  1. This coaster looks as if it could end up being one of the sleeper hits of 2012; very impressive layout.
  2. Thanks for posting both trip reports-still wished I could have made it out for this but it was great to see all of the coverage. After the past WCB Events at SFMM, it does appear if that day was scaled down a bit this year but it still looks as if it was overall pretty awesome. Knott's looks as if it outdid last years, which was already amazing (I will never forget that ERT in the pouring rain at WCB 2011!) I loved the Q&A video (Jeff was hilarious) and the TPR Quest Video (which left me hoping to see another TPR Quest at Deep South Bash this year). Looking forward to WCB 2013!!!
  3. I don't know if ANYONE will ever get a "Giga Wing Rider"......but count me as someone who would be thrilled beyond words if SFOG ever got just an X-Flight clone or a 4D coaster from S&S or B&M-that to me that would perfectly round out a stellar assortment of coasters. However, it could be a while, as they just got DDD. I have to reiterate what I know i have said before: I continue to be nothing but impressed with SFOG as the past three visits I have had there-last summer, Deep South Bash and last November on Season Passholder Day-have been nothing short of outstanding. In addition to a great assortment and variety of rides, the park is very well kept and clean, offers a good balance of thrills and stuff for everyone to do, and even a good assortment of food options. I look forward to this coming season as well. I wish I could do opening weekend, but as of the moment I am instead planning on going on the 24th on my way back from Dollywood. It would be great if Cyclone were open by then, but if not, I will definitely come back when it is as I am anxious to see how it rides after the Topper Track.
  4. ^I don't know if it is being taken out; maybe construction of their next attraction will cause it to have to be closed for a season. I do find it kind of interesting that the area where the train is now was where Deja Vu was once located, so they would have clearance to place something tall in that area.....you never know. I am excited to see whatever SFOG does next, though!
  5. Six Flags Over Georgia-about 2 hours Dollywood-about 4 hours
  6. I love that helix-it looks like something directly out of RCT I tried to do once.
  7. I'm very interested to see how this coaster works out, and to hear the reviews. As much as I was hoping to see other SF parks get their own version of X2 or their own 4D coasters, I am taking a guess that parks that might have wanted a 4D coaster in the past will get a Wing Rider instead. What gives me the impression is the similarities in the branding of this ride and X2 (similar logo, track colors, and even the same music in the video). I'm also curious what the maximum rider height will be on this one; I know Wild Eagle is minimum height of 50" and a maximum height of 78" but I am curious to see what the Six Flags restrictions are.
  8. Looks like it was another great and successful event! I'm still bummed that I had to (at the last minute) miss it for the first time ever this year, as it looks as if it was just as much fun as it has always been if not moreso. But life happens and I am thankful that my Dad is recovering from the fall he had last week and doing a little better every day. Looking forward to Deep South Bash later this year, and WCB 2013!
  9. Thanks for posting all of the updates.....granted, it's not the same as being there in person, but it is great to be able to follow along online and share in the fun that way!
  10. This is the most difficult post I think I have ever had to write...... My Dad, who has not been well had a fairly serious accident/fall today and had to go to the hospital-as my Mom is disabled and cannot drive, I am unfortunately going to have to miss WCB for the first time ever this year. I am more concerned about my Dad, but I am very disappointed about having to bail out on my favorite annual event literally two days before. If ANYONE needs a ticket for both days please PM or e-mail me directly; thanks.
  11. Just got my tickets and looking forward to another great West Coast Bash! Will be making a longer trip to get there this time, so off to work on booking flights.....
  12. Thanks so much for the awesome and detailed coverage of the show! I would love to attend this someday. Lots of exciting developments, although I am most curious to find out who is getting the brand new Rocky Mountain coaster for 2013 as well as what parks will be getting the next Wing Riders in years to come!
  13. I always stay at the HI Express across from SFMM on Friday, and at the Knott's hotel on the premises on Saturday (great hotel, IMHO). I have always gotten a discount on the Knott's hotel with my Knott's/Cedar Fair pass and it's great to be able to just walk over there in the morning. I think cost last year was around $115-120.
  14. I think that this, coupled with the fact that we don't lose an hour with the time change, will result in an even more enjoyable event for everyone. I think this was an excellent idea. I'm actually glad it's in February, now I don't have to wait until March to visit SFMM and KBF again!
  15. Thanks, Robb! Already marked on my calendar. This year I get to book plane tickets as well as hotel reservations-I'm actually planning on flying Southwest into SNA/Orange County; LAX is one of the things about So Cal I do not miss in the least and anytime I can avoid it, I do!
  16. I am really wishing I had been able to get one more ride in on Log Jammer while I was still living out there, it was a great flume ride. Thankfully, they still have one other flume ride to fill the void.....
  17. Full photo TR and pics are forthcoming, but I just wanted to type a quick note to express sincere gratitude to TPR, all of the management and staff at SFOG and all of the new friends I met for making yesterday such an awesome time.....this was truly a fantastic and memorable event!!!
  18. Great America really needed and deserved this in my opinion, and it looks like a great coaster. It's great to see the B&M take on the 4D design (albeit without the seat rotation; it appears as if they are using the track to create the same types of sensations) catching on so well. Seeing this layout, it would not surprise me in the least if some other parks in the Six Flags chain receive their own version of this over the next few years. A solid and smart addition to one of the best of the parks in the chain!
  19. The hotel rate is a great deal, if I had not already advance booked at HI Express over in Douglasville about 10 minutes away I would do it.
  20. I have said for years that this would be the perfect option for SFMM to build an Extreme drop ride, and to me this looks as extreme as it gets. This will make two rides I will be terrified of riding at next year's West Coast Bash-this one and Windseeker at KBF have the potential to truly frighten me (I still cannot look down on Supreme Scream!)
  21. My last ride on Ghostrider was outright abusive-and caused it to fall out of my top ten coasters. Not only was it jarring and uncomfortable, the slow down at the mid course ruins the insanity of the rest of the ride it once had (which considering the present state of the ride might not be such a bad thing). Next time I visit the park, I will be sticking to Silver Bullet and Xcel if GR is still running like it was a few weeks ago.
  22. I am anxious to see the layout for this.....SFGam really needed this, IMHO. It appears based upon this and Dollywood that B&M has a hit on their hands with their interpretation of the "4D" coaster (albeit one without rotating seats at the moment). Although, I would imagine the sensation of the first drop on the Swarm coaster would be as dramatic as the first drop on X2.....
  23. Really looking forward to this event, it sounds better every time I read about it!
  24. Just my advice from having gone last year: anyone even considering going to this event, DO IT! Unfortunately, I won't be able to go this year due to moving, but it would be difficult to top the time I had at this event last year, especially being one of the winners of the "be a Haunt Monster for the night" prize. That was just awesome. The best time I have ever had at Haunt
  25. If Windseeker is open when I visit KBF on the 15th then I am going to strive to get up the nerve to ride-this is the very first ride I have seen in years that I am absolutely terrified of getting on. Does this one have the same lighting package as the others?
