  1. My updated list (last one was back in 2011). In no specific order... Steel: X2 Leviathan Raptor Great Bear Silver Bullet Gatekeeper Millennium Force Dominator/Batman Knight Flight (GL) Dragster Talon Wood: Wildcat @ Hershey Voyage Thunderhead El Toro Phoenix Lightning Racer Apocalypse White Lightning Ravine Flyer II Roar (East)
  2. Awesome! Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Wish we were able to get back there again this year.
  3. They don't matter to me at all. Nor do normal credits. I ride what appeals to me, so I commonly skip almost any boomerang, SLC, kiddy coaster, etc... I would probably have 15-20 more credits if I did not skip so many rides lol
  4. I think of method they could use is preventing the right side of the lot (facing the entrance parking gates from GK) from exiting to the center via cones and some traffic control people. Let the left side/preferred be the only ones allowed to exit to the center lane out. Give them the option to exit left in the back there (the back road) or right and maintain their own lane all the way out of the park. The right/main side (again, facing the gates from GK) would exit to the side only. Heavy staffing of every other lane or so would direct flow either to the front area to exit or the middle/rear region of the lot. Give that section of the lot the entire 2nd lane (passing lane) exiting that main roadway. The soak city lot and the employee/overflow lot to the far right would exit in the far right most lane. So they would have 3 lanes out into the causeway (minimize incoming traffic to just one lane into the park, and restricting access in to prioritize the exiting guests). Of course, once certain zones clear out, they could unblock the other exits to clear out the remainder of the lot. This is one idea I had though when getting caught in the 4th of July traffic. There was nobody directing traffic except a few in the very back. It was basically every person for themselves, which is a bad thing. If you were in the front of the parking lot, you had to wait for allllll the other rows to exit before you. You did not move at all. I think with some organization preventing people from cutting into traffic, blocking traffic, etc... You would prevent such a bad blockage out of the park. I know you cannot eliminate it, but they really need to bring staffing in with a plan for traffic flow. Not just at intersections, either. I know though, much easier said then done.
  5. Looks like today CP is completely full. Full lot, parking in the grass down the causeway. Traffic was backed up in Sandusky (downtown). Insane. How you can even begin to have an enjoyable day there today is beyond me. I can't imagine leaving that park at close. Best to probably sleep in the car two hours before even trying.
  6. CP has probably the worst out of the Cedar Fair events I have been to. I have only been at Canada's Wonderland and Kings Island to compare within the Cedar Fair chain, but I like both better than CP. Both have better houses... All have relatively weak zones though. Canada's Wonderland's event is amazing house-wise. They have a few houses that are as good as, if not better than some HHN houses. The sets, detail and characters are amazing. We were blown away the first time we had went, not expecting it to be as good as it was. We went back the next year as well. Sadly, we won't make it there this year as we went down to HHN instead. I am surprised I don't hear so much more about CW's event. I really think it can be in the running alongside HHN and Knotts (from what I hear). CP's event is OK, but the iffy house designs (do you really need bright lights shining in your eyes around each turn of the house?) and careless scare actors talk as soon as they think you leave the room between themselves. Kind of a buzzkill. They also rely on shaker cans wayyyy too much to try and scare you. I don't know, the whole event just feels so "flat" with energy if that makes sense. I just wish the employees had a bit more passion or something.
  7. Thanks everyone, appreciate the compliments! Corey, How was the event?
  8. I would say X2. Nothing really compares that I have ridden.
  9. My homepark is CP... My top ride is Gatekeeper. It was Raptor up until this year, but the past few visits Gatekeeper has just been outstanding with the loose vests, front-seat night rides and minimal waits. Love it. After GK/Raptor, my next top ride would be Dragster.
  10. I would probably vote Thunderhead... Second would be Wildcat for me... White Lightning is a blast as well, but mainly due to the operators, endless ERT and a ton of other factors when we go. Drop that ride anywhere else and probably not nearly as good.
  11. We thought about catching Howl-O-Scream but it did not work out. We hope to catch it one year, though. How does it compare, do you think? Have you been to both?
  12. We did four nights straight and had all the houses, each night, done in about 1.5-2hrs with careful planning and utilizing stay and scream as well as two nights with the passholder early entry. But for normal stay-and-scream, they take you back to Werewolf in London... Do that and go right to Cabin afterward. Once Cabin is complete, go to Evil Dead then to Resident Evil. Go right back to the 3D house and try to get that done and Llarona afterward which usually has a shorter wait compared to the Walking Dead house... By this time, walking dead is probably very busy. Go back up front and hit Havoc and catch Bill and Ted depending on timing. Later on, Walking Dead dropped to 10-20mins from the 60+min waits right in the beginning. You should easily be able to do them all if you work quickly at the beginning. The longest waits of the event were always Cabin, Evil Dead and Walking Dead... I would focus on the front houses first though, as like I said, the Walking Dead/Llarona houses got shorter later on.
  13. I would vote Evil Dead and Cabin in the Woods as the top mazes. Following those two, Werewolf and Llorona. At the bottom for me would be Resident Evil and Havok, although I did not find any house bad. All were quite enjoyable.
  14. ^ They do... So its time to tear Mean Streak down completely and put a GCI in it's place.
