Great pics and trip report! Were they actually letting you snap the flyers at KD? I was there a couple of weeks ago and got yelled at by three differents ops for snapping.

So I might be heading to Carowinds this Monday, Memorial Day. I know going on the weekend will be a mess, but what about Monday? I was searching through some old topics, and it seemed like opinion was split on whether it was a good day to go. Any advice?

They got rid of the over the shoulder restraints and added simple lapbars. This makes a much much much better ride, no more headbanging. I rode it back in the day too, and it was horrible. With the new restraints, it's very rerideable.

As to the car, I've driven another person's car into Canada the last few years. It was never a problem going in either direction. I also got a notorized statement from the owner of the car saying that I had permission to drive it into Canada and back. I never needed it, but it's a good safety net.

Damn, was it really 34 degrees out there? I was in the front row for Volcano at like 7:55, and that's an experience I'll never forget.

Having ridden Apollo's Chariot over a dozen times last Friday, I can safely say there is no pumping.

I'm lazy, so here's a link to the Official Rules. Doesn't look like there's any sort of limitation, AND it was supposed to be judged by a "qualified panel." http://www.hersheys.com/back-to-school/official-rules.asp Seems like they just drew the name out of a hat, though that would have to be breaking a crapton of federal laws.

Please tell me they were forbidden from using scenery too, because wow. A monkey with a two by four could bang something like that out.

There used to be one at one of the parks at Ocean City, NJ. I think it was Gillian's Wonderland? This was something like 10 years ago, so does anyone know if you can still grab the brass ring there?

Those are fantastic pictures. Great capture of Volcano! I was actually there tonight, and I couldn't believe how incredibly packed the place was (especially since last Sunday it was empty). As to the top spin, I know I found it a bit rough on my "manly parts," but fun nevertheless.

I'm looking for advice on what park I should visit next weekend with some friends. I live in Richmond, Va. I've been to PKD a couple of times, and I'm looking at BGW or SFA, though I'm open to other suggestions (I've actually never been to a SF... I suck). One of my friends isn't as much a coaster person, so decent flats would be a plus, but not required. This is actual my first time posting, but I've been reading quite a bit and this seems like an awesome place!
