  1. I am planning on making a visit to BGE last week of this month, July 28th, 29th specifically and was wondering what the crowds would be like?I know it varies year per year but any guesses would be appreciated. Also, what would be the best plan of attack in the morning as far as coasters go? I haven't been since I was about 7, when there was no way you would have strap me to a coaster. So I definately cant wait, especially to pop my B&M cherry. Any help shall be much appreciated!
  2. they have the same type sale going on at kings island too.i went last friday(the 19th) and apparently for some reason, kings island keeps the shop that does the sale closed on fridays. great job ki, the one time i was actually going to spend money on some stuff, you're shop is closed.
  3. i dont think so.im pretty sure its valid only on tickets purchase at the park after 3 pm.
  4. 1.On a Thursday, there shouldnt be much congestion at all. 2.Thursday, you'll not need a Q2Q(personally, unless you're from pretty far away and come on a Saturday, I really see no reason why you would ever need one at Dollywood). 3.Its easy to pack snacks into Dollywood, I always take a few granola bars in my pocket. But im sure if you were to ask, Dollywood would make a exception. 4.I suggest instead of going straight to Mystery Mine, go to the back of the first, and work your well forward. If you time it right, by the time you get to the front lines will be almost non existent. 5.Daredevil Falls, can vary depending on where you sit.Blazing Fury can get you pretty wet if you sit in the front, I suggest the main back for keeping dry, plus there is some surprising air time in the back too. Mountain Sidewinder will pretty much get you soaked every time. Its also, IMO one of the best non coaster rides anywhere. 7.A good majority of food vendors use the giant skillets to cook food.I highly suggest papa's flat bread near the train station.
  5. These pictures make me ask once again, why oh why doesn't dollywood stay open till night?
  6. you really, really need to go during a weekday.usually everything is a walk on-10 minute wait max.if you go to the main back of the park at opening and slowly work your way to the front you can usually avoided almost all the crowd.
  7. Considering the Simpsons is my all time favorite show, hell yes I'd love to see a Simpsons theme park! While I haven't really gotten to watch much of the past few seasons, I'd still be willing to bet it still blows most other shows away. Done right, a Simpsons theme park could be absolutely amazing. You could even have mini parks inside it such as Itchy and Scratchy Land, and Duff Gardens. But unfortunately, I think at this point and time since there are rumors the series will end after the current contract runs out it probably wouldnt be the best idea. However, I think a "land" such at maybe IOA would be a great idea.
  8. i meant to bring the camera, but ran out and forgot it.which is just as well, usually when i do remember it i get lazy and wont take pictures. the boring/rough part is after the first drop, on the tressel.one thing that i think made it not as fun is, there are about two block section in which it slows the ride down too much.its not rough as in, hey i dont want to ride that again, just a little jerky.theres also a very jerky part on the way to the first hill in the dark part. advice:MAKE SURE YOU GET THE FRONT SEATS, you honestly cant see anything from the back.in fact, i miss a pretty big surprise when i rode it the first time in the back, also the two seats on the right side seems the least rough.
  9. My friend and I arrived at Dollywood around 10:30, got our photos took for our season passes, and were in line for Mystery Mine by 11:20!After a short breakdown(15 minutes or so) we were on.I wont go into great detail, but as far as I could tell most/all of the effects were on, the theming was excellent with a couple surprises. The coaster itself, was fun..the first half is a little bit boring/a little rough around a couple turns. The last half on the other hand, is pretty good, vertical drop into heartline/immelmann is good stuff. However, i think the immelmann into the breaks/station is a pretty big let down, but there is quite a bit of hangtime before hand.Overall, with the theming I think Dollywood did a amazing job on this, the size of the building is massive.I suggest everyone checks it out asap. The day in general was good, no waits more than 15 minutes(other than the breakdown on MM).Most waits on MM were 10 minutes or less which ruled.Only downside was Tennessee Tornado was not operating today =( ride count: Mystery Mine:7 Thunderhead:4 Blazing Fury:4 Mountain Sidewinder:1 Timbertower:1 Dizzy Disc(i think thats the name):1
  10. Just curious if anyone plans on going to any of the sneak preview days, or regular park opening this week. I will most likely go for the season passholder's sneak preview day on Thursday and also plan on going Saturday evening/Sunday. heres to Dollywood, that Mystery Mine is ready for a soft opening!
  11. Dear Cedar Fair, you apparently have no business operating wooden coasters at all. thanks, -eric.
  12. aerial pictures of FINISHED track: http://www.bgescape.com/Gallery/thumbnails.php?album=31
  13. this is a old thread but im bored. 1.easier system specs for pc.come on, this game shouldnt lag that much.not everyone can afford the newest up to date pc, and the majority of people fall into this. 2.go back to the old construction interface.i absolutely hate the one on rct3. 3.same thing with the paths. 4.easier menu/navigation system..the first time i played it it took me almost 30 minutes to find how to hire staff.not because i couldnt find the menu, but because i didnt see the tiny hire staff buttons. 5.land editing tools... okay, i like some of these, but others i hate.i hate how land has to be perfectly level before paths can link up. 6.better scenery options. 7.LESS CARTOONISH. 8.smarter peeps.. its really annoying when they crowd in one section of the park, and dont even notice that awesome new rollercoaster you built. 9.rct1/rct2 display options...IE, ability to turn scenery/rides on/off separately from each other, etc. 10.catwalks on lifthills. 11.more elements on certain coasters(IE, vertical drop coasters) 12.maybe midway games?
  14. drive a couple extra hours and make a stop in Tennessee at dollywood.
  15. there are a few pictures up on thrillnetwork from a flyby.construction looks like its coming along good, the immelmann is up! www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?t=37632&page=77 *pictures are on the bottom of the page and also some the next page.