  15. That would be Walking Dead this year! That house was good, but not as strong as Evil Dead or Cabin in the Woods (I thought). But it really depends on each time you go through any house if you get all the scares or have terrible timing throughout. Sometimes for example, Werewolf was awesome... You caught every effect and plenty of good scares. Other times, you may miss almost everything. So it is always worth trying a house out 2-3 times, at least, before you come to a conclusion. But Walking Dead was themed very well and had some great parts throughout. My only issue with this house was all the light leak above as you walk throughout the house... It made it feel a bit less "believable". Other houses had roofs and other stuff that blocked you from looking up and seeing the roof of the building (which I prefer). Others may have been the same, but this is the one I noticed it each time so it bothered me a bit.
  16. Thanks everyone! Downunder, We went every year from about 2004 until 2009 when we stopped going. The event just was not as good the last year or so, so we decided to hold off a few years until we would go again. This year all the houses were very good though, although the zones are still lacking considerably from what they used to be. I hope in the next few years they put a bit more focus into the zones and making some really unique/fun areas. Hilltopper, What building is the parade one? Not that familiar. The houses in the sound stages are: Cabin in the Woods is the first soundstage behind blue-man, closest to the front of the park (entrance by Despicable Me). Resident Evil is next (behind the stage setup), Werewolf in London next to that (closer to Twister) and finally Evil Dead at the far end back by the turnaround for Rockit. Not sure if this helps!
  17. Made a trek back down to HHN Orlando this year after a few years of not going. We were really happy we did, as this years event was fantastic. We went to HHN every night from Thursday to Sunday... Did the season pass holder early entry and stay-and-scream as well, which allowed us to basically do all the houses within the first hour and a half or so. Afterward, we just repeated houses with shorter waits. In the end, we must have hit all the houses around 4-5 times, as well as watching Bill and Ted (which was great, we thought), had a few drinks, rode various attractions and met up with a few friends. Between all the houses, our personal top three was Evil Dead, Cabin in the Woods and Werewolf in London. At the bottom, I would probably put Havoc in there... While still a good house, just fell behind all the others. I surprisingly even enjoyed the 3D house, probably the best of the type I have seen. I enjoyed the effects and it was not just a bunch of neon paint thrown around. This year, I honestly felt that no house was bad. All were good to great, so that was awesome. Scare zones were so-so... I really wish they kept all the walking dead stuff in a section or two of the park and did some other types of zones elsewhere. I did enjoy the skits they did, like the walkers attacking the car at the front of the park and going after the fireball each time by Disaster. There was a tank one as well by Twister but we had missed it, sadly. Best zombie of the event would have to go the half-zombie by the barn... He simply does a fantastic job with the character. Overall, we had a blast at this years event. We were so glad we made it back down again and hope to make it back again next year. All the photos in high resolution (100+) can be found here: I also have a video I put together from the event... Links are below. For mobile viewing, use the Vimeo link (Youtube won't work). https://vimeo.com/m/76051258 Enjoy!
  18. I would expect this ride to feel much like the more recent inverts and not like the older ones... B&M has not really built any designs in the US that have had the intensity of the older designs in a very long time. I would expect a much more "Silver Bullet" feel... Which to me is not a bad thing, as I really enjoyed that ride... So I am excited regardless of how intense it may be... But for those who want mind crushing g-forces, I think you may have to stick to Raptor, Montu and the Batmans.
  19. I tend to prefer the old style B&M speed trains over the "V" style ones they use a majority of the time now. I hope parks chose them more often when buying B&M hypers/gigas. I like the feel of the smaller train and has less push/pull over the hills. So if Carowinds does get a B&M, I hope they are the old style trains myself.
  20. I would love to see the dive machines taken to the next level in terms of layout elements, length, etc... I think they are fantastic rides.
  21. I305 was back in 2010... They could have easily of had B&M make them a ride in 2-3yrs given the troubles with I305. I think Cedar Fair in general has seen the light given the nightmares a few of the Intamin installations had been. While great rides, they are nightmares for maintenance and issues. B&M's are SMART decisions for parks. Spend a little more but get a very reliable attraction that you know will not have many headaches. While Intamin offer more dynamic, intense designs... You can expect some issues to go along with it in terms of keeping it running. I think Cedar Fair is smart to go with B&M's, even if the enthusiast community is less than excited about it. I have not been impressed nor excited about many of the more modern Intamin designs. I miss what they did around 2000 compared to today.
  22. I prefer Leviathan over any other B&M or Intamin hyper/giga coaster I have ridden. I would be much more excited for a B&M than an Intamin, myself! But I know I am in the minority about that.
  23. Cedar Point put on another fantastic event tonight. Honestly, they are going above and beyond for the enthusiast community this year! ERT was great on GK and MF for the first hour, getting 8 laps on GK without having to get off, only to switch seats or sides. Had three straight front seat rides without getting off. Awesome! Hit Raptor and MF during normal early entry and enjoyed the Midway Market dinner (free for all) which included an alcoholic beverage. On the way out, got a free bag filled with a Halloweekends hat and hoodie! Enjoyed the new house during the preview hour and finished the last few hours walking around through the zones. Got one of the tweetups for a coin which was nice. After media day and this event though, I am simply getting spoiled. These events have been perfection. Thanks again to CP for the amazing evening.
  24. Have not gone the past two HHN's but will be back this year! Looking forward to it.
