Great Adventure or Cedar point
schotj replied to Sephiroth77's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was initially psyched to go to Cedar Point, but it wasn't what I had hoped for. Sure they have a lot of coasters, but I couldn't help but notice everything they had were basically just slapped down. Nothing I rode there exceeded my expectations. Kinda Ka and Dragster are basically the same ride. I actually find the airtime hill on Kinda Ka to be a great addition, but am dissapointed in the restraints. Medusa is wayyy better than Mantis. I will compare El Toro and Maverick. However I have not ridden Maverick, so I will call them equal. Nitro edges out Millenium Force. MF has the great first drop and the pure speed, but I don't feel it has much else. Nitro has a solid first drop, and floater air on every hill. Again, this is an opinion, but I will stay with it. Raptor edges out Batman. I have only ridden that green monster once, and would love to go on it again, because I do not remember it that well. But I know that Batman delivers a very powerful ride in a short amount of time. I only like Raptor a little better because of the length. The Dark Knight, while not amazing, is better than Disaster Transport, Corkscrew, and Wildcat combined. Again just my opinion. I am not going to go into every roller coaster, just the major ones. But I do feel that if GADV could have fixed Batman and Robin the Chiller to run consistently, it would have been a better investment that The Dark Knight. That ride was unique, and intense. I truely do miss it. While GADV lack flats, overall the atmosphere is more pleasant. With the addition of new, highly themed areas, Six Flags is heading in the right direction. I can't wait to see what they are adding in 2009! -

It's not that hard really. If the girl openly talks to you....and just babbles on about random crap, that is a sign she might be interested. Also, look into her eyes when you talk to her. If she returns the favor (staring back) that is a sign too. Usually she will laugh at most of the things you say, even if it is not funny. Lots of little signs, add up.

2008 NBA Playoffs: What to look out for in the west
schotj replied to Bolliger&Mabillard's topic in Random, Random, Random
UGHH... I am pissed the Hornets lost. When will the Spurs not make the NBA finals?? The Lakers still have a chance to win, but the Spurs are too good. -

^ I'm Straight!!! But anyways, I just found out one of my best friends in high school is gay. I am now at the end of my freshman year in college, and am totally shocked. He was always talkin about girls and such during high school, I dont know what made him change his mind. Kissing a girl just seems so much more.........I dont know.......better.......

I've just got a quick question. Is it easier to build a coaster with lots of small segments, creating the basic layout one segment at a time? Or should you build a really long segment and split it up forming your coaster out of a basic shape? Also if you would like to create a wooden coaster wtih lots of camelbacks, back to back to back, how do you make the whole series in a straight line. When you use the straight tool "I" it makes the track a straight line. But when you create smaller segments I can never get the track to line up perfectly, while going over hills. Just some tips from experienced users would be AWESOME

^Those definately sound good, except I don't have anywhere to find the information I need. I am lost when it comes to good websites for this stuff....

For my Management class I am required to find two or three different companies in the same industry, and compare them. For example I could have chosen to talk about Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts because they are both coffee shops. I, being the coaster geek I am, decided to choose roller coaster manufactureres. B & M, Intamin, and possibly one more. My only problem is finding information pertaining to the two companies. Everything from annual sales, the number of employees, year founded etc. I don't know where to find any of that "stuff," so if any of you have information or a website that might that would be GREAT. Thanks.

In all of your guys's opinions, what are the best downloadable supports? And where can I find them? -
What I mean is blasting about how bad a park is in general. My point was that if you don't like it at all. its better just to be quiet and not feel you have to put somebody down. Now there is no problem with constructive criticism, that is of course how people do get better. But make sure you have something constructive to say, rather than, blunt, mean comments. i hope you get what i am trying to say

Lets all just take a deep breath, and calm down. As for me, I would love to see one of these parks. I myself don't like to theme either. I find it really boring with slow results, and would rather be building coasters. We all have different styles, and that's the point of these forums, is to show off our work. Although parks may not live up to others' expectations, we have to appreciate the work someone put in, and show a little, just a little appreciation. And even if you dont like it, pretend you do, because that way everyone stays happy.

RCT3 EXPANSIONS?
schotj replied to thrillrideseeker's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
so with Wild, do you get to add more coaster elements? Because with soaked, the one i have, i don't have elements like the inclined loop. Is this available with wild?
