  1. Wish more parks in the US would invest in rides like the mad house and this new one. Indoors, large capacity and probably can have different sequences.
  2. Here's your Ginuwine. . . you're on your own with the bottle. . .
  3. I think what we fail to realize is parks don't compete/compare to other parks, they do to themselves. KI may have more attendance than, say, Carowinds, BUT carowinds has been showing record growth year after year. Percentages matter more than hard numbers which is why carowinds has been getting the pork. Also are you aware of the temps in north and south carolina in jan and feb? It barely gets 30 degrees lol.
  4. That seems to be one of the moments the train was designed for. They aren't on their toes, the seat is lifting them. From more research, it seems the air time moments are what will be triggering the "bouncy" of the trains. i also wonder if this would be more fat boy friendly as you're standing and your stomach wouldn't be as much as an issue if you were seated.
  5. I am confused. Traditionally, stand up coasters are ridden in the stand up position and the seat is there for straddling and not for sitting soooooo how will bouncing seats really be felt if we are standing?
  6. Technically the park has been toying with this for several years now. going from being closed between scarowinds and winterfest to having the peanuts celebration covering that time period. Now they will probably have some festival that will cover weekends from jan to feb.
  7. Did you download the disneyworld app? It would have told you all the wait times for everything, from meet and greets to ride line times.
  8. Yeah, not sure what richland is talking about. But since seeing the second installment of the pre-fab coaster is getting a full rehab, is it safe to say these coasters have a shelf life of about 15-20 years? I say that's pretty good as most wooden coasters continually have to have sections and track replaced ever so often. But still. I wonder if that's a written thing or just something determined by ride cycles or what. Hopefully SFGadv follows suit and just rehab the coaster and make it anew.
  9. ^ Hummm, so after about 17 years it went through an extensive refurb. El Toro is upon it's 17th year and has been having structural issues. Could it be a "thing"? We all know traditional wooden coaster track is always getting replaced considered in the budget for maintenance and overall price of the coaster). I wonder how well the other 2 coasters are taken care of because you don't hear much about them or it's riding condition. Which begs the question, why was intamin only able to off load 4 of these things? I would think less upkeep would be a selling point.
  10. Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the major selling point of the Intamin pre-fab coaster was that it needed less maintenance vs a traditional wooden coaster? How are the other pre-fab coasters holding up?
  11. It seems as if the streets are lacking from years past. it just feels as if something is missing.
  12. I don't think you're talking about the same watch. . . They are talking about the qbot watch thing where you can reserve rides and things, you are talking about simply keeping up with time.
  13. ^ or they are actually getting rid of dragster all together and keeping on remnants of it to incorporate into a totally new ride but with the same or similar name. You don't remove a ride just for some tweaking.
  14. I was a bit nervous waiting outside the gate with what seemed like a million people but when we got in, the crowds dispersed and we were on our way. I am already planning for next year lol and the only thing I would do different is stay an extra night. We flew in, went that night and flew back home saturday. I needed a day to relax before dealing with the airport.
  15. I want to say thanks to everyone for the help and feedback! Simply stated, we had a blast! I have never been able to do so much at the magic kingdom on any visit. When I got there at 4 it did rain a little but after that, it was little to no rain throughout the night, just a drizzle now and then. We got to meet mickey with no wait! That is unheard of but hey, I'll take it. We even met 4 princesses in the matter of 10 minutes. Splash mountain was a walk on, as well as the haunted mansion. We decided to have a late lunch, early dinner at liberty tree tavern. Of course we had no reservations but they were able to seat us. The price point was really good for family style and the food wasn't that bad at all. To sum it up, by the end of the night we were exhausted and skipped some rides out of sheer tiredness. Needless to say I will be returning next year.
  16. Well, one way to reduce the amount of people in the park. . . Send them to the hospital.
  17. Hey everyone! I wanted to give the event a few nights to run and for people to get out and experience it before I ask so here I go. How has MNSSHP been this year? I have plans to go this coming friday and wanted to kinda put together a plan of action. I plan on getting there at the 4PM time to try to get some rides in so I have some questions. . . Is there a plan of attack I should consider? Should I bring a backpack to hold the bags of candy (bringing two kids) or will they be able to still ride and store the candy? As far as the parade, I have noticed that it's best to wait for the second run as the first run is full of people who have smaller kids who go to sleep early. Is that true? Should I wait till later in the night to get candy? I know some rare appearances by characters are happening but how would I know what characters are rare? I don't want to waste time on characters they may be out on a regular day. Food, is it some hack or something I should not miss? That's all the questions i have for now. I think I kinda know how I need to handle the night but more input would be better.
  18. If it is based on Arie force, then never. . .
  19. And we see how that is working lol. . .
  20. YOu can gradually raise the price while you are gradually improving the product. Charging 30-40 is not gradually improving the parking experience when you don't offer trams, shade or even an eveningly paved lot. Look how long it took to add a restroom near superman and batman at six flags america. Too many things that would enhance the guest experience have been too long ignored and you just cant say ok we want to consider ourselves in the league of disney and universal so pay us more and we will provide new benches. I just feel dejected because it feels six flags is making it seem like they parks have become city dumps due to the customers while they turned their rides into advertisements, tapped IP's that interest teens and ignore creating a family experience like they use to before they started buying up parks and lost their way.
  21. It's not so much as the higher prices but what is being offered compared to what people want. Target, to me is bland and don't offer a lot of the cool stuff I find at local stores and I go to walmart for convenience. If something is at target, and a person wants it, they will go to target and get it, regardless of the price. Money is literally no longer an object to a lot of people as the world has become more accessible. Bottom line, if six flags offered a better product, maybe people would respect the parks more. Charging me more for the same wont do it.
  22. The issue I have with this is paying more equates better (behaved) customers and that is just not the case. I guarantee that if you asked anyone to pick and they will pick the 100 option over the 2 dollar option, especially if it's for a family of 4. Part of the problem is making assumptions about people, specifically people we consider poor and feel they are the first to cause problems in parks. You simply cannot price people out because people will afford what they feel they can and should. Plenty of people are being exposed to more things due to these influencers parks.places themselves affording more visibility. Even homeless people have smart phone with internet. When it comes to six flags parks, I feel it will take a lot, i mean A LOT to overhaul the experience. WE are talking about a chain that literally throws roller coasters on top of parking lots an call it a day, but then wonder why they attract "bad" customers. From removing asphalt to overhauling food choices to limiting attendance/pass sales. Go back to the original reason the parks were made, to be unique an celebrate the history of wherever the park is, the 6 flags that ruled the area. Of course that can't be done outside the original parks but every area has history, tap into it. Bottom line, give people something to respect and they are less likely to treat your park like the thunderdome or a glorified babysitter. But to sum it up, you can't out price derelicts.
  23. Definitely forgot all about this coaster. . .
  24. Dang I missed it. BUt I know what I won't miss again . . . the Zinger!!
  25. Im gonna say this for the people in the back. . . Fast Lane is not giving you the ability to cut the entire queue and does not guarantee you NO wait at all, it gets you a reduced wait time. It's called FAST lane not NO lane. . . 50% less of a wait than the regular line is fine by me but then I never get fastlane so. . .
