This ride is going to be amazing but I have no confidence in Six Flags New England theming anything well. The park also said something will go in Twister's old spot and they'e "exploring" future transportation rides... and they said that they were one of the friendliest parks in the country. So they say quite a few things that are completely incorrect.

That's an amazing idea... I'll try that next time we go to the park. I'm actually kind of annoyed that I never thought of it. -

If they just padded the restraints a little bit the ride would be a million times better but the fanboys would start a riot. I think the trains are fine besides the lap bars. -
Here's my list... Thankfully most of these coasters were crap and I'm glad they're gone. I'm not counting relocated coasters, just coasters that are completely gone. I didn't bother with kids coasters either. Worse than Death Son of Beast Viper (Great Adventure) Complete Crap Double Loop (Geauga Lake) Great American Scream Machine Gwazi (well... in about a month) Hercules High Roller Hurricane (Rye Playland) Hurricane (Adventureland) Hypersonic XLC Raging Wolf Bobs (Raging piece of crap) Toboggan (Trimpers... maybe this was relocated but I like to think it's gone forever) Villain (Geauga Lake) Whirlwind (Knoebels) Medicore at Best Batman and Robin the Chiller Big Dipper (Geauga Lake) Colossus Cyclone (New England) Disaster Transport High Speed Thrill Coaster Nightmare at Crack Axle Canyon (Great Escape) Mad Mouse (Quassy) Rolling Thunder Wild Mouse (Jolly Roger) Wildcat (Cedar Point) Great Coasters Big Bad Wolf (Verbolten is nice and all but it's nothing compared to Big Bad Wolf).

^^Assuming you're right, I love how the park is getting new pieces for the trains so the ride won't be ugly when the new coaster opens. The trains... yeah because that's the problem. That's why the ride's ugly. I mean look at this ugly train... The rest of the ride area looks perfect. Those trains totally ruin it for me.

I wish I "got" Magnum. I know this ride has a lot of insane, die-hard fans but I just don't get it. I always ride it when I'm at the park, I love the view from the lift but I find the ride to be too painful to enjoy most of the time. -
I agree, that marketing is very smart. It's totally arbitrary so they can claim whatever they want and it let's people know that the new ride will be nothing like the old Cyclone. Excellent point. While I can think of a few rougher rides Goliath is pretty brutal with that new train (I've heard some seats are better than others but there's a grouper so it's the luck of the draw). Any coaster that manages to repeatedly slam your head on the restraints on a perfectly straight and flat piece of track (through the station) is truly a marvel of terrible engineering. Too bad, in 2013 it was the best ride in the park.

I hate to jump on the bandwagon here and keep piling on but the way people act towards "offensive" content lately is amazingly stupid. It's not just here, it seems to be a cultural thing that comes from a place of amazing self entitlement. First of all, nobody knows what the word "offended" means. People just throw it around like it's nothing and never use it to describe something that's actually offensive. Were you awake at night because of what happened with your feelings hurt? No? The I guess it wasn't that offensive. Were you offended or did you just not like what was said? There's a difference... Second of all it used to be that if you didn't like something you would choose not to participate in it and move on. Now if you don't like something you stand on a soapbox and preach about it and try to change or remove the thing you don't like and ruin it for everyone else. When people are offended by something a public figure says they try to get them fired and demand an apology, when people don't like a word people use they go on a dumb rant about how nobody should use it (remember "Ban Bossy")... this goes on everywhere and it's becoming ridiculous. If you come to a website and don't like the content of the website or the way people act on the website then leave. In the last 24 hours someone didn't like the word filter that everyone else enjoys thoroughly and wants it changed because "THEY want to know what was meant to be said" (like they have some right to see the exact content they want to see on someone else's website) and today someone is threatening to "not upgrade to the account they were totally about to upgrade to... I swear" because they don't like the way the vast majority of the people on the site are acting (and by that I mean everyone else is having fun). Sorry if this is off topic or long winded... and I know I'm just piling on but this whining is becoming more and more prevalent (everywhere, not just here) and it's amazingly annoying. ------- Oh and berryfarm, great pictures. Thanks for sharing. I can't wait to get out there and ride this coaster when it opens.

They're absolutely flying on these low-to-the-ground sections. -
What is your favorite Roller Coaster?

SFNE is only about 2 hours from my house so I used to ride it a ton, even in it's opening year. Superman Ride of Steel was much better as the restraints were great and the ride seemed a lot faster back then (though I don't know if that's really the case). I used to have Superman ranked #2 right behind Millennium Force but I always thought Millennium Force was better, even when Superman was in it's prime. -
In the northeast, Three Kings Day is a holiday that's sole purpose is to provide an excuse for everyone who haven't taken their tree down yet or stopped turning on the Christmas lights. We all just pretend we're leaving everything on until Three Kings Day. Unfortunately now I guess we need to put all this stuff away. lol

Holy crap, they've added a ton of new track since yesterday afternoon. They're really hauling ***. -

Millennium Force is equally amazing in every seat. In the front the view is breathtaking and the speed is relentless, in the back it rips through the turns and delivers great airtime (yeah, I said airtime... the idea that this ride doesn't have airtime is insane. It's no El Toro but it's still quite good). I'll never understand the complaints about this ride. It's my #1 for sure... better than Bizarro, Boulder Dash, El Toro, Skyrush, Maverick, I305... whatever. Millennium Force delivers in every seat at any time of day. It's amazing. -
Okay, so we're thinking of going to the park next month and have a ride-rehab question. This won't impact whether or not we go but now I'm just flat out confused. On the website if you go to "Park info" and then "Park Hours, Show Times & Ride Updates" it takes you here. This lists the upcoming rehabs as... Then directly under that it says "View the complete ride attractions maintenance schedule" which takes you here where it says something completely different... If the argument is that it's the complete list and that's why things were omitted then fine but the Phoenix thing is just stupid... again the only ride out of any of these that I care about is the Flume and it's not like that's a deal-breaker... but does anyone know why the website says 2 different things. Also on the second page it says "Stanleyville Falls" was closed from November 3 - 21 and "Flume" is closed January 5 - February 27. The website says the ride's name is "Stanley Falls" and they don't have a ride called "Flume". I know this isn't that important but this website is a mess. lol For the record Screamscape says this which is the second list without the flume so I guess they find that list more accurate? Can anyone shed some light on which list is actually correct? I would assume it would be the official park site and not Screamscape but the official park site is all over the place. Like I said we're going anyway but for future reference I'd like to know which list to look at. Thanks in advance!

If I'm understanding the problem correctly then you don't have anything to worry about. The New England Sky Screamer doesn't have restraints like a normal swing ride. They look similar but there's a seatbelt and a "crotch strap" (their words not mine, lol) and they're locked and unlocked electronically by the operator. Once the operator locks them they're not going anywhere and you're not getting out of that ride until it's safely on the ground and the restraints are unlocked. I hope I understood your concerns correctly and I hope that explanation helped. The restraints are nothing like the ones on a regular swing ride though.
