  1. Bumping. So who else wants to join us?
  2. Awesome, I'm excited for you. Can't wait to go myself. 1. Can anyone recommend a place to stay? Are there any with some kind of park perk deal? 2. I'll be hitting Dollywood on August 14 after the Midwest Trip. That's actually a Thursday and I know someone mentioned that's a good day normally but assume that it will be your average busy summer day when I'm there. How difficult will it be to hit the rides? I'm going mainly for Mystery Mine and Thunderhead. What itinerary do you all suggest given when I'm going?
  3. There's actually two of those books... they weren't bad. Was a big RL Stine fan growing up.
  4. And my laptop desktop:
  5. Shrek 3! 8/10 Shrek 2 > Shrek > Shrek 3, basically. I would have liked for an extra 15-20 minutes to add a bit more to the story. It felt a little bit 'cookie-cutter' but still had a lot of great gags and sequences. As usual, the improvements in the animation since the previous Shrek film were great such as the subtleties in characters' expressions, fur movement etc. Liked the bitchiness of the princesses and such parts as Arthur's high school. It was also really good that the backstory was taken care of in the first few minutes of the film as it helped with the pace. Highly recommended.
  6. Didn't really have a good storyline but still an 8? How come?
  7. Oh ok. I skipped over the part about the W for some reason when I read that.
  8. Never heard that Dub thing before... what exactly is the context?
  9. I think some writers should be put out of their misery...
  10. Here's mine. Desktop: TA-DA!

  12. Yep I saw it last night too in a Gold Class cinema - luxury seating and food/drink brought around to your table. I had two tickets given to me by my stepsister as a late birthday gift and yesterday was the last day I could use them. So took a mate. Best way to see a 3-hour movie Really liked it though I thought there were too many betrayals & some of the conversation was hard to make out because of the accents. But it was a good movie. I can't help but think Potc2 could have been combined with this one to form the one movie though... both movies are a little bit bloated, as good as they are. Great action sequences though and it really did work as pure popcorn fodder. One of those movies you still have to think about though. I can't believe I missed the scene after the credits though; I always sit through the credits but it was midnight so my mate & I rushed out of there, not knowing there was one. So those who haven't seen it yet, wait for that last scene, it's a good one (saw it on Youtube but it's just not the same seeing it on the small screen) 8.5 Soggy Sailors out of 10
  13. ^ Would like to be a pirate < Isn't going on the Spain trip anymore, sorry v Enjoys watching COPS as a guilty pleasure
  14. Self-named experts who also claim to be kept 'in the loop' of everything coming to Australian theme parks by PR departments. Even though they're 15.
  15. The experimental shops sound interesting too. I'm sure they could pull off a lot of illusions in them too. Maybe take a leaf out of the Quidditch World Cup sequence of Goblet of Fire & have tents/buildings that use forced perspective on the INSIDE to seem much bigger. Maybe we'll get to have butter beer
  16. Yeah, that was on ComingSoon.Net too. Anyway, sounds like they're not planning on doing any half-measures: hopefully it *won't* replace Lost Continent but should be really good either way. I'm not a diehard HP fan; I don't go to midnight launches, go to the movies dressed up as a house elf/wizard/gnome etc but do really like it. I can think of far worse ideas than this.
  17. ^^ Yeah that was the best review I've read so far, thanks for giving us such detail. Can't wait to do this coaster. Is it August yet?
  18. ^ I'm guessing that's some kind of chilli or pepper. In which case, I think I could, having always been good at handling the spicy food. Mum's major craving when pregnant with me was chilli and I was having Thai food since in a high chair. < Wants to be on the Midwest Trip. Right now v Hey batter batter bing...batter batter
  19. My intention is to check into Pop Century on arrival in Orlando and do the Disney part of the trip first. As mentioned, I also do want to hit both water parks, DisneyQuest & Downtown Disney. I want to spend at least 4 days total doing Universal & IOA as I love those parks and only had 1 day for each last time. Sea World and Busch Gardens probably just one day each. Most of you would have done Orlando more than me so I am really open to suggestions in terms of what day to hit which park -- so long as I get a good go at them all, it's all good. A big motivation here is to get to meet some more of you, not just the ones going on the Midwest Trip, so if certain days suit more people then all the better. So those interested in coming along during that time, say what days suit you & which parks you'd like to hit. We'll plan out something that works for a bunch of you and not just a couple.
  20. Yep you heard it here first. Sorry about that, I was really tired last night when making this thread. Some of you DW locals'd love it to happen though, hey. - Tony 'Did you also hear they're moving Duelling Dragons to Kennywood?' Teulan
  21. INTEREST LIST - Updated June 12 ********************************************************** thefitness - maybe resonance - definitely. be interested. depending on what days we're going to do what, needs to know ahead of time so can get days off. probably up for most of Disney and IoA on the Saturday redfoot12 - definitely interested in Busch Gardens & Sea World if can go RCTfan - yep. works at Disney. annual to Universal thrillrideseeker - also works at Disney splzero - Universal weekends. ahfter work weekdays at BGA/SeaWorld The Johnsons - the two of them will probably have time on weekends Grinch1313 - Will be at Typhoon Lagoon with friends on August 18 or 19 piano john - Disney cast member, has Universal pass and also works at Busch Gardens *********************************************************** After doing the Midwest Trip, I'll be flying into Orlando on the morning of the 15th and then flying out on the 31st. During that time I'm planning on hitting the usual suspects; the Disney parks, the Universal parks, Sea World and probably Busch Gardens Africa as well. A couple of people on the Midwest Trip have already shown interest in coming along for at least part of it. Because those people are pushing their time off/money as it is, I thought it would be a good idea to post the thread in this forum & see about getting some of you all together. While I don't hold an International Drivers Licence I will happily put in money for a rental car [if that's what people opt for] & because this is an unofficial trip, you will be able to come for whatever days you're able to make it along. For the Disney part of the trip, I'm personally looking at staying at Pop Century to get some perks (particularly the Extra Magic Hours) without the premium rates of the resorts. It would be nice to meet some more of you for some coaster madness and general tomfoolery I'm Australian so I can even attempt to smuggle some koalas in so you can cross-breed them with your grizzys or something * SCHEDULE * 15th-24th: Walt Disney World - August 18th: Typhoon Lagoon - Only Specific Scheduling So Far due to Grinch1313 (Kim) being there on that day with friends 25th-27th: Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure 28th: Wet'n'Wild Orlando 29th: Busch Gardens Africa 30th: Sea World Orlando 31st: Flying back to LA then on to Australia
  22. EDIT: Thunderhead, rather. Made this thread at ten to 1 in the morning and I was really tired when I did. After the Midwest Trip, I'll be spending the 14th of August at Dollywood. Was wondering if there is anyone interested in joining in. There are a few people from the Midwest Trip potentially interested in going & I want to go to experience Mystery Mine and Thunder Head. Most people on the Trip are pushing their money/time off enough as it is so I'm not counting on many coming from that. Still, I would be interested in hearing from those here who are local, semi-local or just generally up for it. I fly out of Knoxville on the morning of the 15th.
  23. Try reading his post properly. It wasn't him. And he didn't ask them to do it.
  24. ^ Mmm. It was about 5AM when I went to bed. < Is going to hop into bed shortly and have a read [12:40am here] v Would never go bungee jumping
  25. ^ I'm riding it in August on the Midwest Trip. Not before - since I'm in Australia < Is watching Big Brother daily show v Is an actual punk rocker with flowers in his/her hair
