rollermonkey Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 In that case, I wonder if Double Loop was still there? (No one knows the closure date, so I was trying to narrow it down.)
Turtleggjp Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 They were showing previews of this season as the last season ended back in December, so I'm sure they were at Fuji-Q before major construction started on Eejanaika (had to copy that from trustkill22). I recorded the episode, so if anyone wants to see that segment, let me know. Matt
Thrillrider15 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 ^ Ya. I recorded it too. Haven't watched it twice yet though. Anyways, when the two men with a lot of hair (lol. The closest thing I can use to describe them), when they got on Dodonpa, they were so eager to blast off. And when they did, they all grabbed their restraints, and held on. I thought that was amusing.
rollermonkey Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 It is really hard not to hold on during Dodonpa's launch. I've done it, but it isn't fun. It is really, really difficult to keep your arms from flailing backwards. (I couldn't do it.) I just hold on now, and raise my arms after the catch car releases and the acceleration is finished. At 0-106.9mph in 1.8 seconds, this launch is far more forceful than TTD. I haven't been on KK, so I can't compare that. DDP's launch is actually at a lot of people's pain threshold. I've always described it as feeling like I just got kicked in the chest.
alpengeist04 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 ^Hypersonic's launch is more forceful then KK, so Dodonpa has to be too. Actually, I wasn't crazy about KK's launch at all.
Turtleggjp Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 0-106.9 in 1.8 seconds... How many G's is that? That's got to be up there with Tatsu's Pretzl Loop. I'll probably never get to experience it for myself, but hey if I ever do I can probably ride Eejanaika too!
