The Cheat Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Yeah so Im going to Raging Waters this Saturday and I really want to take pictures while on the slides but I dont want to ruin my camera. I know that you did some cheep ghetto way to waterproof yours and Id like to do the same.
WillMontu Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 You can get one of those cheap $10 disposable waterproof cameras, or do what Robb does:
SharkTums Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Either put it in two ziploc bags, or get a disposible water camera.
BarryH Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 For my video camera, I have a special waterproof enclosure that cost about $150. Companies like Aquapac make special waterproof cases to protect digital cameras. I think they are less than $50. Check them out at www.aquapac.net
The Cheat Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 Meh, I dont feel like spending money so Im just gonna use the two ziploc bags. Thanks Elissa.
benzo41190 Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 I have a question though. When you put it in two plastic bags, do you keep the lens out most of the time? Or do you have the lens stick out on one, and have it in the other bag?
SharkTums Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 With the video cameras we put the lens out and duct or electrical tape it so it's sealed water tight. With the small digital, just throw it in some bags and try to hold them tight to get a better quality picture.
Goliath513 Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I use This for my digital camera and it works great. Here are some pictures that I took with it at Waterworld in Denver, CO earlier this month. For anyone looking for a waterproof solution for your camera, I highly recommend this. -Sam
miniviews Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 ^ I agree with DiCaPac, an excellent product. I use a WP-300 for my Casio at the waterpark (I have videos of me on a body slide and the resulting splash at the pool) and snorkeling. I suggest you use Rain-X on the lens portion to prevent watermarks.
