I guess we all agree that Legend IS running slower than it has in the past... Maybe this winter they will restore it to its original glory! {Fingers crossed}

Before I begin, let me state up front: I think HW is one of the premier parks in the US. However..... I visit several differant coaster forums 3 to 4 times a week. During my visits I've read numerous HW trip reports. I can't think of one where any single person said anything positive about The Legend. Why? Well, it's slow, it squeeks and it's starting to get rough. Which brings me to my next concern. If this is how HW maintains "bigger" wooden coasters, what will happen to The Voyage in 6 years? It's bigger, faster and longer. Will it too become a shell of its formal self? Or worst..... I write this because while I was visiting another coaster site I ran across a thread about HW. Someone stated that The Legend would be getting a reprofile in the off season. Paula wrote back and said: "Ummm...no it's not. We always schedule trackwork for the coasters during the offseason, but there's no reprofiling planned." Paula Huh? How can that be? It is in dire need of something. I also would like to state for the record, The Legend used to be my #1 Woodie. Today, I don't think it would make my top ten.... This post is not intended to bash HW. Only to voice my concern for our wooden friends. I hope only to make HW aware of the current condition of The Legend. Maybe if enough of us speak up, Voyage won't end up in the same spot 6 years from now.

I don't like epic long TR's, so this will be short but sweet. We arrived at the Dells Friday night (8/11/06) at 5:30 PM. We SHOULD have arrived about 2 1/2 hours earlier, BUT thank you Illinois toll roads! We drove straight to Timber Falls Adventure Park, bought our wrist bands and Rode Avalanche first thing. It has gotten a little rough in spots. Not terrible, but it could use a little TLC. Next up, we did the log flume. One of the best log flumes for its size. We played two rounds on mini golf (we had a couple of 8 stroke holes!) and after that rode Avalanche until it closed. Saturday (8/12/06) We arrived at Mt O. around 8:15 am, just before the morning ERT. Took our first spin on the hellish one. MAN DO I LOVE THIS RIDE! My favorite woodie. Our first 3 rides were with the lights on. Totally differant experience IMO. A little after 9am they turned the lights out. Now I remember why this is my favorite woodie! It's extremely intimidating. I ducked every time in the dark! Why? I don't know! I've ridden it probably 30 times, but I found myself ducking. Fun stuff. We got a few spins on Cyclops during the ERT. It could use a little love. Still fun but I hope to see it running a little smoother next year. After the ERT, we ran over to Zeus. Now, last year Zeus was in very poor condition. Rough all over. However, before we went into the park I noticed new wood on Zeus! Could it be, my God of thunder was back to his old self? .........Yes he is! Man, they did a great job on the hills after the first drop and the return run. It ran great all day. I was so pleased. Next we did Opa. Now, a couple of weeks ago I read somewhere that someone could not get Opa to spin. That was not a problem for us! I have not been that dizzy in quite some time. Oh, and I lost my sunglasses! The night time ERT started at 10pm. Hades and Zeus were on the menu. They both ran superb! What a great trip. Great weather, fantastic food, and extreme wood. You can't ask for more!

I'm going with Demon, SFGAm. The corkscrew is just plain brutal.

Have you ridden Voyage? How does it compare?

Too much Icehouse makes my head hurt.

I didn't have enough time to look at all 74 pages here.....but did anyone guess 500 ft wooden inverted stand-up? That's my guess.
