ride was refurbished with Larson parts and will be instilled in parks Sea Shore area of the park. The ride has been completely painted with Colorful Tropical fish and will be called Flying fish. The ride has been installed in the Location of the Whirling Whales while the whales have been given a new spot next to the sandcastle. If all works out we will see a large scale expansion and a new themed section next year. The park will also be closing the Heritage so take a trip and go through while you still have a chance. The parks admission is staying at $22.00 while children 3 and under continue to get free entrance. Parking is free! Canobie lake Park Canobie despite no real ride addition is up to the most. They will be keeping the Skater ride and adding it to the Official Line up. The park is building new bathrooms in the Canobie mall which will take up the entire back right of the building. The shops are getting face lefts along with many smaller aspects like widening the walkway in from of the Vertigo Theater and paratrooper ride. The park has refurbed the Tilt-a-Whirl giving it a 50’s theme and the name has been changed to Twist and Shout. The Flying Skooters got more work and the Land Sea Rescue (kiddie ride) were also worked on this season. The parks Big addition this year was a brand new fence around the outer parking lot and entrance. The new fence is Rod Iron with wood paneled rood peeks. A new sign was added that incorporates Florissant light and rode Iron and has a very classic look. This theme will carry into the parks new entrance which should be built for 2007. The park is completely reworking there shows this year. Bozo and Elvis have been retired and new shows are being brought in. The ball room will host a Cher Show and will receive further Improvements to handle the shows. The kiddie land/midway stage will host 2 shows. CL5 is a teen pop group style show with a male female cast. And the kids can watch Canobie’s newest character Professor Uncanny. The western stage will host 3 hot Tickets and variety music show with jazz, country, ragtime, etc. The Canobie Critters will be back as well as the spring season Science show and the Canobie Ramblers. Tickets have increased to $27.00 for adults and 18.00 for children. Parking is free! But don’t forget that Opening day, April 22, Canobie will be having there opening day sale/ you can buy tickets good for any day during the season for $19.00 each. Parks not mentioned at Nor Easter but still adding attractions. Lake Compounce – Adding Thunder and Lighting an S&S Screaming Swing ride. The park is also adding a new food stall and Family Restrooms. Like always the park is keeping up with park improvements. Tickets are $32.95 for both the park and Water Park. Children’s rates are $23.95 while seniors get a fantastic $16.95 price. Children 3 and under are admitted free. Quassy – will be expanding there Saturation station to include 2 new tub slides. Clark’s Trading Post – This technically road side attraction is planning to extend there rail line. The expansion will take the train to a plot of land they own. This land is planed to be a future park. Over all it was a great day. Everyone seemed to have a good time and even a few people that went to the lake Compounce back stage tour were able to make some of the event. Now it’s time to get out selves ready for the park openings starting in 4 weeks.
