Movieguy
If you've ever been to a fair, then you've most likey seen one of the dark rides they have there, usually a cheap and underwhelming experience from the aspect of the ride itself, but I always remember these portable rides for one thing...the facade artwork! I could stand there for hours, admiring the wonderfully creative work they do on the facades of these rides, all those murals and figures and other things. They really know how to grab some attention. What are some of the most memorable facades on a dark ride that you've ever seen? I've seen my share at the New York State Fair, especially from their longest running dark ride, the Ghost Train...the ones in Europe look especially wild, facade wise, especially in Wiener Prater park in Vienna. Bk1870
These are so cool! I totally forgot about them until now. The dark "scary" rides always have evil people airbrushed all over the front...they are scary to look at! I bet these people have fun making them. Now on the music themed rides, the people they airbrush are weird, in my opinon. Fun to look at, nonetheless. --- Does anybody have some pictures? I personally don't and would like to see some more! Nrthwnd
Here's a place to look up, altho most of the Dark Rides the site features, are more "permanently placed" in the parks... but... http://www.laffinthedark.com/main.htm I think the site does list some carnival dark rides. Worth a look-see, hmm? Hope it helps. (EDIT: Spelling boo boos.)
