"El Rio" Water Ride Lift Wheel at Bobbejaanland

I was chatting to one of the Operators last week about the "Lift Wheel" on this ride and they said, " it is currently not working as it keeps getting stuck or breaking down".

 

Is there anyone who knows a Company who can supply parts or fix this unique lift wheel...?

 

I just want to help the Park get it working again as it looks an amazing piece of machinery to start a "Rapids Ride".

 

If you do know anyone can they contact the Park please?

 

If you have been on this "Lift Wheel" can you tell me what it is like..

The wheel is not allowed to turn since the thing has been checked.

What i understand so far is that in urgency there is not enough time to evacuate everybody on the wheel.

Thereby its also a fact that it gets the capp. down so they just don't want to use it.

I did it once when it opened but its not such a major part for that ride.

They also looked for other options like a transport band to roll the boats up to the slide but that was also impossible.

So far i suggest that you just forget it

I love rapids rides... especially weird ones. Does anyone have photos of th elift wheel? Sounds interesting....

They don't use the wheel anymore because it breaks down often and it is to difficult to evacuate people from it. It doesn't need new parts, it was just a bad design to start with.

 

The wheel itself isn't that special. It's just like any other Feris Wheel. If you like to know what the drop is like you should visit Phantasialand. They have a similar ride but with a vertical lift instead of a wheel.
