Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

"Note: “The Legend of Mythica”, the daytime harbor show which opened in July 2006, will close on September 7, 2014." I thought this was like Fantasmic or The Electrical Parade in the US & would become the Tokyo Disney show that would run forever. A great, unique show. -
Not sure if this is too late to mention but Tokyo Disneylands Jubilation Parade has its last day Friday April 5th before they start up the new 30th parade April 15. I'd switch dates & do Disney on the more likely quieter Thurday & hit Tobu Zoo on the Sunday.

therooboy replied to urkobilbo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The are available at a stand nearby the merry go round & tend to sell or out early. Im not 100% but i think it is open most/if not every day. -
Fuji Q Highland or Tobu Zoo Park

Also an Intamin fan here. I really liked the megalite & Regina was good too at Tobu, the park was quite relaxing & quiet. But I definitely have preferred my time at Fuji Q & their 4 big coasters. I'd recommend Fuji, but only if you shell out for their fast passes. -

When i went for Halloween & Christmas last year i saw alot of Duffy merchandise that had a matching Shellie May counterpart. Though Duffy was uber popular, Shellie May was treated more as a secondary character to Duffy & showed up sparingly & no way had the huge demand Duffy had at Cape Cod, at least not last year. I never actually saw her myself in 9 days there, whereas Duffy was a main character in Disney Seas 10th Anniversary show. -

Trip to the U.S.A next year
therooboy replied to aussiekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^And Universal Hollywood is worth it for Transformers too Oh how could i forget Transformers [havent been since that opened]. For my first US trip i visited parks around LA & Orlando as well as Cedar Point & Six Flags Great Adventure Staying in LA, NYC,Florida & Ohio. I got a pretty decent selection of coasters, though not too many woodies, you do [now] get 2 very good ones in El Toro & Apocalypse. I found there was public/hotel transport to all the parks, though Magic Mountain proved slightly harder to find. -

When i have visited the states form Oz, i tend to do it via LA & visit Magic Mountain & the 2 Disneys. Knotts isn't a must do if your doing several other parks on your trip, although Xcellerator is great. If your definitely doing Universal Orlando, i'd only go to Universal Hollywood if the Backlot Tour really interests you. -

Pretty good listing of coasters & parks, but it always makes me crave for Mitchs poll. A park rating poll like Mitchs might be good too. -

They seemed to have fixed the end brake which was alot smoother. Previously i had witnessed a girl get a blood nose from hitting her head on the train during that brake. -

Rode Oziris a couple days ago for the first time. (had the VIP package so got several rides on it) I quite liked it. After reading reviews i was thinking it would ride like Silver Bullet at Knotts Berry but it certainly wasn't IMO It wasnt as extreme on the inversions like many B&M inverts but i found it a great ride & didnt feel any excessive (& un B&M) roughness. The VIP package was so worth it, besides the unlimited fast pass for several rides, the 3 course meals we had were delicious. Just my opinion! -

Wow. That looked spectacular. Any news whether they were used on any other nights yet. Would certainly keep a crowd until closing. -
Massive Europe Trip Report
therooboy replied to Mrenata's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the review of Woden. Europa is an amazing theme park, much like the Disneys, their coasters are generally more family friendly & not the most extreme or forceful in the world. Was hoping for something a bit wilder. -

Great report so far. As you noted, Phantasialand isn't the biggest park, but it certainly is a park with an envious list of great attractions. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain in May

X2 will have a lengthy wait time even on the quiet days, when other coasters are practically walk on. Good time to go. You should be fine. -
Post edited. Thanks for all the info & advise. Yes, unless we risked flying in & out of Hong Kong on the same day, Hong Kong Disneyland is working out too difficult time wise. The wet season is too risky to chance with just the one day. Happy Valley & Chimelong here we come
-
Thank you I have emailed you my details. We want to hit Hong Kong Disney first on the way over & likely hit Happy Valley or Knights Valley on our return, so we can leave it til the day to decide which, if any, of those. Other than Ocean Park, there is also Chimelong Paradise. I think that covers whats major nearby park/coasterwise. Would appreciate any info i may have missed.

thanks & yes, good educated guess, i wish i was aware earlier. Nonetheless we think we can work the change to our benefit. Just reading up on our needs for possibly a china & hong kong visa entry.
