K1ngdaKa88
Hi Guys At the moment I'm re-building SFMM's Twisted Colossus out of K'nex. I'm building it with the micro K'nex, because I only have these! The tracks are blue and green, like the original one! At the moment I'm finished with the supports and Motor of the Lifthill. More I can't do at the moment, because I have to wait till the other K'nex set arrives with more pieces! Let's hope it comes soon! Here are some construction Photos: Tomorrow I'll continue with the bunny hop and some green track work. GCI Wooden
This has me intrigued! Looking forward to more. Also, this thing is going to be HUGE!
K1ngdaKa88
The height is about 3ft and I'll hope the other K'nex pieces are enough for the whole coaster, or I'll have to order another set!
K1ngdaKa88
Little update: I started with some track work on the green side. More I can't do because I have to wait till the new K'nex set arrives! Here are some Photos: Green Lifthill Green first drop And green bunny hop!
Cj1990
This is very cool so far. I'd actually love to see the support pieces painted white
K1ngdaKa88
^of course it would look better so, but that would be an enourmous amount of work! And later I also want to build other coasters where the white supports don´t really look good!
K1ngdaKa88
Little Update: The new set arrived today and I continued working on it. But I saw that I still have not enough pieces for the coaster, so after this update it will take a few weeks till the next big update! Here are some photos: New pieces! Bag_O_Laughs
Very cool! i love a bit of K'nex
ECZenith
Leave it to the Swiss to make amazing coasters (even ones made out of Knex) Well done young sir, looking forward to seeing future updates.
K1ngdaKa88
^thanks I'll start today or tomorrow with some blue track work. Maybe, I can finish the high five tomorrow, but that's all I can do, because I'm out of pieces! A small question: What do you prefer more? 1 or 2 car trains? Because I have 4 cars at the moment. K1ngdaKa88
Construction Update: I started with some blue track work. I also put up the High Five, but it isn't the one that will be later, it's just provisionally. And I also have to work that the car is making it up tho the high five, because it doesn't has enough energy! Here are some photos: The blue Lifthill is going up as well Blue and green first drop Bunny Hop Provisionally High Five element
K1ngdaKa88
I started to remove the coaster because the car doesn't even reach the high 5!! Here are some pics:
ECZenith
Given that you have all of these pieces, why not attempt a recreation of Wicked Cyclone? It might be a little easier to pull off as the layout is more compact and low to the ground. It might be easier to pull off with Knex, just a suggestion! I applaud your attempt at Twisted Collossus, sorry to see there were physics issues. I know the pain... I build Coaster Dynamix and Lego coasters and it can be frustrating when they dont make it through their ideal course.
K1ngdaKa88
Ooops, did I say I gave up? I wanted to say that I removed the top level of the structure from the high 5 that the car is able to go thru! I just finished the new high 5! On the Blue track it runs well, but on the green one I still have to work because it looses too much speed that the car won't go thru it! ECZenith
I am glad you didn't give up! I got the wrong idea when I saw the deconstruction, keep at it! You will get there!
K1ngdaKa88
I'll buy soon two more sets that I can continue to work on it! It will be that set with the launch motor, that the car gets launched after the high five! And I'll place the green track a bit lower on the high five, that it can go thru without problems! K1ngdaKa88
I set up a small poll to know how you prefer the trains. Please vote! Thanks
K1ngdaKa88
Okay, thanks for your votes. I also decided to run 2 trains with 3 cars like most of you voted. As for now, I lowered the green high 5 and made some first runs with the 3 car train! I'll show you tomorrow some photos! But after those photos you have to wait quiet long because we have to order new ones, but we've already reached my Mum's credit card limit, so I can order it in about half a month! K1ngdaKa88
Here are some photos of the finished high 5 and Lifthill. The Lifthill's Motor axis is the one for the finished coaster, but the axis at the bottom of the hill is only for test runs without completed track! PS: I don't rebuild it exactly as you can see on the high 5! I'll do TC's layout, but I do some small changes. K1ngdaKa88
I made a small Trailer for my K'nex Twisted Colossus. What do you think of it? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]PS: the coaster should be finished latest in July!
DoinItForTheFame
Neat video. Glad you finally got the High Five worked out so that the coaster now clears it! Can't wait to see more!
K1ngdaKa88
^thanks, the car on the blue track even goes over the hill under the green stall! But the green side needs a Booster before the stall and the blue one before the roll. But first I have to order these Sets!
K1ngdaKa88
I just ordered the new set, so it should arrive next week. Now a question: How should I put the trains together, that the color looks cool? I'll make 2 trains with 3 cars each. I have these colors: 3 red cars 2 blue cars one grey car You can answer like that: Train 1: color, color, color Train 2: color, color, color Note: order the colors from the front car to the back car, thanks
K1ngdaKa88
And here I have some photos of it from today. As you have seen in the Trailer, I was able to start with the zero-G-stall, but it isn't finished yet, but this or next week the new sets should arrive!
